Ambiance: A two-in-one spot, where The Daisy Cafe takes one side, bright and complete with kitchen and bar seating; and The Union Coffee Shop takes up the other side, dark and complete with mega barista station. Both sides offer table-chair set-ups for patrons wishing to dine in. The atmosphere is casual, laid back, clean and very Bellingham - cozy, artsy, quaint and friendly. Despite being downtown, the Coffee Shop feels like a neighborhood spot, where you can walk in and know your barista and the faces seated about. What I ordered: For our children, two 12-ounce caramel sauce steamers, a 12-ounce mocha for me and a 16-ounce matcha latte for my husband. Paid for coffee and a spinach feta pretzel, never got the pretzel. Ordered coffee and a blueberry muffin and got banana nut muffin instead. And my dasher never tells me anything about it so I'm guessing they're not even informing dashers of missing items or substitutions. I don't know. Like I said, great coffee. But be prepared for food items to be frequently wrong when you order them. I'm happy to change my review if they show improvement.
