They said contact my branch manager, who was hard to get in touch with and took multiple times. She said she did not have the authority. I called the Customer Service line who tried to send me back to the branch and I told them their own policy on that. She then said that is correct about the branch manager, so I asked for the fee back and they would not do it. I think that's bad service and their web site sucks, too. Its an average bank. Lotsa nonsense policies and rules. Tried to get a debt consolidation loan for…read more$8,000 for a personal loan and a credit card maxed out. Each with a 17.9% Interest rate. They approved me for 18% and $218/Month which is $70/month MORE than I was already paying. The point of a debt consolidation loan is to LOWER my monthly payments. Totally missed the mark on that one. Mobile app is outrageously confusing. And, as a lower class customer, I get 6-9¢ a month interest yield. Again, not impressed. You cant get debits from your savings, so you cant set up a bill to be deducted from your savings. Its MY account, MY money, let me handle my financial strategy. You just hold my money for me. Also, only $20 a month in ATM surcharge rebates and, heres the catcher, there isnt a single ATM within 30 miles of me. If there is, I haven't found it. Howabout I get my surcharge rebates for unlimited times because of unavailability of ATMs?! Only reason I switched was because they were theonly bank that was in Hawaii that was relatively close to home when I retired from the Army. No contest with USAA. I will be going back to USAA. Then, there is the stupid posting of pending deposits. I get a pending deposit showing 3-5 days before it actually posts. And, if it says that it will post on a certain day, you would expect it to be there that morning. NOPE. 12am the NEXT morning. Ie: pending deposit on 27th. Actual time deposit, 12am, or later one the 28th. Why not just say the 28th???! Soon as my stuff is paid off, Ill be going back to USAA. Sionara NFCU!

Winchester Navy Federal (newer location past Walmart) -- long wait, no communication…read more I'm writing this about the second Winchester, Virginia Navy Federal site, the newer one past Walmart. I've been in a couple of times and the staff were helpful. The last visit was different. I waited over 30-45 minutes just to talk about adding a member to my account. Nobody came out to say they were sorry for the delay or that there might be a wait. I finally walked up to the lobby desk and explained the situation. The person there apologized, but when I asked for the manager, I was told she was in a meeting. It sounded like they were short-staffed because people had called in. If they can't staff the branch, they can't support members properly. That's a poor way to treat the people this credit union is supposed to serve -- including America's service members and their families. As an OIF combat veteran, this is disappointing. I may try the Berryville location and see if they have their act together. I also don't understand why Navy Federal -- a credit union built around military pay -- still doesn't have active drive-up lanes with a clerk at the window, the way other banks and credit unions do. Even ordinary banks that don't primarily serve military families have a drive-up teller. Navy Fed should too. Also the Manager after being asked a question regarding my situation with adding a member, she then agrees that I shouldn't have a problem adding my fiancée to the account, then I get to the desk and the new guy fumbles around and kept getting up to get clarity himself from other people and then says I can't get my request fulfilled today haha.......................................................... What a joke

Even the bank manager cannot give correct information, and then the CLIENT, which someone utilizing their services happens to be, is penalized for the BANK'S inability to get their own information together. I can't believe my husband and I wasted so much time trying to make the "relationship" with this bank work simply because it's easier than finding a new one. These people are unprofessional, are unable to be consistent, and clearly do not care about you or your money unless your family is from the Valley. We will be closing our account ASAP, as we have found a much better option that cares about their clients. By the way, VNB, Client is defined in the Merriam Webster dictionary as, "a person who pays a professional person or organization for services."
