The…read moreprices are very high but not Islandwide's fault as DHL sets their extremely high prices (think 2-3 times more than UPS). Staff are nice and helpful. Would have given four stars but had to wait long time for my receipt. They take your card info and then message it to someone that then processes your card and the faxes (Yes, I said FAXES) your receipt to Islandwide for you to sign. That's a little WTF in my opinion.

I would never have thought to call Island Gophers for Furniture repair. I was given a couple of…read morenames including theirs that were supposed to do furniture repair. I called the other which seemed like the name of a repair company and never got a call back. So I gave Island Gophers a call. I got a call back from the company and said they would let the repairman know and he would call me. I got a call from him the next morning and we set a time for late in the day. He came by and looked a the sofa and got into it finding the broken wood. He glued and supported both breaks and the sofa is better than new. The arm was loose when we got it several years ago. Now it is very solid. While he was here I asked him to look at part of my murphy bed that was broken. He had it fixed in about 20 minutes. I have known Island Gophers as a trucking company for years and I have used them several times. Now I know them as a furniture repair company and would use them again without any question.

So far, not so good. These guys were the company used by the furniture store we recently ordered…read moresome stuff from. A couch was part of that delivery which we asked the guys to put in our living room loft. The couch was all wrapped up with its cushions, and legs attached which were not padded or wrapped in any way. After banging around on the lower part of the staircase and trying to maneuver the couch around the small landing they gave up and told me it would be impossible to get up. I asked if they wouldn't consider removing the packaging/cushions/legs but they assured me that it wouldn't help. I signed for the couch and they left. I then unwrapped it, took the legs off etc. and when my 110lb wife got home we moved the couch upstairs and into position. I THEN noticed that there was a whole bunch of damage around the stairs and landing where the guys had tried to make the couch fit. so I took pictures and sent them to the furniture store with an aggrieved email describing the delivery. Well that was almost 2 weeks ago. there has been a lot of non communication and the store handed me off to Island Gophers and they have decided after an internal investigation that they are in no way at any fault. I am apparently out of luck. Of course this won't happen to ALL their customers, but beware if it happens to you!

The staff are very friendly and efficient. The price in sending a box is very reasonable.read more
