BBRP came through big for me, A+++++ experience. I talked with Brian over the phone to organize for a shock to be delivered to BBRP while coming through on a motorcycle tour. The rear shock of my 2018 Suzuki DL1000 had failed. Brian was extremely professional and installed the shock as promised. He even filled up the chain oiler and had the DL1000 back on the road under 2hrs. Great shop, couldn't recommend it more. read more

Nice guys, no no-nonsense and reasonably fast with fair prices on basic maintenance. I've had my tires changed here multiple times, will likely refer to them for other motorcycle needs that come up versus riding all the way down to skagit or snohomish for a honda dealer. If you want to bring your wheels in for a change-out, whether it's sourced by you or they source it (provided there is stock) they'll get it done. They are directly on the main whatcom transit route so that opens up a few options for those who only have one ride. One negative I will mention, if someone other than the mechanic(s) answer the phone you're not likely to get a useful answer about anything. Messages to mechanics are often incorrectly transcribed. The only way you'll get a useful result is by talking to the personnel in the garage directly. read more

My husband brought his motorcycle to BBRP a few years ago and bought a new set of tires from them. After a trip down the freeway, he noticed a bad speed wobble, and when he checked, the back tire was off alignment by a few marks, resulting in the wobble. He took it back in and showed the mechanic, the mechanic rolled it into another section of the shop, adjusted it, rolled it back out, and said "no it wasn't." Unfortunately, my husband decided to give BBRP the benefit of the doubt and took his bike in again for an oil change. He supplied his own high quality synthetic oil that he wanted put in. BBRP put the oil in, and not only went ahead and charged my husband for the oil that he supplied, but put WAY TOO MUCH oil in. The oil level was above the breather valve, which caused a pressure problem that resulted in a blown gasket. He took it back, explained the problem, and they charged him almost $300 to repair the gasket. They failed to fix it, and the gasket blew again. He then took the motorcycle to a Suzuki dealership which identified that the oil level was still too high, they corrected the oil level and replaced the gasket for about $60. My husband took the receipt to BBRP and asked for a refund of the $300 for the failed gasket repair (which, as you will recall, was only necessary because of BBRP's original error of overfilling the oil.) The owner did finally refund my husband part of the money, but then proceeded to tell him to get the f___ out, and called him a mother____er and a c_____sucker. My husband also saw BBRP employees riding his motorcycle multiple times, miles away from their shop, during the times they had his bike. I understand needing to test ride a bike for diagnostic purposes, but that should take place within a mile of the shop, not all over Bellingham. read more

Been taking my bikes here for about 11 years now. Brians real polite and knowledgable but have lost some faith in his crew. Recently I was in there to have some carb work done on a bike that was siting for the winter. I asked that they called me first if anything further needed attention but this did not occure and my bill soon doubled from there initial quote. I dont dispute that additional work may have needed to be done but it took almost a month to get my back and when I finaly, did my clutch began siezing up. I brought my bike back in and was told the clutch problem was due to a seal coming loose wich needed replacing. I'm no expert but when i was shown this seal it sure appeared in prisitne condion but never-the-less I didnt dispute the work. Again i was charged more then quoted, furthermore this time upon picking it up I noticed my left side horn button was missing. I asked the mechanic about it and got some attitude like i was just being difficult. As usual I remained gracious and went along my way. Within a day I encountered fluid leaking out of the reserviour of the master cyclender that they had worked on. Fortunatley this time Brian offered to fix it free of charge and would have been a fine conclusion to this experience yet was not the end. My bike began to struggle starting back up after it had been running and there was a noticble sputtering at high speeds. Upon further inspection the spark plugs were fouled and carbs had clearly been miscalibrated. Now im stuck paying a differnt mechanic another several hundred dollars to correct the problem. read more

First, I called on BBRP to install some brakes for my Vespa. I'd already bought the brake pads, so I just needed them installed. The technician was friendly and competent. He offered good service and the brakes seemed to work well. ___________________________ Second, a few weeks later, on a second scooter, I called to follow up on some brake work I had done. Unfortunately the brakes still squeaked/vibrated during stops (after work done here at BBRP), so I called to set-up an appointment to have them looked at. The technician I reached was friendly and looked up my original work order. I tried to set-up an appointment to to have the brakes looked at a second time, he dissuaded me and said I should just show up with the scoot and ask for them to take a look at them. I told the technician I would come by a week later on a Friday and he said that would be okay. A week passed and I showed up, exactly as I had planned and the shop was busy. I tried to talk to someone in the shop and was encouraged to talk to someone in the "office". I did. I told that person the whole story. Our conversation was soon hijacked by someone (i have no idea who it was) who was not kind. He said I shouldn't have come in on a busy Friday morning, I should have had an appointment, and on. This fellow (maybe the owner) is the reason I will probably never return to BBRP. He was rude, he contradicted his employee who I had spoken with, and WORST, he was rude. They never touched my broken scooter this day, even though I had spoken with a technician a week earlier and he had told me it would be okay to bring it in again to fix the problem for a second time. There is no excuse for being rude to a customer. Never. Particularly if a customer is being calm and polite. read more

BBRP is a local treasure. They are a no nonsense, trustworthy owner operated shop. I've been taking my motorcycle repair/maintenence on my Kawasaki KLR 650, my Suzuki DR350 and even my Yamaha Kodiak quad. I explain what I need done or ask them to diagnose a specific problem and sign the work order. After I hand the the keys, I walk out the door without concern. From experience over the years, I know that the work will be completed by the day they predict. I am at ease knowing that the work will be professionally complete at a fair price. I have learned that most of the larger local shops, within an hours drive of Belkingham, Frequently aren't nearly as reliable as BBRP. The estimates and price paid are always lower than the others. Now if I could only get them to work on my truck (they wont) I'd be sitting sweet. read more

Terrible. It took them 9 weeks to find the 3 hours ($240) to "fix" my scooter's clutch. They told me it was good to go. I didn't even make it home before the clutch broke. Their response? "We hoped it would at least make it that far..." They were incredibly rude and unprofessional. Apparently all the mechanics rode the scooter. Everyone in the shop took my scooter for a joy ride and I got stuck with the bill (and a useless commuter). read more

I have a 2003 Yamaha R6 and I take it here every time I can't do what I need at the home shop. I've been to a few other shops prior but these guys are the best I've been to in town. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and trustworthy. This shop is run by a bunch of former racing mechanics and definitely has a down to earth good ol' boy feel. The only down side is the presentation of the shop itself. Definitely not a show room dealership type of shop with floors you could eat off of but not big deal to me and the only reason I didn't give them 5 out of 5 stars. read more
