This is also a general review of Compass Banks and their poor services. The banking isn't so bad, but anything having to do with mortgage and loans seems beyond their collective intelligence. The mortgage agent first lost my application (which had all kinds of personal information on it) and when I gave her my copy, suddenly she "found it again"! Now 2 years later, the escrow service double charges us for our home insurance and has taken out 2 month's worth of excess payment, even though I've been assured by the escrow and loan departments that it would be taken care of...three weeks ago. This branch in general seems ok, however, since opening my account for my business my experience with the organization overall has been extremely negative. Extreme wait times to talk to someone on the phone who can solve problems. Lack of interest or a sense of urgency dealing with problems. Callous and uncaring customer service agents who behave just as you would expect someone at a crappy financial institution to behave. Poor quality mobile banking with non-sensical security questions that only apply to a small percentage of people so that you'll never remember what answer you made up for their dumb "security" blockade. Their "solution" is to just write down the answers somewhere (thus defeating any supposed security offered by their system). Icing on the cake would have to be the promise to remove a fee caused by a misunderstanding and then failing to deliver on that promise. Let me just be very clear, BBVA. The days of banking institutions getting away with treating people poorly and unfairly are over with. You see this thing called "the internet" was invented where by I can warn others of your behavior and easily research other businesses that are more worthy of survival. I have excellent credit. I manage my money well and you will no longer be seeing my money. You have failed me. Worse, you have failed yourselves. There are MANY other banks that would like my business. Have banked with them through a series of changes over the years . . . have found the BBVA group to be unaccommodating and difficult to deal with. Found out they were charging me $15 bucks a month for my money market account with any notification. Had a substantial amount in it until I purchased a new automobile. Thus, the charge for their "service" or lack of service. I'm moving away from them. Good riddance. read more

Have banked with this bank for auto loan since 10/2019 paying loan before due date every month with no problem until July and august of 2020 when i noticed there was 2 payments been debit from my account for loan monthly. Paid off my loan and i am still trying to get back the two payments. Costumer service with this bank is a JOKE they required that i send in proof that the money was debit from my account after telling me that they can see on their end it was paid.Please run if you get approve for car loan through this bank read more

If it were possible to give less than 1 star I would. We've had an auto loan with them for a bit over 2 years. If you're in the market for a vehicle and the dealership wants you to go with this bank, say no. It's not worth the hassle. We've been dunned because they incorrectly applied a payment. That got an "Oops, our mistake." When I used up the first payment book, it was a fight and about 40 minutes to get someone to agree to send a new one. They don't automatically send new payment books. I wondered if it's a sneaky way of getting late fees. Today's mission was to get an accurate payoff figure. They have not yet posted this month's payment. 4 people, over an hour wasted and no one was able to answer what, I thought, should be a fairly simple question. I was given 3 different payoff numbers. I ended up taking the largest of the 3, subtracted my last payment, and added back in their $2.16 per day times the maximum number of days it could take to be posted dating back to their last acknowledged payment. I know this is unlikely to be completely accurate but I couldn't even get a human to acknowledge that $2.16 per diem is correct even though that's the figure given on the automated line. I was so unhappy with the customer service dept. I'd been dealing with, I tracked down a corporate office number. It was difficult. The c.s. people claim not to have it. I was hung up on, and routed to a number of incorrect departments before finally getting to speak with a human. The recording informed me I might be talking to a collection agent and the human asked me if I was late on my payment. I find it troubling that the automatic assumption is that their customers are going to be delinquent. Far too many of their people are condescending, rude and beyond inefficient. read more

This is a review about BBVA Compass as a bank in general not just this location. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. That's all I have to say....if you see Compass Bank RUN AWAY! I paid my credit card payment in cash with the teller in the drive thru and they made the payment to a 6 year old charge off account for someone else. I went into the bank after getting a late payment notice and they said it would be fixed but it has been 2 weeks and their collections department has called me 12 time, they even called be 3 times between 9am-1pm Sunday...how rude is that? So that is why I am unhappy with them. read more

This is the worst bank ever. We did a construction/permanent loan with a Dallas branch. They outright lied about waiving fees until after we signed the construction phase. At the time of converting to permanent they said we misunderstood. Stay away from all Compass Bank branches. read more

There should be negative numbers for rating this bank. I have had an auto loan with them for 2 years. I traded in the vehicle a couple of days before the payment was due and the dealership cut a cut to pay off the loan. Two weeks later I receive a postcard saying I am delinquent. I called the number on the postcard and let them know that I had traded the vehicle and that they should have received full payment. At this time I would like to note that the total balance due was less than the payoff we were quoted by about $300.00. The call center informed me that they did not have the check but they would look for it and I should call back in 3 days to see if they had found it. When I called back 3 days later they stated my ticket had been closed because they did not find the check. They asked for the check number, which I gave to them, and told me to call back in three days again. Needless to say this went on for 2 and half weeks before I had the Dealership put a stop on that check and re-issue one that was sent over night. 3 days later they still are saying they have not received the check even though someone called the dealership and asked for more money as the amount had changed due to the late payment. I wound up having to pay $395.00 to keep it from going to collections even though they have cashed a check for $23,000.00. I will never use this bank again and will tell anyone who will listen. Seems it takes 2 seconds to cash a check but 14 days for the information to trickle down to the foreign call centers that they employ to help/harass you. read more

Where do I start? All their customer service reps speak Spanish as their first language. Can hardly understand what they are saying. Can we in the US not have Customer Reps who speak English as their first language? The Branch Managers are very poor with follow through---no one ever returns your call if you have a problem. I have multiple accounts; I went to my branch and said---hey instead of having Overdraft Protection, can I just set up an overages to withdraw from my Personal Revenue Account? It's my money---it's in the bank--if my other account goes over, just take MY money and transfer it into MY other account. They said "No problem!" They set it up. I go onto my account and two months later see they have been charging me $12 every time they took money out of MY account to put in MY other account. Are you kidding me? And they never informed me there would be a charge. There are probably $75 in charges because I was on the road and wasn't worried. Had I know of the charges I would have taken different actions. They said there is nothing they can do---the "bank just does that." I need a new bank. read more

As a condo owner you go through a month long tug of war with getting them to update their system with your proof of insurance. You have to fax over and over, make countless phone calls and send e-mails that they never respond to. They try and issue their own costly coverage and just torment you to death and all give the same response repeatedly ... "I don't show our system updated but it could take up to 48 hrs after it's received to be updated ... call back in 72 hrs". Even after you explain all the steps you have taken - faxes repeatedly sent, e-mails with attachments sent to the individual you are actually on the phone with etc ... they give you the same "canned" responses. I wish they would sell my mortgage to any other bank - they are the absolute worst! read more

The worst experience that I have ever had with any bank period. I had an accident on Jan 16 and 2 months later my bank and I after countless calls to all departments, managers, emails, etc we have still not resolved. When you call they (for the most part) are rude, short, and make promises just to get you off of the phone, yet when it comes to them collecting their money they have no issues calling or returning calls. I am now after almost 60 days have run out of rental car coverage and still expected to pay a bill of a totaled vehicle that with most institutions would have been resolved a month ago. They had all of their requested info with 48 hours. I will never use them or any of their affiliates ever again and would advise the same for others. read more

Regarding BBVA as a lender generally: Do not use BBVA for your mortgage! We applied for a Physician Loan through BBVA, a special kind of loan they told us our agent was very familiar with. She wasn't. There were times she clearly didn't even read my emails and I had to copy and paste what I had said in the previous message. More importantly, she was also far too fixated on checking off boxes than in working with us and what documents were actually available. Case in point: This type of loan is based off of a person's employment contract. They asked for an ink signed copy. I told them there wasn't one, as both parties signed it electronically. Our agent just couldn't get past that issue. I finally had to escalate to a supervisor, who was able to confirm that the version we had was acceptable. The biggest problem, though, was that they had the contract for five weeks, then decided there was a "condition" in the contract that we needed to prove was completed before they could give us the loan. Problem is, after that five week delay, there was no way to push up the matter with the employer (who views the "condition" as such a minor issue that they don't even check that box internally off until three days before you start work). We had to scramble to find another lender at the last possible moment because we were going to lose our home because of BBVA's five week delay and their new problem with the "condition." (The new lender was able to confirm for us in less than 24 hours that the "condition" would be no problem with their underwriters, as were the other lenders we spoke to--why couldn't BBVA check that right away? Why make us think for five weeks that everything is progressing fine, and then drop this bomb on us?!) After we closed on our home with the new lender, we contacted BBVA asking for a phone call--specifically giving our phone number yet again--to discuss a possible refund of the appraisal fee, since it was *their* delay and *their* fault we had to pay for a second appraisal through the new lender. After I followed up, I finally got an email a week later saying that wouldn't be possible since it had been *our* fault that we pulled out of the loan. I never did get that phone call, reinforcing BBVA's absolute inability to communicate and to read emails properly. read more
