Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is such a sanctuary for us to reconnect with Nature, reconnect with ourselves. You can find some other beautiful, less wild trails. Or you can explore this Ravine Trail, known for its wilderness, with most elevation change than the others. Deep shade. Tree community. Here and there you will see lovely bunnies and squirrels. Despite these facts, you still meet with other people here and there, peacefully and quietly making steps. And you might feel more safe because actually, you will hear the sound of cars moving fast in freeway. ( which I wish there is more silent and stillness ) All good. A sanctuary right in the heart of busy Houston. This is great! A BIG PLUS to me was NO MOSQUITOES! ( or maybe I was lucky yesterday.) I felt thankful for all of the effort and hard works contributed to Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. So we can have this beautiful place for our busy urban life. May we all have some time for ourselves, reconnecting to the space within, reconnecting to Nature. Best, Chloe P/S: very nice clean restroom located right at Nature Center - Wildflower Trail. Nature Center opens everyday 9am - 4pm. Plan ahead so you and your family can explore more.

But, overall the trails were nice, everything felt lush and alive! Bring water and don't forget to pay for parking. This spot is a great escape from the city.

An wonderful place to enjoy with friends, family, date night, or solo. They offer events throughout the Summer, like the one I attended yesterday "Sip and Stroll". This event gave access to a former home (residence of Ms. I. Hogg) turned museum, a stroll of the grounds including luscious views of Caladiums, and water features. Our entry fee also paid for a refreshing sherbet dessert, and a drink. These gardens are located on Westcott - to park you would need to continue down the driveway where there is additional parking and signage leading to the bridge to the home and grounds. This place is picturesque, and serene. You'd never guess something like this is nestled in Houston. If looking for a place to just breathe and reset while walking the paths and enjoying the plants, trees, flowers, and decor, or to enjoy a lovely evening with cocktails, this is the place to be. A true gem of a place. You'll love it! Enjoy!

The way he explained their policies was judgmental, and didn't even seem like he wanted to help. Horrible to navigate, and super confusing. I would absolutely never come back here again, and I would not recommend. Take your time elsewhere, where you will be appreciated.

This park is small compared to Hermann Park, but its just the right size for kids. They have ping pong, a golf station, few food trucks and climbing stations. Lots of green space for the kids to run around on and play catch, tag, or kickball. There is street parking and also a parking garage right on the other side.

The Michael Jackson playlist serenading us from the Gaspacho's eatery was nostalgic. Even though the Sunset Bingo MC was difficult to hear while seated on the grass, the staff were more than willing to rearrange some tables to accommodate the growing crowd. On my way to the (super clean!) restroom I I saw that they had a reading room, which made me instantly fall in love! They also have an arts & craft station with materials free to use. There were many families with young kids enjoying the water playground areas. The fact that they have family reservations available lets me know that this park is well aware of its draw and appeal. Birthdays? reunions? book a spot! The nearby restaurants and easy parking are major pluses. Levy Park has a packed calendar of events so I'm bound to be back before the summer ends.

The rose trees were few but I know I got a late start this year and will return earlier for best selections. I'm on their Facebook group and know they just got their David Austin roses in so I had to come in today and leave with two roses. Value is great - their hanging baskets are gorgeous and the proven selection ones were only $24.99 each. He was looking for Dallas Red lantana and of course he would find it here. I bought several herbs and other flowers. Also we got pictures with the Easter Bunny today! There are goats and chickens, too.
