My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.

This eventually allowed moisture to corrode the cable resulting in loss of power. The fence installation company said a. there is no proof it was their fault and b. they aren't liable for it. I got one quote of $17K to run a new underground electric cable. Mr. Electric gave me a quote of less than 50% of the first quote. Luke from Mr. Electric with a crew of 4 people plus 5 diggers finished the job yesterday. After the work was finished, they sent their inspector to make sure everything was done to perfection! I am very please with how thorough they were!

However, on one job, our tenants reported that the oven glass door broke. We dispatched our property manager who informed maintenance. The discovery was that the electrician failed to screw in the glass front of the oven, the tenant used the oven and when it closed the glass shattered. I've also been informed the handle is messed up. The tenant is a professional husband and wife and baby, not the kind of people who mess around with oven glass brackets. At first, we assumed it may have been caused by the appliance company replacing the countertop range, however this was ruled out after detailed discussions regarding what they did. They did not dissassemble or pull the oven out as Jay Electric had- the tenant witnessed both technicians, and was able to provide a video and photo showing a complete removal of the oven. Removal of the oven is not the problem- removal of the screws securing the glass and not replacing the glass causing it to be loose was the problem. Lack of attention to detail. Informed the company, provided details logically pointing to Jay Electric but they are denying responsibility and saying it was too long ago, which should not matter as a matter of principle but this company lacks principles it seems.

Honestly I really wish I could've gone somewhere else, but I'd already paid a deposit on their work not knowing that Ecoflow just contracted about any old Electrician, I guess.. Somebody came last week and checked the list of electrical work we needed done. He told my husband he's going to text the quote the following day. Fast forward to today (over a week later), we still haven't heard from them. My husband has called a few more times the last week and not a blip from them. I texted the owner's number last night and told him my hesitation in posting this negative review due to their extreme lack of communications. Still no response. As much as I like supporting local businesses, I'm also one who leaves reviews based on our experience (negative or positive). I don't recommend them and are now on the lookout for another reputable electrician.

Fantastic company. This was a small job but it entailed a risky approach to simply installing a…read morecover plate above a very high ceiling above a stair. Mission accomplished. This required very long screws that were not painted and this was handled as well. The second task was to repair/replace and existing fan, again in a peaked ceiling of about 14'. Initial job was to test whether power was reaching the fan. It was not. Net step was checking the switches and it was not. On to checking the switch which turned out to be faulty. Upon replacement, fan actually worked. I was very impressed that one of the owners and a helper showed up on time (acutally a bit early). Job required both a 24 foot ladder and a 16 foot ladder. Price was exceptionally reasonable (less that cost of new 400 fan I was able to return via Amazon. These folks are the true deal with service, great attitude and bi-lingual. Do not hesitate to hire these folks. Angel and his team are exceptional, quality human beings.

I just ran across this guy's business and thought that is the same guy that ripped me off back in…read morethe summer of 2024. So, I thought I would tell you guys about it: I only gave this guy one start because I couldn't give him less. This guy is incompetent. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. This guy has no business doing electrical work. I called him to come out and look at one of my rental houses. He goes out there and aggravates my tenant by not showing up and rescheduling last minute, then not being prepared when he did show up, (Didn't have all the tools he needed to do the job...Had to borrow from my tenant.), Then when he "fixed it" it wasn't fixed at all. Oh and he charged me $400 for his "repair". I ended up having to call an actual electrician. (Because this guy is a joke) They came over, diagnosed the issue and had it repaired within an hour. RUN, don't walk away from this guy.
