Years ago, I tried purchasing a Brittany from BD Kennels only to have the puppy sold out from under me. This breeder also keeps their dogs kenneled outside and has more than just a few dogs. Looking back, I'm thankful I bought puppies elsewhere, but I hope my review is indicative of this company. Unlike others, I bank with Navy Federal and used my NFCU debit card and was able to be refunded my money due to lack of completion by the breeder. We lost our dog due to cancer and our other dog was grieving so bad, we decided to get another dog. I have had three Brittany's and they were the best family dog that I wanted to get another one. I spoke with Donna a couple of times and she had two Brittany puppies still left and then a bunch that were German Shorthaired Pointers. I decided to drive out there on Saturday with the full intention of getting a Brittany but fell in love with a little GSP female puppy. She is wonderful. She is healthy, smart and loving. She is the best cuddlier. I would recommend BD Kennels to get your next Brittany or GSP puppy. read more

Buyer beware!! Please stay aware from this breeder, they are unorganized and have heard rumors of inter-breeding. They claim to be a part of all sorts of associations with championship lineage but the people that I have talked to that are well known in the Brittany community and social circles have never heard of Butch. We waited for 2.5 months for our puppy and not only did Donna not really know which puppy we picked, although we took several pictures, sent them to her etc... we always were wondering about whether we were getting our puppy due to her remarks. When we went up to pick out our puppy she mentioned what a perfect mask she had, although the mother Pearl ran around in circles for several minutes, which did not seem normal to me and I questioned it and they told me she always does that. All dogs are kept outside, which I did not like but was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. After several attempts to clarify and clear up whatever confusion she had regarding our puppy, we still felt nervous. The week before we are to pick up our puppy, Donna calls and tells us that she lost the entire litter due to a Pygmy rattlesnake getting into the kennel and biting all the puppies except one and the mother. Then 2 weeks ago someone runs into her on an Atv at a social event for Brittanys and sees her with a puppy and she tells him she decided to keep one for herself. We have no doubt that this was to be our puppy. We have since gotten our perfect puppy from Far Out fields and couldn't be happier, what a difference in the breeder, the puppies, the environment and Lee is beyond professional and is extremely compassionate. We know we will be friends for a very long time , he is great people and we believe everything happens for a reason, please do your research and these people need to stop breeding and retire and stick to their campground although after a few reminders we did get our deposit back, and she called the same night of the rattlesnake she tried to offer us a GSP instead, how thoughtful! read more

Love this place. Some of the most gentle beautiful dogs Ive ever seen. The brittany spaniels are just gorgeous. The GSP's are so sweet. I could never be a breeder Id never want to let them go. They take such good care of the moms and dads and the pups are basically spoken for before they are even born. Very nice people caring for them too.A definite recommendation from us!! read more

We drove a total of 4 hours to look at the available Brittany puppies. We picked out the puppy we wanted and Donna (owner) took pictures of the puppy to reserve it for us. We left a $200 deposit and was told the puppy can be picked up on August 16th. We were so excited to add this puppy to our house since we just had to put our dog of 6 years old to sleep. A couple of weeks have past since we chose our puppy and we just received a phone call from Donna tonight telling us that she "over sold" her pups and we would not be getting the one we chose. Extremely disappointed with B&D Kennels!!! We had an agreement, we left the $200 deposit and B&D Kennels did not live up to their obligation. Donna apologized for her error but that still does not make the situation any better. Where is my compensation for time and money spent driving to select the puppy that I did not receive? Here is the Bill of Sale that was not honored by this Breeder: "Thank you for purchasing such a special eight-week old American Brittany Spaniel liver female with championship lineage. This Bill of Sale is $1,250 +$88 (7% sales tax) +$55 for the Vet Health Certification -$200 nonrefundable deposit (07/06/2019) totaling $1,193. This breed is a great companion at home or in the field." Very very disappointed.....not a way to run a business!!!! UPDATE: Donna called me back two days later after she notified me of my puppy being sold to someone else and told me that the puppy is now available since her other buyer just backed-out. I told her that I purchased another puppy right after she notified me she is not honoring our previous Bill of Sale. Ten business days have past and I still have not received my $200 deposit that Donna told me on 7-28-19 she would be returning to me since she sold my puppy to someone else.
