After experiencing horrible breakage after years of relaxers, I had a sew-in weave for 2 years to let my hair rest and the relaxer grow out. I've been trying to find the stylist and shop I went to in Springfield where the stylist gave me heat damage (in 2016) and it took 1 year and a half to correct it. Vicki was fine at first and I only went a handful of times but the last time was the problem. She knew she did too much with the heat because I never got the usual, "it's time for your next appointment" after that particular visit. I really couldn't figure out why my natural curl pattern wouldn't bounce back. My previous stylist that retired let me know what was going on with my hair. I could've driven back to the shop (two months later) to show her what she did, but at that point I didn't want anyone to touch my hair at all. I got it back on track but it wes like getting a perm (she used the flat iron and hot comb) on 15-20 years of natural hair that hadn't been permed since the late 90's. I now have a different texture of natural hair since that experience, but I'm even more cautious as to who I allow to touch a strand on my head.
