From the moment we walked in, we were amazed by the incredible assortment of fresh, homemade breads, cookies, cakes, and more. Everything is beautifully made with obvious care and craftsmanship. The atmosphere at the bakery is warm and welcoming, and you can immediately tell that this is a place built on pride, tradition, and a true love for baking. Every item we tried was absolutely delicious, and the quality is second to none. It's rare these days to find a place where you feel like you've stepped into something truly special -- and Beach Lake Bakery is exactly that. We are so happy to have found this gem, and we'll surely be back many times. What a treasure to have right here in our own backyard! Highly, highly recommended!

They supply many of the better restaurants in the area with their outstanding breads. Lisa's bread was by far my favorite, nice crust, tart dense interior. Although the brie cheese and pear pastry was superb. The pies were delicious as well. I've never had a straight up raspberry, mixed berry or a strawberry rhubarb yes, but not this. The pie crust is very similar to when you make it at home- buttery, flaky, nice balance between the crust and the rich fruit. Their website provides the option to order ahead and then pick up.

After a month of reading reviews and making phone calls, looking at pictures and emailing our ideas, we decided Lynne with Sweet Sensations Cakes was the way to go. We scheduled our cake tasting 7 months before our wedding, in the middle of the winter, during a snow storm. Our GPS had taken us a slightly more difficult way to navigate when there is 6 inches of snow on the ground, and when we came to a point where we could no longer see the road, I called Lynne panicking that we had went the wrong way. She told us to just go straight and that there was a road there...unfortunately, that road was right next to grass which had snow over it, and we got stuck! We called Lynne once more and were so relieved when she told us her husband could pull us out and would be right over. He came within 5 minutes, hooked up our car to his truck, pulled us out and on to the road (about 5 feet away from where we were stuck) and took us inside. When we met Lynne she was so apologetic and sweet, offered us lunch and coffee, and of course, the cake samples in the flavors we had requested. I usually hate cake, I never eat it at weddings or birthdays, and rarely ever bake a cake for family members. Lynne's cake was AMAZING. I loved it! I joked that my only complaint was that she should have made bigger pieces to sample, because the 10-12 bites of each flavor just wasn't enough. She went over the design idea with us, gave us a price, and sent us on our way. The month before the wedding, she checked in with us, and we gave her our final number a week before as she had asked. The night of the wedding, when I saw the cake I was shocked at how beautiful it was! It was so simple and elegant, just like we had pictured in our minds. But the best part wasn't just the look of it; it tasted awesome. At least 10 people had told me how great the cake tasted and looked. I would highly recommend Sweet Sensations Cakes to anyone.

She said she would come up with something. Well boy, did she ever. We were all expecting a cake with a banjo design on the icing; instead what she created was just amazing. She replicated an entire banjo including the neck with strings, tuners, the works. And on top of that made a second cake out of cupcakes with an airplane picture on top for my birthday as we're all pilots. And to top all that, the cake itself had to be one of the most delicious we've ever had. Just amazing. If you're looking for goodies for your next big event, look no further than the treats that Karen makes. You won't be disappointed.

If that's not some kind of health code violation, I dont know what is. But pickings are slim in this tiny town and the business appears to have ok reviews, so I thought maybe this wasn't a daily occurrence and it was out of the ordinary. The woman at the counter was very rude and standoffish, as if I did something wrong by walking in at this time. I noticed the prices and figured they must be pretty good because everything was priced quite steep. Well, I would have preferred dog hair than what I found upon taking the second bite of a very bland, very outdated cupcake. Outdated like stale with icing that was stiff as a board. I was soon struggling to pull out of my mouth what appeared to be a long, blonde human hair that was wrapped up in the insides of my cupcake. Before you say it belonged to me, it absolutely did not. I know this because my hair is short and very brunette.I dont care who you are, that will absolutely make you gag. I threw out what remained after 2 bites, and it didnt hurt my soul by any means because the cupcake sucked, quite frankly. Hard pass from this visitor, never again.
