If I could post a negative number I would. I realize Kerri Shimp is no longer at this location but…read moreif you decide to use this company get 3 recent references at least. Over 6 years ago my Mom and Dad used them to help pack, sell and move the home. They had to move quickly as Dad had health issues and they needed to get in to a retirement community. Mom was the cleanest and neatest pack rat you will have ever met but she kept too many collectables, papers and stuff. My Mom filed complaints back then and told us how bad it was dealing with them but too make a long story short only reason I am posting now is that Mom just passed recently and as we were cleaning out her apt we found all the paper work from the move and subsequent letters from my Mom complaining and asking for breakdowns of sales, merchandise, etc. Seems they were charged thousands more by Kerri Shimp than quoted and were basically told to go stuff themselves. What set me off to write this review was I found out as we were cleaning out the apt from another local company they were told personally by Kerri that she was going to take every dollar she could from my parents. My warning is look elsewhere before hiring them and whatever you do DO NOT TRUST or HIRE KERRI SHIMP

Do Not use this company!!! My elderly parents used this company to move into a retirement place…read more This company was to sell the furniture & household goods that they would not use anymore. They went through their house & almost took everything!!! They didn't even ask my parents what they could take. They took furniture, a new refrigerator, clothing, dishes, computers, even their towels & bedding! Also some very precious antiques!! My parents were given back 400.00. The furniture that they did keep, were damaged in the move. The owner of this business told my parents that they would have to take it up with the mover? Are you kidding me??? It's called elderly abuse. This company is BAD NEWS!

He not only set up an entire house full of items for the sale but he exceeded our expectations in how quickly it was done. We were very pleased with the sale and how we didn't have to do anything but wait for the money! Would highly recommend Leroy and A House Full if you have things you want to sell when moving or otherwise.

However the sale took place over 2 afternoons only, starting at 4:30 in the afternoon and was NEVER ADVERTISED ! Multiple people made attempts to learn time of sale and it was not advertised anywhere . There was never more than 5 cars in the driveway during the limited time the sale took place . Then Lee Roy blamed me for the poor sale, was rude and condescending, referring to the contents as junk, that 2 months earlier he agreed to sell ! Lee Roy often stated he was a " professional" but failed to issue a correctly written check, which was rejected by the bank, when I informed him, Lee Roy told ME TO DRIVE TO HIS HOUSE for a replacement check . Lee Roy did not deliver on his promises made and was verbally abusive and belittling in following up . This is not professional behavior.

Daugherty Auction was hired by us to auction off my wife's grandfather's estate. I wish we would…read morehave checked references before we hired them, because they definitely lack professional behavior, especially after the sale. We had given the key to Daugherty so the broker could escort potential buyers through the real estate, but found out they were giving keys to interested parties and allowing them to walk through the house, unattended, with all of my wife's grandfathers personal property in it. They were asked not to do this when they were given the key. We feel very strongly that they totally rushed the last half of the auction because they were concerned about time, which really has an impact on per item peices. They did not auction all the items listed on the advertisement and said they forgot. They told us they were going to bring auction goers to the basement to auction off items downthere, that they didn't want to carry out before the auction, and never did, but then stated "they forgot". Because of this, we still have several items in the basement that could have been sold, but now we have to try to sell or dispose of ourselves. They sold items out of order so we feel that we did not get as good of a price out of them as we could have. For example, they sold the boat motors before the boat, but the person that bought the boat might have given a better price for a motor. We had a player piano with several boxes of scrolls for it. Chad (auctioneer's son) bought the scrolls himself and did not even try to sell the advertised player piano, so we would have had a player piano without any scrolls to play on it. Should have sold the piano first and then the scrolls or at least sold them together. When my wife asked why they sold the scrolls, but never attempted to sell the piano, he was extremely rude to her and basically the a temper tantrum and threw the scrolls on the ground and told his workers to take them off his bill. If course, this upset my wife and nearly brought her to tears! They sold the working Victrolla, but didn't try to sell any of the many Victrolla records that went with it! When we approached them to talk to them, they just turned their back on us and tried to ignore us. When we told him that we were trying to talk to him he said he was done and was getting the f*** out of here and going home, like a little kid! We continued to try to talk to Kelly (auctioneer, Chad's dad) and he asked why are were acting this way, since we had a nice auction. Like father like son, I guess, because he then turned his back on us and tried ignoring the situation, when were trying to work things out. We ttold them that they needed to apologize to my wife, which Chad did a little late, but then told them, "If you have any questions, call my secretary." Overall not a good experience at all! Based on my experience and observations that day, I definitely do not recommend their services at all! To be rude and disrespectful to the very people that hired you is kind of like drilling a hole in your own boat in the middle of the lake!
