BYDC is a great dance class option in Highland Park. My daughter nagar classes at four and is still going strong three years later. Now my three year old is taking classes as well. The Acro class on Fridays is great for the little gymnast in your life. My 3 yo takes ballet/tumble. It is a great combo class as that age loves to dance but also needs the tumbling energy to come out. Classes have rolling admissions and there is a recital in May. read more

I can't say enough about Krystal's talent, charisma and connection to her students! She's also one of the nicest people I've ever met! My two daughters had her as an instructor for camp and then followed up through her dance classes. They both flourished as dancers and for their love of music. They learned skills and how to connect to music and each other. Wherever Krystal teaches - follow her and enroll your daughters! She's wonderfully skilled! read more

Krystal is an amazing teacher and mentor. She has taught my daughter for three years and has taught her so much. She not only taught her to dance but taught her to have confidence in herself. Beach days are back and so is heavier…read moretraffic on the Garden State Parkway ;) I kicked off the summer at one of my favorite beaches in Jersey, Asbury Park. This vibrant beach city is known for its thriving art scene, LGBTQ+-inclusive culture, and historic rock-and-roll music venues. I'm a seasoned beach gal, so here's everything you need to know to make the most of your visit: PARKING: Paid parking is in full effect 7 days a week from 9AM-2AM, so don't bother looking for free parking unless you want to park blocks from the waterfront. There are plenty of spots near the beach, but on weekends you have to arrive EXTRA early to snag one. Your options are... -Metered street parking (hourly) -Lots with a flat rate for the day (way more $$$) -Bangs Avenue Garage (hourly) ADMISSION: Daily passes are $7 (weekdays) and $10 (weekends/holidays) per person. You can buy a daily pass or seasonal badge online or in person at ticket booths on the boardwalk. I swear I always discover a new installation every time I visit. FOOD/ENTERTAINMENT/NIGHTLIFE: There's a lot to do here! Food options range from grab-and-go spots to fancier sit-down restaurants: -Jersey Shore grub (funnel cakes, fries, pizza) -MOGO -Porta -The Robinson Ale House -Tim McLoone's Supper Club -Stella Marina Bar The nightlife here is filled with live music, beach bars, and rooftops like... -The Stone Pony (Hellooooo, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi) -Wonder Bar -Asbury Lanes (bowling alley that doubles as a concert venue) -Watermark -Silverball Museum Arcade -Convention Hall (hosts concerts & events) And that's why Asbury Park is such an incredible beach city. Just while searching for beaches in a 30 minute driving radius, we ran into this gem of a park that's so well maintained. They have ample free parking and the walk to the bay is so quick. The bay might not be the best to walk on as sand is relatively less with more gravels and getting down to it from the stairs is little difficult even for well grown adults. This could definitely be wheelchair accessible in a certain way. They also have few picnic enclosures and a memorial to one of their town's fallen soldiers. The walking pavement is neatly laid out for a calm, peaceful and relaxing walk. We went on overcast conditions and had to return to the car just before the rain caught up. Will definitely return here for summers to watch the sunset in this beautiful bay/park.

Well later I learned this is the best of all five in New Brunswick campus. The following are the reasons why it's such a disappointment to me: 1. I'm a morning person and prefer to workout first thing of my day, yet gym only opens at 7am which is already not early. On top of it, it changes hour to 8am, or 9am, sometimes to 11am during breaks or summer. sometimes won't open at all. If you're serious about training like me, you must be familiar that consistency is key. Yet the schedules make me think the gym is against morning people. 2. The layout of fitness room is a train wreck to be honest. Machines are way too close to each other. One can be in other people's way even when working out. It's not just inconvenient, it's actually DANGEROUS. Plus, there's only ONE machine for each exercise. The whole fitness room probably has the size of two decent parking garage. Which is WAY too tiny given the number of people on campus. 3. The whole building is POORLY designed. The parking lot is on the opposite side of the building so you get extra walk because of poor design. Another thing is, the building size looks decent yet it has so tiny space for fitness room. 4. The power lifting room is okay. It only has 4 squat racks and 2 deadlifts platforms. Not even 1/3 of my previous gym. But surprisingly, not many people use them anyway so it's good. There's always a space when I go to in the morning. So two stars are for the power gym. 5. The swimming pool looks great but I don't swim that much so the star doesn't include swimming. To summarize, if you use the gym mainly for lifting, you can go and get work done but don't expect too much more. My star might be biased cuz I've seen one of the best. But it's good for those who never have seen better because they won't have as much disappointment as I have.

I'm at Rutgers year round as a graduate student working on Busch Campus. When I have time to work…read moreon my fitness, it's usually at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center. This building is kind of strangely built. They have the main door to the gym all the way around the opposite side of the building from the parking lot. This is really annoying when it's rainy or cold or snowy and you have to walk around the needlessly long poorly designed path. The parking lot itself is way too tiny, especially when they open the gym up to high school swim meets and other special events. The way it's designed is also poor, since the positioning of the isles creates a bunch of blind turns. I've seen a few accidents here over the past few years. Once you're inside, they also insist on swiping your RUID badge when you walk in, which can get irritating. They have an Olympic sized pool which looks pretty nice. The general gym weight equipment area is way too small for the number of students/staff that are on this campus. They have rooms for spinning and racquetball as well. There are a bunch of classes you can take at the gym. They are quite cheap for Rutgers staff/students but it's sort of insulting that they aren't put into the tuition in the first place. Most of the classes are enjoyable though. I especially like the spin classes and RUFIT (which is kind of a mixed stations work out class). I just wish they had more classes later in the evening. The gym closes at 9pm and there are larger stretches of the year where it isn't open at all for breaks an things. The scheduling is inconsistent and always changing which can get confusing sometimes.
