It's a local spot that uses the best and most delicious ingredients. You can guarantee quality here. There is a lot of seating available inside and some spots outside. This place gets packed, but it's totally worth the wait. You order and pay up front then wait for them to call your name. I'm very picky with my acai bowls, I find that some places make them more smoothie and watery. I love it when they're rich and thick. Sol Bowls makes sorbet style bases which is why I'm so in love with what they make. I highly recommend ordering the Sol Bowl (I added cocoa nibs and coconut) or the Shore Break (if you prefer coconut sorbet with pineapple and spirulina instead of acai). Don't be deceived by how small the small size looks. It definitely looks like a lid, but it is still extremely filling. My only note is it would be nice to have a bigger small bowl (with the same current portion size) just to make scooping easier. If you want to add anything, I highly recommend adding almond butter to your bowls, it's a nice savory addition to all the sweet things inside. My friends loved the drip coffee and latte they ordered. I wasn't too crazy about the matcha, but once I mixed it more it was pretty good. ***PRICE*** The small bowls start at $9 with an added $1 for any additional topping you want to add. ***CONCLUSION*** If you're looking to feel tropical and beachy, I highly recommend eating the rainbow at Sol Bowls. As the images were taken today demonstrate, all care has been done to ensure that the current requirements for the safety of the customer and staff have been done, including separating the small tables from each other and allowing no more than 15 people in the store at any one time. Now, the inside remains warm and friendly with the aforementioned (see my previous review) art displayed prominently above the servers. Leslie has gathered a great team that brings the sunshine inside, no matter the weather outside. They are very friendly and helpful in answering any questions; it's like coming home after a long trip. It was a long drive from our home outside Wilmington, but oh, it was so worth it! I had a Pineapple Upside Down smoothie, and it put me right side up with the combination of flavor and texture. All that was missing (perhaps) was a wee dram of rum for that sailor-loving kick, but as they do not have a license to dispense such, I had to go without. Honestly, it was not all that great a burden to bear as the smoothie was delicious. Alas, it did not last long enough, but it did leave me with fond memories of our all-too-short relationship.
