It basically took me two days of calling to get this appointment .Once I got there, the guards were extremely rude asked me over and over again if I had an appointment. They asked me what the appointment was for they said well, we can't help you and we don't know why you're here. They wanted me out of there ASAP! I began to tell them that I spoke to someone on the phone and they were the ones who gave me the appointment for today! Anybody knows that you can't walk into the Social Security office and you have to make an appointment! I don't know why they think they're above the law. They're just rude. And they need to get over it. I would give this place a zero star, but that's not a choice. It wasn't until I got to the back and spoke to someone and he made me feel better. Here in Redondo Beach, the benfit of being somewhat suburban away from the big city of Los Angeles, and also being part of a laid back quaint beach city town is that the disposition of the citizens / residents as well as the employees creates a very pleasant environment. There's rarely a line and the staff are proactively friendly and helpful, with assistance and advice above and beyond the call of duty. It's what I love about living in the South Bay. Very competent and knowledgeable staff who will go out of their way to help you with patience, hand holding and a very caring, compassionate and polite white-glove treatment. The City Hall is located near the beach and has easy access to parking as well as having their own underground covered / shaded parking lot that's FREE too.

I have reviewed the Redondo Beach CERT and a couple of their stations but I have yet to review the RBFD until today. This past Sunday I was sitting in my home and heard a big thud. It sounded like someone dropped a pallet of wood but it wasn't. It was a drunk driver that ran into a VW Bug and flipped over. When I came outside she was trying to get out but she was unable to do so then she decided to start the car and flee...only problem the car was on its side. It only took a minute or two for the FD and police to arrive. The FD was able to get her out after securing the vehicle with cribbing then the paramedics got her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital and then most likely to jail. The fire department here is great all of them are also trained paramedics and it is nice to have help when needed even if you don't want it. Congratulations to Captain Rick Martinez for receiving the 2008 Medal of Valor Award in Sustained Superiority. He was one of 12 honored in the South Bay and the only fire personnel honored. So I had lost my passport in Mexico City. I immediately reported it lost online, and made an…read moreappointment to apply for a replacement passport at this USPS post office in my hometown. I downloaded the form, got all the required documents together (official birth certificate, front & back copy of official ID, passport photo) and brought my checkbook to pay the fees. When I drove here, it was a weekday morning. There was no issue finding parking, and there was a small line. It was not long before one of the post office workers helped me process my paperwork. She was nice, attentive, and efficient in her service. I wrote a check which went to the Dept. of State, and the service fee for the post office I was able to pay with card. This is one of the better USPS stations that I've been to. And I'm not just saying that because it's my hometown. They are efficient and professional in their service.
