My husband and I came here for the Valentine's special which included a 1 hour facial with Mindy and a 1 hour massage with Lovely. The spa name describes the space perfectly - a quaint, three room salon nestled on Main Street. The facilities were clean, and we were greeted with cold waters upon entering. For the facial portion: Mindy was terrific and knowledgeable in her craft. She explained each step of the facial, and asked thoughtful questions about my skincare routine prior to performing the signature facial. Mindy incorporated her massage therapy background into the facial by treating me to a scalp massage and neck stretch - one of my favorite parts!! My skin was absolutely radiant after an hour with Mindy (before & after attached). For the massage portion: My hour with Lovely went by far too quickly!! Come from an athletic background, it's hard for me to find a massage therapist that truly targets muscle movement and applies enough pressure to work through my knots. Lovely did just that. I have been going to see Mindy at Beach Cottage Day Spa for over a year now and my complexion has improved greatly. I'm 62 and my skin definitely looks at least 10 years younger compared to other women my age. I started with Procell therapy which I found very helpful and then continued with facials. Mindy is a very knowledgeable esthetician and takes time every session to analyze my skin and recommend a treatment protocol depending on what's going on. She's also been certified in massage therapy so I always combine my facial with a half hour scalp and upper body massage which is so relaxing. When my facial is complete, my skin is always glowing and I get so many compliments on my complexion. Additionally, her spa is located in a lovely part of Seal Beach with so many cute shops and places to eat and within walking distance of the water. I would highly recommend Mindy and her services and have given many of my friends and family gift cards. They've all had very positive experiences as well. read more

She took her time to get to know my aches and pains before proceeding to massage me. She explained her technique and I wasn't afraid of her working out my knots! The first job I ever had was working at friend of the family's beauty salon when I was 11 years old, so I've gotta confess....I AM A PRODUCT WHORE! During my mid-thirties my best friend convinced me to get a Brazilian wax and I was mortified at first, but after hearing how much her boyfriend loved it, I thought I'd try it. I first went to the Zen Spa in Huntington Beach (now closed due to the owner's divorcing, rest in peace, sad face)...and totally lucked out that I got Leako!
