They welcomed us to the Inn, gave us a tour and some fresh baked cookies. When we came downstairs in the morning Lauren had set out coffee and fresh baked crumpets. For breakfast she served overnight oats with chia seeds and blueberry compote followed by a tomato artichoke frittata and salad. Everything was excellent! Since we are avid hikers Greg recommended the Mount Battie trail which is within walking distance from the hotel. As we were heading off for our hike, Lauren provided us with more fresh baked cookies still warm from the oven. Greg and Lauren made us feel right at home as did their son Elliott. Elliott has a true entrepreneurial spirit and is very knowledgeable about the Inn and the area despite his young age. It was a pleasure staying here.

From the moment we booked our reservation, they began making us part of their family. Just talking to them and some of the other guests about life was relaxing and therapeutic. Also, the butler pantry is closed in the middle of the day, so no access to anything placed in the fridge, the ice, the water, or coffee. We had gathered with many of our friends for the weekend who stayed at Timbercliff and at other B&Bs in Camden. It has wonderful harbor views and is a short stroll to downtown shops and restaurants. We spent 3 glorious nights in the New Amsterdam Suite. The suite is quite simply huge with a fireplace in a large sitting room and separate bedroom (with a king size feather bed) plus a bathroom as large as an airplane hanger. The suite has two private porches and windows with spectacular views everywhere. While the structure is 140+ years old, it has modern and luxurious furnishings. The lounge is filled with jars of old-time candies. If you have a sweet tooth, this space is close to heaven on earth. As impressive as the inn is, it pales in comparison to the staff. They keep the inn spotless and running efficiently. Special shoutouts to Sara, Sam, and Hope. These ladies made our stay magical. Their attention to detail made it feel as if we were the only guests on the property. Our visit did have one negative and it was a BIG one. We had to leave!!!! Can't wait to come back for another visit.
