What can I say about the Blue Harbor House Inn... first of all, Matt and Michelle are so welcoming. They truly are amazing host. Where to start... The inn... this inn is situated within walking distance of downtown Camden, ME and is very convenient to get to. This inn has 10 rooms, dining area, little lobby area with community things such as a ice, bottles of water to take to your room, brochures for local attractions, games, dvd, etc. the history of this Inn is pretty cool. When we decided to travel to Maine, my mother said please stay here they have amazing breakfast every morning! I like food and I trust my mom when it comes to matters of food! Breakfast- each breakfast was absolutely amazing! Two course breakfast with blue harbor house inn coffee! They even have their own blend of coffee! Matt is the evil genius In the kitchen for the most part but don't let michelle fool you. Her French toast was probably the best I have ever had. Hands down. Sorry mom... Accommodations. Sorry didn't get a pic before we moved in for 4 days! But the room was nice. Michelle was kind enough to upgrade us to a little larger room before we arrived. The Queen bed, Little snug for the wife and I but who cares! ( I am a big guy and like my room!) The room was simple yet perfect for us, we did a lot of exploring the area. Afternoon snacks served at 4pm daily for all guest! These sweet treats were delicious.... again Michelle's banana muffins with a sweet crumble on top are to die for! Book your stay here! Tell them Blake recommended the place! They might actually remember me!

Such a great bed and breakfast. Michelle was great and so accommodating. The beds are super comfy and the breakfast was amazing. We stayed in charter house - perfect for 4 .

Lovely bed and breakfast, the owners were so nice!! Clean, comfortable, you feel like you are staying in their home. Breakfast was yummy as was the afternoon lemon cake !!! Michelle was just amazing, from helpful tips to leaving us chocolate strawberries for our anniversary!!!! Short walk to the harbor, perfect location!!

We stayed here for 2 nights two weeks ago it was great Terry and Annette a Scottish couple own the BB. It is in walking distance to the town so we never took our car unless we ventured out to other parts of Camden and surrounding towns. The room we had was spacious the bed was very comfortable shower was unreal with jets and steam, along with a sound system built in. Over stuffed huge chairs that were so firm and very relaxing, along with a gas fireplace. Breakfast is included homemade granola with fresh vanilla yogurt and eggs of your choice. Every morning it was something different, bottled water and afternoon cookies and tea compliments.

My husband and I had a marvelous time at this quaint bed and breakfast in Camden! Our hosts provided a 2 course breakfast daily with sweet and savory food and afternoon sweet treats of cookies and lemon cake. You will be happy with your stay in their rooms. We stayed in the Snug Harbor room with a separate sitting and king sized bed. Both Michelle and Matt were welcoming and helpful with activities to do. This truly a gem!

It's those little touches in the breakfast room that made for a great beginning to the day.

We had the most lovely and restful time at the Blue Harbor House. We stayed in the Chart House suite which had very comfortable mattress and luxuriously smooth bed linens. The bathroom had strong water pressure. This particular room has a small anteroom with two recliners and a tv and a second room for sleeping with a second tv. Air conditioner was sufficient but seemed very loud but once we got used to it, lulled us to sleep. . Windows were tiny and only one had a screen. Carpet has seen better days and this particular room is entirely wood paneled. Fixtures are a bit dated BUT in the way of a thrifty relative who doesn't see the point of changing our serviceable and good quality items just because styles have changed. Everything was very very clean, very very comfortable and served its purpose. We didn't get to partake of the afternoon snacks as we arrived late BUT the next mornings breakfast was outstanding in a beautiful country style room. Homemade granola parfait with fresh fruit and an individual quiche. My traveling companion was able to have an omelette made instead of the quiche at the last minute which he greatly appreciated. The host was amazing -- kind and friendly and full of great suggestions for local activities and meals. This B and B reminded me of the homey hospitality we received when traveling through Great Britain many years back. Really lovely and hospitable experience.

    Delicious Quiche Lorraine!

The innkeeper and other employees are very kind and catered to our needs attentively. The housekeeping service was great, there was a very convenient filtered water spot to fill our water bottles, and the ambience is very pleasant. The grounds were beautiful as well! We dined there our first night for dinner and drinks and it was delicious! We also had breakfast in the mornings out on the patio, also was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the bathroom in our room, it was very small. But this is an older building that had been updated, so I totally understand why it was so small and it overall didn't impact our experience, just something to keep in mind. I would highly recommend booking a stay here or stopping by for dinner/drinks when you can, it's a great spot in a great town!

One of us has significant food restrictions and was just inquiring about the menu posted online and whether there had been additions or changes. He acted as if this was an insulting or outrageous question and that we should have known that this has been the menu all summer. Having just arrived here we of course, did not know that and when we explained, he doubled down and asked why we would ever think that the menu posted online wasn't the current menu. We said we have frequently been to restaurants whose online menu does not always list what's available on any particular evening. He continued to insist that what we were asking made no sense to him. When we said that unfortunately we would have to cancel because there was nothing on the menu that would fit into the required diet he said he would be charging us $25 per person for the cancellation. We then explained that we thought we had a good reason to cancel and asked him to waive that. His response was to say that if we had been more remorseful, he would have waived the fee. It was as if he was blaming us for his rude behavior. At that point, we thanked him and ended the conversation. At that point, we thanked him and ended the conversation. While we understand the restaurants policy and normally would have been fine paying the fee as we know that cancellations can be difficult, we have never been traded as rudely as this, especially by a person in charge

The suite was spacious, extremely clean, and featured an amazing shower and an incredibly comfortable bed. We also happened to be visiting during an unusual heat wave, and the air conditioning did an impressive job--which was no small feat given the suite's two-story layout and high ceilings. Coming back to a cool, comfortable room each afternoon and evening was something we appreciated even more than we expected. The breakfasts each morning tasted every bit as good as they looked and kept us full until dinnertime! My husband was running late our first morning (we struggled to adjust from West Coast time), and Matt and Jessica kindly prepared an off-menu breakfast sandwich for him to enjoy later (which was fantastic, by the way). Admittedly, we weren't the most punctual breakfast guests during our stay, yet they couldn't have been more gracious about it. That level of flexibility and kindness certainly did not go unnoticed. Speaking of the innkeepers, I was impressed by how they managed to strike the perfect balance of being warm and welcoming without ever being over the top. They seemed to take their cue from each guest, happily engaging in conversation when invited while also giving everyone plenty of space to enjoy their stay. In my opinion, that can be one of the trickiest parts of staying at a bed-and-breakfast, but Matt and Jessica absolutely nailed it. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful details throughout that make it feel welcoming and special without being stuffy or pretentious. I kept thinking of it as "understated pampering". The location is also ideal--an easy walk to Camden Harbor, shops, and restaurants, while serving as a perfect home base for exploring the many beautiful destinations within an hour's drive. It's clear that Matt and Jessica genuinely care about creating an exceptional experience for their guests.
