Found the Spouter Inn while randomly cruising the internet for a B&B for my wife & I to stay at in "anywhere" coastal Maine. What awesome luck we had that day. The Inn is lovely. Mark and Tracy have everything perfect. The building, furniture and ambiance are all wonderful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the water in the mornings and afternoons. This was our first experience at a B&B and I really feel like every B&B after this will have large shoes to fill. Linda and Mark made our stay so warm and charming; their personalization on everything really shows and they want their guests to be comfortable, happy, and well-fed! We arrived early and were able to check-in, but were not even expecting to be able to go to our room since we were so early. Mark greeted us warmly and told us that the room was not ready (not surprisingly), but kept apologizing like it was his fault! He showed us around the house, which is so cozy, and gave us a plethora of things to do. The breakfasts are delicious and beautifully served. Honestly, I could go on and on about our experience, but you definitely should just check it out yourself. The only thing I will say is that the noise from the road is a bit loud (it's a busy street), but that really did not change anything. I would much prefer to be closer to the street with the beautiful view than farther away. Thank you so much Linda and Mark, we will certainly be back! read more

We Absolutely loved this place. So cozy and sweet. The owners are beyond amazing. They helped us carry our luggage from the car all the way to the third floor, and it was at the 50 pound mark when we got to the airport. The place is so clean and homey. The front porch looks out to the beach, and the rocking chairs on the porch make time pass so fast. Best location you can imagine. The owners do a homemade 3 course breakfast for their guest. The food rivals any upscale restaurant. Plan on eating breakfast in. We will be back anytime we are in the area. read more

Cannot say enough about our wonderful stay at the Spouter Inn. Beautiful historic Inn located a couple of miles north of Camden and across from the only sand beach in this part of the state .Linda and Mark are great hosts . They are genuinely interested in making your stay perfect. The breakfasts they prepare are three course masterpieces . The property is immaculate in every way . Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable We enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the bay, the fire paint and the common areas .Mark and Linda had many great suggestions for local restaurants and other activities. Don and Erin were so welcoming, and their breakfasts were to die for. I came in late on a Sunday, and they were quite accommodating. They had some cookies and tea waiting for me, gave me a quick walkthrough, and ushered me right up to my happy little chamber. The furnishings whispered New England charm. I had a great bed with a memory foam topper and as many comfy blankets as I wanted. The bathroom was perfect and even had a few sample soaps. Descending the stairs brought me to the parlor, complete with a fireplace, bookshelves well stocked, and local reference material, including tide and ferry schedules. I enjoyed a really nice evening by the fire, reading my book and indulging in s'mores with their homemade marshmallows. My first breakfast included a perfect portion of sour creme cake, fresh berries in a green tea syrup, homemade cranberry sorbet, and the grand finale blueberry beer-batter waffles. These waffles were so fluffy and crispy, and Don added a touch of cracked black pepper to the batter for an unexpectedly savory flavor. Yum. On day 2, I chose the creme brulee french toast, and I was not disappointed. Breakfast started with a pecan shortbread served with homemade applesauce from the neighbors' apple trees. The french toast was an egg-soaked piece of baguette from the local market, French and Brawn. In the center of the bread was a custardy-delightful cream. Fresh berries and kiwi accompanied the toast, as well as 2 slices of pan fried ham. Not only did I get a great off-season deal for 2 nights, but they included a gift package with Ski passes to the Camden Snow Bowl (where you can ski and see the ocean!!) and Spouter Inn mugs so that I can always remember my stay! I usually tell people, "Sure, I'll be back to visit!" But this time, I mean it. I'm looking forward to visiting again later this year! read more

We had a fantastic stay! We have a 15 month old and they made us feel welcome and ensured we would have enough space. The food was delish.

Perfect, relaxing spot! Can't wait to return!! The Inn is conveniently located to restaurants, artisan shops and a small public beach. Quick drive to neighboring towns, hiking, mountain views and other day trip activities. The Inn itself is clean and well maintained. Our room was extremely cozy and enjoyable with a fireplace and seating with ocean views. The only thing more memorable than the panoramic bay views was the food and hospitality! The innkeepers, Don and Erin, are impeccable hosts. To our pleasant surprise, Erin had printed out recommendations for local breweries and shops for us when we had arrived. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. They had fresh apple sauce from the trees outside and the best crepes I have ever had. The inn itself is astounding! Our room was the perfect blend of historical charm and modern conveniences (the Keurig in room was a great touch!). I can't say enough about the beauty of the rooms, the building and the wariness of the owners. The view is breathtaking. We where able to walk a couple hundred yards the the whale's tooth and had an excellent dinner. Our bed and room were immaculate. Really, I cannot recommend a place more highly. My wife and I recently stayed at the Spouter Inn and we're so glad we did. Mark & Linda were fantastic hosts. Very personable. Every room was comfortable with great decor. Breakfast was spectacular and I loved the fact that every night they give you a couple of different selections to choose from. Nice area with an excellent winery in Lincolnville called the Cellar Door. Also lots of nice hiking trails nearby. Several nearby towns such as Camden, Rockland and Belfast are worth visiting as well. We plan on returning next summer. read more

I cannot thank the owners of this establishment enough. My father took my mother here for their wedding anniversary and they enjoyed every minute of it. Not only was their stay lovely, but Erin and Don were extremely understanding when my mother needed emergency surgery and insisted my father stay with them for longer then he had planned instead of referring him to a motel. Great experience! walking distance to the ferry to isleboro and a couple of lobster shacks. 5 min drive to camden. the rooms were large and well appointed, fire place was all ready to light with a very well prepared stack of kindling and wood. All we had to do was put a match to it. To our surprise the Inn was being run by a couple from Williamsburg for the summer and they were really nice and informative. They sent us to The Shepherds Pie in Rockport which was a great choice and we had a delicious dinner. Totally recommend the b&b. good breakfast, good rooms, good people. read more

I am not one to write a review. However, I felt so deceived by the web site and what I thought I purchased, that someone must really tell the public what is going on. I just wish I would have read beyond the first few reviews and found the two or three people whom told the truth. Boy do I feel dumb. The most powerful picture on the web site is what you first see. A beautiful home, with a large back yard directly on the waterfront. Just let your small kids run free and play, fish or throw rocks in the water along the private beach, AS YOU SIT on the porch and watch over. Wrong! There is this major highway in between the house you see and the water. There is also a large public walk way. This picture is really a big lie, yet the owner chooses to deceive you to make you think this is what they are offering. Shame on them!!! Although the central air conditioner (controlled by one thermostat for six rooms) was on when we arrived, late in the evening it was turned off. Therefore, we had to open our windows about 2 am, when it was hot. At 4:00 AM you started to hear the rumble of large trucks traveling down the highway, and it never stopped. Hope you bring ear plugs if you stay here, if you want a full nights sleep. Believe me, the loud road is much closer to you than the water they show in their picture. Although the house was refreshingly new, well kept, as many are in this day and age for the price we paid, the need to deceptively advertise by showing the public a picture that is not true, is wrong and deceptive. I for one could never build a business on deceiving my customer base, and think I was a good person. They put a lot of time and money in this house, where the need to deceive people is not necessary. To bad the owners do not believe in themselves and their hard work, where they feel they must deceive you to get you in. You really need to ask yourself why you liked this place when shopping on the internet. We where deceived by false advertising. If I would have known there was a loud major highway in between the water and the home, I would not have selected this Bed and Breakfast for this occasion. And the owners know this as well, as this beautiful picture is what makes them stand apart from the rest, when selling you a room on the internet. This was suppose to be the highlight of our trip, as we booked the best room for a romantic evening and walk on the beach just off the deck. What a dud of deceit!!!!! read more
