My husband and I had our wedding July 9 at the Farmhouse Inn. Ann went above and beyond throughout the whole planning process, answering every question we had, tailoring everything to exactly what we wanted, all while she and her team worked their tails off to finish the beautiful new barn and bridal suite! The barn is open and airy, with a big deck, lawn space, and a great dance floor! The bridal suite is beneath the barn and has everything you could want or need, and in both private and convenient. There are even 5 guest rooms upstairs, each with a full bathroom! Truly, the Rioux's and their team welcomed us like family and made this event so intimate and amazing. There is thought and care in every corner of the venue- truly words can't do it justice- and I haven't even mentioned the food yet!!! THE FOOD!!! Every bite was SO GOOD!!! I'm a native Mainer, but for many of our guests, this was their first time here, and we really wanted them to experience Maine's seafood and fresh summer flavors- oh boy, did Ann and her team deliver!!! We had lobster, we had blueberry cobbler, we had steak so tender you barely needed a butter knife to cut it! We also had the best crab cakes of my life, and I'm a hard sell. Ann and her team are the reason our wedding was the best weekend of our lives. I couldn't have planned a wedding from across the country without her, and I never imagined someone could be so warm and loving and welcoming to strangers as Ann has been. I cannot wait to see this venue continue to grow and host more events- truly, Ann and her team are any bride's dream come true. We'll be home to visit in September or so, and we can't wait to stop in and visit and hear how the rest of the summer has gone!! Without a single moment of hesitation, I want to shout Ann's name from the rooftops and recommend the Farmhouse Inn to anyone.

Long dark hair in the shower- definitely not mine

I can see why this place gets some weird reviews. I wasn't going to say anything until things just kept adding up. This place is kind of strange and uninviting. Service is nonexistent, it's more of a check yourself in and figure it out yourself thing. Find the light switches, feel your way up through the darkness kind of place. I don't know about breakfast here because it was not mentioned and there didn't seem to be anyone around in the mornings the weekend I was there. The owner gave her number but was unreachable, also there is no cell service and the WiFi is unsecured and very spotty. Both staff members I met for a combined total of 1.5 seconds before they rushed away, asked me if I was there for a wedding and when I said no just kind of rushed off. Odd interactions and the owner did this creepy canned smile that was the most disingenuous look I've ever seen on a persons face. The rooms are TINY and HOT! You're upstairs in a barn so all the heat rises to your room. there is only one window in each room so cross ventilation is only possible when the door to your room is open to the public hallway. There is ac in the hallway but not the rooms, it's just there to tease you about how cool you'd be if you slept in the hallway. There is no ac in your room only a fan and the curtains on the window somehow don't let much air through when open but they let all the light in when closed. If you're trying to sleep go somewhere else. If you have more than one person or suitcase larger than a carry on good luck. You'll be tripping over everything. This place is like a very expensive self serve hostel and I would not return since there's so many other nice places nearby. Also included are pics of the hole in the window screen that was patched with toilet paper and scotch tape. It let bugs in all night. Also the long dark hair I found in the shower that was definitely not mine. I wrote this at 3am my last night because why not I can't sleep anyway it's 80 million degrees in here I waited to post it so creepy owner doesn't slash my tires only added a star out of pity and the bed was comfy. had no chance to verbalize any of these issues directly as I never saw a single other soul or got a call back. I'm not even sure any of my calls connected.

My husband and I are born/bred Mainers, looking forward to celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at the Inn. We read the policy and booked two evenings. However, on our way up, our car broke down and we had to head home, trauma in itself. I called right away to cancel and explain the circumstances to the owners and hoped to receive some other future booking there, rather than loose our cash. The unfortunate answer was no. They refused to make any refund or bend their policy in any way. My husband wrote a kindly email explaining our situation, once again, but never received a reply. We understand the need for policies and support that, but flexibility for certain unavoidable circumstances should, we believe, also be considered. Their lack of any empathy to our situation and uncouth, unpolished manners reflects very poor customer service and cancels any future wish to ever stay at the Blue Hill Inn. These innkeepers are clearly from away and do not, in any way, mirror REAL Maine hospitality! So, if you book there, you'll loose your money, if you have to suddenly cancel, even for an unexpected accident or God forbid a death!!

We were on our honeymoon and she was more accommodating than we could've ever wished. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Fuchias line her lovely wrap around porch; the garden is like a Victorian dream. You can see views of the wonderful ocean and sunset from the cupola. She was sweet enough to allow our service dogs to stay, and she spoiled them rotten. She had every type of drink and sweet, snack, chocolate and treat you could ask for (at a minimal fee). The house is beautifully decorated. The bed was the most comfortable bed that we've ever stayed in other than our one at home.We spent one day in Acadia and found the drive between Sargentville and Acadia absolutely beautiful. Annie even had a perfect picnic basket in which she allowed us to pack a wonderful picnic to take to Acadia. She also recommended an awesome local spot called the Fishnet that had amazing lobstah rolls ;) If you're looking for a nice place to stay that is not a tourist trap, it's totally worth the drive. We quickly realized that Wi-Fi in the entire Acadia to Sargentville area is very limited. Although Wi-Fi is available at Annie's, it is limited. I had issues on my laptop, however my husband watched an entire movie on his iPad. But, seeing as we're from the mountains, we were completely understanding of the fact that when you're off the grid you should get off the Internet. I have already recommended Maplehurst to several friends. Annie brings southern hospitality to the most northern part of the US.

There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!!
