Everyday steak deal $13 at Beach House
    Zebby A.

This is my favorite place to have lunch. I think I've been to beach house around 30 times over 3 years living in Brisbane, for its 'everyday steak deal' which is under $13 you get good size of steak, salad and chips. My boyfriend and I were living in brisbane CBD which was just 2 blocks away from beach house so we literally went there for lunch a lot. We both love steak, and Beach house has got the best steak plus mushroom sauce by far. We've been trying a lot of other steak around brisbane-goldcoast but we always come back to Beach House. I also like seafood so I enjoy the seafood basket here. Huge portion which fits 2 people. Sometimes on weekend it has nice live band.

While out for the night out with the Mrs in Brisbane looking for an easy place to have a few drinks. Beach House was just right. It had a great causal atmosphere, cool live band and good selection of beers and other drinks. The menu looked fairly extensive and the service was great. It is right in the centre of the CBD near the mall so was just a short walk from out accommodation. Would be happy to go back next time I'm in town.

I remember spending almost the entire soccer world cup at the Beach House Bar & Grill. The atmosphere there was absolutely perfect for such a big event; charged with loud and drunken energy, with rouseabout sports enthusiasts constantly screaming at the widescreen TVs, egging their favourite teams on. I think the reason the Beach House Bar & Grill is so perfect for such shenanigans is that it's really a group atmosphere. It's the perfect location to go for a meal or a few beers with mates when you want to stay in the throng of the action. It's also in a prime location in the middle of the city, so it makes for a great meeting point and central venue. I have actually never had a bad time at the Beach House Bar & Grill, but maybe that's because I've mostly gone there with boys? It's definitely a boy atmosphere, but girls will still get a kick out of the fun-loving ambience and live Friday night music. Beers are pretty cheap by the jug and the place is a great buzzing hive of activity when the weekend rolls around. Beach House is always a starting venue, never a finishing point. So get in and have a few beers to start the night off with a bang.

I use to drink here a lot, not because I particularly liked the set up, but it was so conveniently located right outside the bus station in the Myer Center. The wine list is average but as long as I stick to my Poets Corner. Coupled with their volcano wedges and it becomes a nice Sunday afternoon drinking spot. If you're looking for a good meal deal, Monday is their Steak night - $9.90 for a rump, chips and salad with any drink purchase. The Beach House is definitely a bar for the blokes. If you are looking for a girlie catch up over wines, stay away from here on a Friday or Saturday night. It's crowded, sweaty and filled with loud, live music. Bah! Humbug!

Nice open-air, yet covered, deck with music, TVs, overlooking the streets below. I've been here on three occasions as it's conveniently located to everything else. Crowded at night but plenty of seating in the afternoon. Ordered the burger, chicken and steak sandwich. Overall good, not fantastic. Steak was dry. Beer selection is okay, about a dozen beers on tap. Not exactly sure why you have to order food at one counter and drinks at another. I'm sure they have their reasons, but inconvenient. Not necessarily kid friendly, but there are families hanging out. No table service.

Quinoa pumpkin salad with chicken. Good sauv on tap!

Eh, it's decent. I wasn't overly impressed with my salad with chicken. It wasn't very flavorful. This is attached to the Queen Street mall. It was really busy when I had lunch here on a Saturday. The bar is nice though because you can read each liquor bottle and see the prices they charge for each. That's a really nice touch so that you don't have to ask or hope that you're not breaking the bank.

We wanted a dinner venue where we could catch up over a few cocktails, enjoy a good meal and catch a cricket match. Arriving around 7pm, the place was very quiet; the host said we could sit at whatever table we liked; he expected that it would get a lot busier as the night went on. Being somewhat tired of burgers and chips for dinner, my friend and I both totally loved the food here; everything is exceptional, and the menu has a nice, broad selection; it's easy to find a dish you'll like. Tip: Over and above some outstanding food, they have an excellent selection of locally brewed craft ales - just the ticket to enjoy while watching some cricket ;-)

For me, the $15 steak special is unbeatable, while my partner swears by the haloumi salad. So far everything we've tried on the menu has been well above average and the prices are always fantastic. The selection of beers on tap is impressive indeed. As I am usually designated driver, I stick to the Brisbane Pale Ale, which is by far the tastiest light beer I've sampled. They also have cider on tap. The average price for a pot is $4. On a recent visit my mate could not believe the value for money on offer. The Brewhouse has ample seating out back, along with an outdoor section. I'd avoid the Sports Bar. Service can be a little slow at times, but I'm usually very happy to sit back and relax with my beer. There is a handy car park in the rear. Street parking is almost impossible, unless you don't mind a walk.

But the layout of the place is even better! It is a basement bar, half of it outside and the other half kind-of-inside. Very spacious, clean and with good selection of beer (albeit mostly mainstream beers, but a lot of them). Very comfortable, with some big TVs and also music. Good people watching too. The food is good, not amazing, but you can't expect amazing in such a central, tourist-y area. I had the wings and they're a solid 8/10, at least. Service was great too. Shout out to Elise behind the bar.

However, like most of the pubs in the CBD, this one does close quite early (though late enough that I was able to slip in here for a drink one night). There is nothing fancy or flash about this pub - expect the standard beers on tap - no craft beers. It also has a pokies area and a bistro, though there is a pool table tucked away in one corner. The beer garden is pretty cool as well, but unfortunately for the smokers it is not the designated smoking area. During the day it does get fairly crowded (though I have never noticed anybody out in the beer garden, despite it being a pretty nice day), but it was fairly quiet when I was there.

I returned 9 years later to have lunch with my parents. Although I'm not a footy fan, I quite enjoyed myself. When you walk in, you can turn right into the pokies room and lose yourself in a wash of rainbow, neon machines begging to take your dollars, one by one. Beyond the pokies is the Halfway Cafe, where you'll find a fine pub lunch. My mother and I are suckers for buffet, so we went downstairs and got the smorgasboard ($20 each excluding drinks). The buffet stations are huge. It's the standard soup- salad- vegetables- carved meat- pasta options with some surprising added extras. The cheese kransky is delicious, the spring rolls are more-ish if nothing else, and the grilled octopus salad is succulent and juicy. There is also quite a large assortment of asian cuisine including honey king prawns and sweet and sour pork. The only inconvenience is having to go to the bar and pay for your drinks separately. You've got a wealth of tables to choose from- booths, or window seats, so you can watch the Broncos train while you dine. While you're there, go have a gander at all the old jerseys and trophies. My favourite area is the wall just outside of Alfie's Bar that has old photos of big beefy footballers who were snapped while getting tackled, and getting their junk yoinked up to their armpits. There's some corkers in there, let me tell you. Even if you're not into footy, Broncos Leagues Club isn't a bad place to have a beer or to have a sit down meal. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
