I have never in my lifetime rented any place so dirty. It is obvious that the Property Management company could care less about their guest's health and safety. I would like for them to stay in the house they rented to us for a week and see how they would like it! Beach Realty is the worse company I have ever dealt with. Stay away from Dolphin's Song in Corolla (1269 Clearwater Lane). This house had black mold so badly the wood was disintegrating! The air filters were long past their expiration date and were covered in dust, the house wreaked of mildew, the carpets had food remnants from the previous renters, the bed linens were stained and we were unsure if they were actually clean, the couches had food wrappers in them, food stuck on the dishes, stained and filthy carpets, potential bed bugs, ants, garbage littering the property and the hot tub had broken pieces all of the deck and ground. We spent a large part of our vacation trying to clean this place to be habitable for the week (if I could have flown home early I would have). The company offered us our cleaning fee back and that was all. We had three immunocompromised individuals and two asthmatics with us. Beach Realty is useless and in talking with others that we met, this is not unusual for this company! Stay far away!!!

Absolutely disgusting, will never use this company again. We stayed at 2173 Sandpiper in the 4x4 area. One bathroom had what looked like vomit all over the floor still, poop on the toilet and a bag of trash left in the sink. There were weeds and trash left all around the pool. There were other things such as: - metal curtain rods used for the shower curtain that were so rusted you couldn't even close the curtain. - Broken chairs and hammock swings just left on the porch - Dirty stained linen and curtains - Coffee pots still had dry coffee in the bottom We called to have someone come out there and finish cleaning and we're told someone was on their way - no one showed up! All of these things are small easy tasks that could have made a world of difference to us. Again, very disappointed and disgusted.

We had to cut our vacation short after staying in the very disgusting Blue Moon in Crown Point in Corolla. The house was very dirty upon arrival. There were ants throughout the kitchen and in drawers. The property is a disaster with overgrown shrubbery. This was a particular problem because there were rodents/ animals in the walls that woke us up each night. It was particularly noticeable behind the bathroom walls. There was something nesting in the storage area of the garage. I called Beach Realty and they addressed the ants but not the animals. If that wasn't bad enough the popcorn paint on the kitchen and living room was falling off in sheets. The droppings landed all over the kitchen floor, counters and our food. I called again without this being addressed. The part of the ceiling that did not have textured paint had so much condensation that it was literally dripping on us. We couldn't sit on the couch or on the bar/ island without getting dropped on, this again includes our food. We got tired of calling and left early as we no longer felt safe with the materials falling on us and the animals scratching the walls at night. 4 hours into our trip home the maintenance man called. He told us he was off for 2 days and just now getting the service request. He did say he sees the ceiling issue but of course a few days late and $3000 later I have sent e mails and pictures to Beach Realty without this being addressed. They said they left a message......and they were sorry for the inconvenience. This experience was a little more than an inconvenience. This house should be condemned. Beware of the railings on the decks, they don't seem to be secure Shame on you Beach Realty

The listing was inaccurate, and several amenities that were clearly advertised were either broken or not available at all. Some bathrooms didn't even have basic supplies like toilet paper. One shower had such low water pressure it was completely unusable. The dishwasher was broken for the entire week, which meant hand-washing dishes for 14 guests, three meals a day, for seven days. That is not what anyone signs up for on vacation. The house itself was not properly cleaned. There were cobwebs on multiple surfaces, visible rust throughout, and an overall neglected feel. For the price we paid, the condition of the property was unacceptable. Customer service was effectively nonexistent. We reported the issues, and nothing meaningful was done to resolve them during our stay. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. Also worth noting: reviews appear to be filtered, showing only glowing feedback. Based on our experience, you are not getting the full picture when you read the listings. For the amount of money these homes command, expectations should be much higher. We would strongly recommend considering another rental company. You've been warned. Terrible consistent reviews on TrustPilot, Yelp and many other pages. The feeling is clearly unanimous and Twiddy clearly does not care.

While we were pleasantly pleased they let us check in early, we had many issues from the start. They did send someone out to address a few things right away but not everything was dealt with. Would not recommend staying here if you have pets since the grass is never cut and yard is very overgrown. Lots of snakes and ticks. We called to inform them but nobody ever came, even though we were told they would . House has serious sewerage issues. Feces came up from the drains and caused the entire floor to smell like crap. We called multiple times and someone did come out, but the guy told us the owners needs to have the sewage cleaned more often and it's never done. This happened 3 different times while we were there. I expected a call from someone , anyone, to follow up.... I even messaged a requested a call from management multiple times ... was told they would call me, but after multiple excuses over a week passed and I never received a call . I did get a text saying they'd refund us $500 which is nothing in comparison to what we paid and the disgusting issues we had to deal with .

Wish we would have re-read the reviews prior to our stay. All issues that has been described by previous guests were still a major ongoing issue with this house. Prior reviews showed AC was not working for multiple guests. Upon our arrival, 3 portable AC units & 4 box fans were setup on the upper level of the house. The lower level with the bedrooms smelled of mildew (along with horrible mildew stains in one of the bedrooms) & all bedrooms were hot & humid. Had to move all the box fans downstairs to sleep the first night. We first tried to see what Resort Realty would do for us but after seeing the past reviews, along with the conversations we were having with Andrew at Resort Realty we could tell we were getting the exact same run around that was given to others. Maintenance guy & HVAC technician both came out to "look" at the what the issue was but it remained way to hot in the house. Thankfully, I booked through VRBO. They got my family of 9 moved to a house that had working AC after the 2nd night of a horrible start to a family vacation. Worst rental company I have ever come across.

They charged me 10% of my total bill $803. That's some "booking fee" for them considering the house was only off the market 6 weeks one year in advance.

This rental property failed to provide basic necessities and supplies to make an extended stay comfortable. If you're going to require your guests to "...gather all dirty dishes and run them through the dishwasher," then you need to supply dishwasher soap. If you ask your guests to "wipe down the stove and oven daily..." you ought to provide some type of cleaner. Sheets and blankets had holes in them. Most of the blankets had people and animal hair on them and stunk. When we went to wash the blankets the washer turn knob came right off making the washer un-usable. Bathrooms were dingy and dirty. We weren't allowed to put the thermostat lower than 72 degrees which means there was likely something wrong with their system but they don't want to get it fixed. Many of the outside lounge chairs were cracked. The whole experience was disappointing to say the least. We'll be avoiding this home in the future.

We rented a beautiful oceanfront house in Duck last week, and the experience was nearly ruined for our group thanks to Village. Special shoutout to Nikki and Noah for being particularly incompetent and unhelpful. Timeline breakdown of our experience and pictures below, lest the company dare accuse me of exaggerating our account of events. Day 1: Upon 4p check-in, we thought we'd driven up to the wrong house. Multiple commercial trucks blocked the driveway, and the house looked like a construction zone. Railings were MISSING on the steps and back balcony; equipment, nails, wires and boards were strewn everywhere (see pictures). Contractor stickers were still on recently-replaced windows. The pool we'd paid $350 to ensure was heated and cleaned was cold and filthy (see pictures). Our group couldn't even get in the driveway. Everyone was shocked and upset. I immediately called Village and explained the situation. I spoke with Nikki and then Noah. At first; they did a good job of at least appearing to care. They asked for pictures, which we promptly provided; and claimed to have no knowledge of the owner scheduling construction on the house for that day. They offered dinner coupons to a random restaurant for our group. When we made it clear that wasn't going to cut it, and we were concerned we may need to move to another house altogether due to the associated safety concerns, they told us they'd make the situation right, would send us alternate rental options, and wouldn't leave that day until they'd addressed our concerns. That ended up being total lip service, because after I hung up the phone, they completely ghosted us for the rest of the week. No follow-up contact whatsoever. When we called back a few minutes after 5 the same day, they'd closed up for the day, in spite of assuring us they wouldn't leave before making the situation right. The contractors didn't leave the house until 830 that evening. They left a massive pile of boards and construction materials in the yard, along with nails still strewn everywhere (see pictures). These remained for the rest of the week. Day 3: Monday morning I called Village back and spoke with Nikki. She sounded less-than excited to hear from me; didn't ask any follow up questions about our situation from Saturday, and said she'd have to transfer me to Noah to discuss restitution. I wish I were joking, but she put me on hold and NO ONE picked up. I waited 15 minutes (15 minutes!!) before hanging up and calling back. They were clearly screening my call because no one answered. At this point, I'm in shock that a company with such pathetic customer service and obvious blatant disregard for their customers is still in business. I sent a follow up email requesting a callback. Shocker: no response. Day 5: After giving them over a day to respond to our email, my partner and I decided to drive to the Corolla office in person. At that office, we meet with Noah - (supposedly) a different Noah, who tells us he will send a message to the Noah we spoke with and have him follow up with us. Surprise surprise, we hear nothing. Day 6: We try calling again, speak with someone who won't give her name and tells us Noah conveniently isn't working that day. At this point, we're so disgusted with Village that we decide to ensure everyone on the internet knows about our experience. Hopefully, owners with otherwise beautiful houses will think twice about the associated guest experience repurcussions and avoid working with Village in the future. We ve been coming to OBX for many years. This is the first year we've ever had an issue with the realty company. Please do yourself a favor and rent with anyone else in OBX but Village.

We decided to shift to a pet friendly house this past week so it wasn't a three-peat . However he's still a puppy and was way too interested in chasing cats, and this one particular fox. So we just booked for a September stay in 2015, without Smuckers. I can't say enough good things about this place, and its owner. In all the years I've been down there I have never had the owner pay a visit on day one, which by itself says a lot, but there was also a gift bag. I try not to forget anything, but inevitably I'll forget one of the following; garbage bags, paper towels, pin for an air pump, batteries, etc. In addition to all the goodies one might forget, there was also a bottle of wine. Who does this? What an amazing gesture. With that said, even without the owner's kind actions, the house in and of itself is great. I don't know what their repeat rate is, but it has to be high. This house is perfectly located in Corolla, close to both Harris Teeter (which if you are still one of those people going to Food Lion, stop it, just stop it right now) and Tim Buck II. I'm not going to sit here and detail the house out, check out the site and trust me that it's as advertised. I will say that you should note that the pool is heated at no additional cost; this is usually not the case. The weather back in 2013 was amazing. High 70's the first few days and low 80's the rest of the week. And no wind! My better half is what made this trip the best one I'd ever had in the time I'd been going. Every morning you make yourself some breakfast, a bloody mary, and you watch the sun go up on the dune deck. Then you set up your beach spot. Head back inside to shower up, fix up another bloody mary and you walk along the beach (3 miles, 5 miles,7,8,9,11 - a little sore after the last couple). Come back and jump in the heated pool, out the beach, make some sandwiches, back out to the beach, then back into the pool (Chicken Balls!). Before you know it, it's 5PM and time to shower up and get ready for dinner. And that's every day - life is good. If you've narrowed it down and Page's Place is a finalist, or if you're just on the fence about it, get off the fence and jump in the pool. You will not be disappointed.
