Went here based on yelp reviews and was not disappointed. The registration process was quick as I was renting a wave runner to take my daughter out. Went over the safety briefing and they lead you out of the channel to the gulf. They do not start the time until you arrive in the gulf which I thought was very cool. One note is no lockers for your personal stuff but they hang onto your license as a deposit and will put your keys with them. Overall, I was very impressed with this operation and will most defiantly be back. read more

I come here whenever I'm in town! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I have rented Stand Up Paddle boards twice now and each time has been great. We get a safety briefing before going out on the water. The body of water(Lemon Bay) is nice and calm most days. You get to see dolphins and manatees if you're lucky! I find the pricing to be fair for the paddle boards and their other rentals. They are located next to a restaurant and a gift shop so stop in when you are done your activities! read more

We had a group of 8 with lots of teens. The guides were great at helping the kids get set and enjoy their time on the water. There was fog on the gulf when we started, so we started on the intercosstal waterway. They kept checking to see if it was safe to head out in the gulf, and when it was, they escorted us out there. The jet skis were great and they are very generous with the hour as they don't start until you enter the Gulf. Highly recommend using them if you plan any water sport rentals. This was a convenient location for us. The day was beautiful. We rented a pontoon and got out on the water only to find a problem with the motor. We limped back in and they were more than professional about it. Even offering not to charge us even after we were outa few hours. We rented a pontoon boat that has many issues. The fuel gauge was broken, the hull was taking on water, the bimini top was broken and the seats were ripped and torn. The staff was very rude also. There are several other great places to rent a boat from englewood so consider avoiding this business. It should have been a warning sign to us that every boat was parked at the dock on a busy summer weekend. Buyer Beware! read more

My family of 10 had a blast on the pontoon boat. We look forward to doing it again as it was very cost efficient and fun! The guys recommended a couple restaurants for us to stop at for lunch. They were very knowledgeable about the area and the boat. They are located in the Wine and Bistro parking lot. The good: we got our money back. The super friendly staff gave proper instructions about water safety and navigation, which will be crucial for what I'm about to tell you. The not-so-great: Our family of five rented a sports boat for a 4-hour Saturday afternoon cruise. We are from Minnesota. We have boating experience. Have even owned boats. As we pulled into deeper waters, we noticed the steering wheel was weirdly jiggly. We figured this was just another worn old rental. We continued along, happily, near-missing a car toting barge and other speeding water cruisers. THEN, an hour into our cruise, as we steered into the canal toward Don Pedros island, WITHOUT WARNING, our steering wheel suddenly disengaged and veered a hard, boat rocking starboard. We spun viciously to the right, our 115-pound mother nearly flung into oncoming vessels. Seconds later, we were unable to do much but float, our steering wheel a useless circle. We bobbed in the weeds. We remembered our instructions: dressed our boat in its blaze orange distress flag, tied extra rope to the anchor, and attempted to get a ride from passers by. This marked the end of our "four-hour" ride. We called Beach Road Water Sport Rentals and, within the half hour, their trusty employee spun up on his Jet-Ski, hooked himself to our rickety bow and we sunned ourselves as we inched back to shore. Once landlocked, they asked, "How did this happen?" We told them. They were sort of suspiciously incredulous but they waived our fee and we went our separate ways. All in all? The staff is great, but I'd double-check on your boat's condition before signing any waivers or committing yourself to charting the waters of Englewood Florida's Lemon Bay. read more

Awesome experience and worth every penny! Coming from Indiana, we knew very little about our surroundings. These guys escorted us out to the gulf and took the time to answer all of our questions. We saw at least 13 dolphins while we were out. 2 of them were literally within 10 feet of our jet ski! Amazing! Better than going to any contrived water park where the dolphins are trained. My only warning is to really watch for shallow areas. Unforgettable experience, accommodating staff and memories for a lifetime. read more

I was recently on vacation in Boca Grand, FL and my friends and I were interested in renting Jet Skis. There was nothing available "on Island" so we consulted the Yellow pages for rental places "off island' but within a half an hour drive. The one place we found was Island Boat Rentals in Englewood, FL. So we hopped in our rental van and drove to the address. When we arrived there wasn't anyone to help us. A passerby informed us to call the number on the sign. It was 10am. I called got no answer. My phone rang back a minute later. It was the owner requesting that we be patient and he would be there in an hour. This was unacceptable to us as we had passed another Jet Ski rental place on our way. We returned to the place we passed: Beach Road Water Sport Rental. We were greeted by 4 enthusiastic young men, eager to assist us. The paper work and payments were completed quickly and efficiently and we were each on a Jet Ski well before 11am. If you are looking for a place to rent Jet Skis in this area, I highly recommend this outfit. The staff is friendly and super professional. When we return to Boca Grand next year we will definitely have another Jet Ski excursion with these guys. read more
