My review of the Boardwalk Pub & Café is elsewhere, but after we ate walked along the boardwalk. The beach is gorgeous, not at all crowded on this warm-ish September afternoon. A little windy for me as a beach day, but there were plenty of people enjoying the beach. There are bathroom facilities nearby, a plus. Opposite the beach is a stretch of novelty shops, a casino, an arcade, and many places to sit for a bite or grab a snack on the go. Parking is plentiful; there are lots along the beach and on side streets. There are concerts and events throughout the summer, so I'm sure the place is hopping then. But it's a great place to visit off-season as well. I will return!

Pros: The campground itself is clean, bathrooms are clean…read morehas a pool , small camp store . Close to beach Cons: The woman running it runs it like an early 1900's nun that hates children. If she could hit them trust me she would. Yells at kids for riding their bikes too fast, across a side walk , jumping in the pool when nobody is in the pool they'll kick them out. she's got cameras everywhere she watches so she can yell at them. you have to be with your child at all times even at the playground with middle schoolers. tent sites are in a swamp w standing swamp water behind the site. sites are Tiny. The big ones are 15x30 you can't even set up a ten person tent , and 5 chairs around a firepit without pulling your car in at an angle. you cant even idle through the campground bc that is too fast. I'm not exaggerating . read the other reviews . Unc is miserable If you are retired, hate children , and have a camper this place is for you. (hey this is said middle schooler editing the review, I remember very little about this trip but what I do remember is as follows: My mom was fully correct about all of this, but on top of this when my friend's family arrived with their dog, because they likely didn't go to the 1,203 word long rules list (proof attached) Teresa the Witch said to, and I quote, "dispose of it." That just makes it sound like she wanted the thing dead, which honestly, she likely did. I also distinctively remember "carving" the words "screw you old lady" onto the roof of the small ass playground, so even back then I hated her. I also remember her getting angry over small things so it was very funny to rage bait gramgram by riding bikes too fast. The rules are insane, too. Some of the highlights include "Children must be kept quiet during these hours" which makes it sound like there's a hostage situation going on, (which there likely is ngl)," Campers and their guests and/or visitors who are uncooperative or violate rules may be asked to leave with no warning or refund" which I'm surprised that only 1 review mentions this happening, and even supposedly for bringing up an issue, WHICH THEY ENCOURAGE YOU DO("If there is a disturbance, excessive noice, any complaint or emergency, please notify guard at once."), and "No balls or throwing devices are allowed", which completely makes the "Large Playing Field" just for running, I guess? yeah I don't have that much else to say, but everything Dana J. says is a complete lie apart from not putting up with rule breakers and being "well monitored".)

The sites range from level to very uneven. The main roads are paved and not terribly steep. Some of the sites are tight quarters to your neighbor others seem to have a bit more space. Lots of shade! Rustic shower buildings that are coin operated at 25¢ for 5-6 minutes. 50¢ was plenty of time. Dish wash stations are located at these buildings which is nice for tent campers. Internet can be good if you pay 3$ a day for a premium code. This is good for people who work remote. Pro tip for campgrounds. Install premium, premium internet for traveling professionals. We will pay for a good connection. Beautiful campground. We would definitely stay here again, we recommend it over a KOA any day.

Yes, it is a ramshackle place, it is rustic, but it is also a public service to have some real estate available for camping in such a treasured area. I give extra stars here for a friendly staff, the amazing views from the cliffs at the north end of the campground, the variety of sites--some may not be to your liking, but they are flexible enough to let you move to where it works best for you. Some things are just adequate, like the showers, and the narrow road from the mainland, but the camp store is good, the giant rock formations for building a campfire are awesome, and you are down the street from Wingaersheek! Worth mentioning--you can call them on the phone, and a person picks up!

We have been seasonal campers at Tuxbury Pond for 2 years now. Tuxbury Pond has so much potential…read moreand could in all honesty be a truly lovely camping resort. Currently it just falls short. It's not because our rates aren't high enough, they charge as much a season here as they do at Danforth Bay. which is a true Camp Resort also located in NH. The beginning of this season started off poorly between the lack of grounds upkeep, we had our leaf bags sitting at our camp sites until July 4th weekend. I had a dear friend from Maine who rented a tiny house back in January, she confirmed 2 times both in March and early May. She was literally driving down the driveway at 4:10PM on Memorial Day weekend when she received a call that her reservation was canceled because she has 2 dogs. The online system allowed her to pay for the stay and put the pet's info down. No apology was given to her simply a cancelation. My husband was available and could have taken her dogs to our home, but she wasn't allowed any options. The more upsetting part was, I was trying to convince her to become a seasonal with us, needless to say, the bad taste didn't go ago. We too contemplated going to another campground. Others in the area that are less expensive and offered comparable amenities however we fell for this year's staff and the hope improvements to the campground will be made. John, the Activities Director was such a delight. Always hardworking with creative ideas on how to make Tuxbury Pond more pleasurable and engaging for the campers of all ages. The office staff both Carin & Kate were always knowledgeable with a quick smile and helpful hand. It would be great if there were a little eatery on the grounds sometimes you don't want to cook and it's another social place to gather with other campers. The Lodge would be perfect for a little sandwich/ pizza joint. Also the store is handy but if it offers more of the emergency staples, that too would be helpful if you needed bread or forgot the eggs, you need to run to the grocery store. In closing, for us this next season will be the tell-tale season. If we don't see improvements or if there is another season with ALL new staff, we'll be moving on. Sadly, I see more and more campers and trailers pulling out of the campground. I do hope upper management starts looking at the campground and not their wallets. But I can say the campground is safe, family orientated, and the campers are very friendly and welcoming.
