They cater to their customers that play the system w their prorated monthly charges. If you've been paying full price all month long and you want to tan on the last week of a month-good luck! Wait times will be excessive since everyone that didn't want to pay for a full month is trying to get in their tanning at the end. They need to have a way to call ahead and get in line if you're a customer that pays for a full month. It's pretty ridiculous. Almost unusable unless you have 30-40 minutes to spare. If they want to offer bargain options, just do weekly or biweekly passes that are the prorated pricing. At least that way the customer flow would be spread out throughout the month instead of everyone trying to come during the last part of the month. I am def looking for other options. read more

Been coming to Beaches for a while as a monthly member for spray tans & red light. (Massage chair every once in a while too when I have the time, SO good!) Well worth the money in every single way! Definitely splurge for the monthly unlimited membership because once you start, you won't be able to stop! Ava is AMAZING!! She always keeps me well informed of promotions going on, new products that may help my tan look even better, and is overall just a ray of sunshine every time I come in! Unbelievable that this place keeps earning lower stars. Paying for a "Gold" package, which is between Silver (lower) and Platinum (higher). They only have 1 bed that falls under the Gold category, so you're always having to wait for others to finish (um, maybe get a couple MORE beds?). Then when that only bed is "down", they offer you the Platinum bed upgrade, but you have to PAY for the upgrade!?! Oh, you can use a crappy lower-end bed no problem, but, because we are not able to provide you with the service you PAID for, we want to charge you MORE money to "make the customer happy". This place is so poorly managed it's ridiculous. I just asked the counter employee, "so, you're STILL not offering complimentary upgrades to customers who pay for Gold and are unable to utilize the services they already paid for?" She replies, "umm, I don't know. But you can pay for the upgrade or just use the bottom level bed." What business anywhere anymore doesn't automatically bump you up to the next level purely out of the inconvenience THEY are causing?? I've posted on here before for this business, that the General Manager or Owner of this place really needs to keep up with customer reviews, because the communication between management and employees is terrible, that is unless management isn't aware that they aren't offering the complimentary upgrade. Or, sadly, the owner/manager has zero experience in business and customer relations and is intentionally causing these issues for customers and voluntarily not catering to them with an obviously-deserved upgrade. I searched high and low after falling in love with the tanning bed while I was in California. I researched several tanning salons upon returning to Utah... I'm so glad I found beaches!! They have several locations, but I go to the sandy location. The interior and clean and modern and a friendly face is always there to greet you! Their key card admission is fast and they get you in and out in no time! Blake deserves a honorable mention!! He is friendly, knowledgeable and always asks how my day is. He also answers the many questions I have and seems interested in getting me the most use out of their many services... I purchased the diamond package which offers unlimited tanning, spray tan, massage chair and red light services. This is based on a Groupon experience as I didn't regularly visit. I figured I'd give it a try and get a spray tan. Went with the darkest color as I was already tan, paid for some sticky feet to stand on during the spray session and an accelerator that was supposed to help with color. I ended up spending another $15 on top of my $20. Just not what I expected and then I didn't see a shade of color change anyways. The facility itself is however really large and I'm sure there is never a wait for a booth, it is clean and very well ventilated, just not sure if I would ever go back since it's a little pricey for the one time I went in. read more

Scam! When I signed up they didn't say you had to cancel before the 15th of the next month but when I saw that was the case I cancelled my account as well as froze my account. I froze it (for $5) so I could cancel it before the 15th. I still got charged when I called to ask why the lady said the cancel canceled out the freeze. This makes zero sense when I wanted to do both. read more

They truly Only care about selling memberships. I spent 30 minutes waiting for them to let two people smell their lotions they were trying to sell when I could've been done with my whole tan in half the time. It's not Hard to scan my membership card and let me use the open room. I pay $65 a month for the highest membership, you would think their customer service would be a little better. read more

This location has decent beds and the whole place is very clean. My main complaint is how hard they push their sales. I went in looking for somewhere to be my regular salon and felt that if I ever signed up for anything that I would be pressured into spending more still. It was incredibly uncomfortable, then when I said one vaguely positive thing about one of their lotions they tried to sell me multiples. Beaches Tanning Center in Sandy is the best !!! Right from the front desk all the girls treated me like a queen!!! I gave them a brief over view that I'm only in town for 3 weeks and they gave me a tour before even showing rates which is awesome because they aren't just out for your money. Lauren was so helpful and knowledgeable ... I immediately wanted to sign up because their beds/booths/chairs looked awesome and of quality! They have great deals on memberships and lotions!!! I walked away with a the strongest level unlimited tans and red light therapy ... 2 lotions for only 75 bucks!!! An amazing deal!!! Lauren is a rockstar!!! I found this place with Groupon, the very first time I entered the staff was polite and talked me into a membership and lotion. Sadly went in only 3 more times and have paid for two additional months that I didn't need due to not wanting to walk in and deal with the people. The staff pretty much ignores you and treats you like an inconvenience if you ask a question at all. Finally called and literally on the voice prompt it tells you to email to cancel. Just emailed two days ago and got a response today (the 21st) that because I didn't cancel before the 15th they will charge me for November as well. I have been going to beaches for a long time, I live in the Herriman area, but today, my day had me in the Sandy area, so I went to the beaches there. I loved the vibes, positivity, customer service that Jaycie provided! It was pretty busy and she stood out to me because she was the only one working there, and even though she was super busy and being pulled in several different directions; handling the phones, answering customers questions and took her time to do it in detail, but also making sure the other customers were acknowledged, and all with a positive, sweet, up-beat attitude! I felt she definitely deserved to be acknowledged herself, because my experiences like that seem very few and far between these days. I will make a point to get to Sandy more often! The beds are really nice. The only problem is the girls that work there push their lotions on you so hard literally every time I go in. I really like that I can walk in and have smiling faces who are always happy to help. The girls here are very productive, professional and friendly. The facility is really nice, it's a shame the service is a joke. The beds are great and the staff, well...as an example of the staff, I've been to many car dealerships that have pressured me less than this tanning salon. It's like they are completely desperate. On my last visit I must have said NO over 8 times to packages and lotions. I'm fine being asked once, maybe twice...but after the 3+ times it really starts to annoy people. I thought after my first visit it would go away, but finally after my 5th time there over 6 months, I will never go back. The sales tactics got worse and worse. When you say no, you get crazy attitude and horrible body language. Save your money and your and your time and go somewhere else where they actual treat you like a human rather than a sale. Unbelievably bad taste for whomever teaches these girls this kind of customer relations behavior. They might make a few quick sales, but they need to understand that long term clients are worth much more than a quick/HIGH pressure sale (bottle of lotion). If they had some tact most people would continue to go there and would probably eventually buy their rip off lotion. Even if they think they are successful after someone buys lotion or a package, I'll bet if they track those clients most of them do not return due to the horrible sales experience. Good luck Beaches, you really should start selling used cars outside in the parking lot as well, you guys would kill it!!! read more

The tanning beds give you such a beautiful even color and they don't pressure you into buying extra products if you don't want to. They even asked me if I'd like to use the message chair (helps your tan because of better circulation) while I waited for my desired tanning bed! read more

Been going to this salon for over a year, been paying my monthly subscription cost on auto withdraw, with no late payments, or returned payments ever, very good customer, never had a complaint, and all of a sudden, out of the blue, I go into tan, they ask what lotion I am using and I tell them the lotion I have on, and they tell me that I can't use outside lotion. Well, I didn't read that in the pamphlet that I was given when I signed up, and it certainly isn't on the website ANYWHERE!!!! They offer to sell me something to use that day, I have already got lotion on, so I say no and tell them to cancel my subscription. I have to do that on the website, they can't help me, go figure. So me, not buying lotion from them lost them a customer, although I was a regular and paid on time all the time. What is more important, a regular good paying customer, or the poor little girl at the front desk getting her commission on an overpriced bottle of lotion. She said that the cheap lotion degrades the glass on the tanning beds. Well I looked at the lotion that I did buy from them, and the lotion that I had on, and there are exactly 4 ingredients on the non-designer bottle that were not on the in store bottle. Yet there were many on the in store bottle that weren't in my 'knock-off' bottle. Their bottle had citrus peel extract, acetate, alcohol, acrylic Acid, WHAATT!! Who's lotion is degrading the glass? Mine had cocoa bean leaf extract Macadama Ternifolia Seed Oil, no acid or alcohol. Needless to say. I have cancelled my subscription and will now be a dedicated monthly, on-time, auto withdraw customer elsewhere. BYE-BYE read more
