Ross is a chain of discount department stores founded in 1950 in California by Morris "Morrie"…read moreRoss. In 1958 Ross sold his store to a real estate developer who franchised the store to 6 locations. In the 1980's the stores were sold to real estate investors who grew the brand. The company now operates 1,483 stores in 37 U.S. states. I have a love hate relationship with this chain. Their prices are great and generally everything else is horrible. The checkout line is always long, the dressing rooms are disgusting, and they treat you like you have already shoplifted them. Still I keep coming back because where else can you find a dress for under $20 and I can find a gift for anyone on my list here. This Ross was a pleasant surprise. I stopped in because my friend got me hooked on sparkly, inexpensive, and surprisingly comfortable sandals by Andiamo. I lucked out and they had a couple of pairs in my size. Unlike my past experiences with checking out, this was painless. This Ross seems to be a bit better than some of the others I have visited.

Compared to some of the Target stores I visit most often, this location feels a bit smaller. Because of that, the aisles and departments can feel more crowded and condensed. That said, they still carry the grocery items and everyday essentials I typically shop for. On this particular visit, I was shopping with my nephew in the toddler clothing section. While we were able to find a few items, the selection felt somewhat limited compared to locations like Deerfield Beach and Coral Springs. The department also didn't seem quite as organized as those stores. One thing I did appreciate was the number of self-checkout stations available. Even when the store is busy, the checkout process moves relatively quickly. Overall, this is a solid Target location for everyday shopping.

I like to do my nails at home usually and Target makes it easy to find what I need The employees I have encountered are always friendly and helpful. I buy food here sometimes and have even discovered new brands. I like how large the store is so it never really feels crowded. They seem to always have the right amount of cashiers. We'll done Target.

The selection of clothes at this store is great. They have lots of girly and pretty clothes. I wish I could fit into them. The prices are very reasonable. There are many things that Target sells that other stores do not. I bought some limited edition Method soaps and frozen pizza made in Brooklyn. I am excited to try both. I am a member of their rewards program. I don't find I save much money with it. They have some offers in the app but it seems to be for items I don't usually buy. Well-organized atmosphere with a great selection that offers reasonable enough prices. Not much else to say except that it's a cut above other big box stores. I was hesitant, but once me and Teddy, my dog, got inside. We came across several other pet owners. That's pretty cool! Teddy and I walked the length of the mall while my partner did her shopping. This is one of those high-end malls! But they also had some very good food vendors in the hallways where I got the majority of my snacks and I even got some snacks for Teddy. I was hoping the cute little dog park on the outside would be available to us, but it didn't open until 2:00 p.m. And we were at the mall fairly early. It was a great visit because most of the employees were dog friendly! I'll definitely have to make a trip back to this mall without a dog.

Back then, the S Bus would drop you off at the entrance of the food court and the mall was just 2 floors but look at Aventura Mall now! Completely unrecognizable to the Mall I remember as a teen. Especially since it seems like the average stores I remember are gone and it's all Prada, Gucci, and luxe stores now, but I'm not gonna knock it too much as I took full advantage and stocked up on my Nespresso pods while I was here. At least they still have JC Penny's. I was able to find a Miami Hurricanes shirt to bring back to my dad as a gift. They also have a Joe and the Juice store which I always stop by when I'm here and get a green tonic from them. I have to admit; I like how they revamped the food court so that its modern and has a wide variety of options. They even have a ramen kiosk! We also stopped by the new Eataly store, how can you not right? We didn't eat anything there, but I took advantage and bought some items they had priced on sale. In all honesty, I could see myself coming to Aventura often if I still lived in South Florida. I've always it made it a point to come here when I do visit and will probably continue to do so in the future.
