Great cafe to come to! Solid 4 stars from me. Lost track of how many times I've been here over the years.. (definitely well over 30 times). I've always loved their coffee, very smooth & not watery (I drink my coffees black). Came here with 2 other brothers to hangout and talk over some coffee on Sunday. It was nice. Very clean & modern interior. They have a nicely set up outdoor seating area along the side of the store as well (which they didn't have before COVID). Great place to come by to study, chill, relax, or hangout with some friends or family. They have so many awesome drinks on the menu & a wide selection of brunch items/pastries to choose from if you want a quick bite to eat. I like to have a nice coffee shop near my home. I always support local restaurants and cafes. The owner seems nice but the workers there need more training. Their time management isn't good. They work slow and inefficient. Most importantly, I don't know if i should call them barista, they don't seem to know how to make any latte or cappuccino. It takes very very long time to make it and then it looks terrible and tastes bad. The latte was lukewarm and ice cappuccino was messy and wrong balance with foam and ice. It is sad that the owner can't see how they loose customers because of their employees are clumsy. I rather now go to The one of kind cafe near because they just make better coffee. I'm writing this as I drink the lukewarm off -balanced latte. I wasted $5 for it. I also don't understand that they make the place like a unorganized storage room with piles of boxes. Cute cafe that provides a great environment for getting sh*t done. You need to write a paper for a class? It's likely there are a dozen or so other people in here doing just the same. Need to read over casework, a will, I don't know, your pet's vet bill? Take it to task here because B&B has fostered a great study environment where you'll want to get your work done. Even with their location on the corner of Northern Blvd, where we watched two people get pulled over and the flashing lights from the cop cars cycled throughout the cafe, we still weren't distracted. There's lot of seating, a section for laptop dwellers and a section for those who just want to people watch the poor folk of us on said laptops. I've only had their regular coffee, rose and white wine, which is nice that they can offer wine and beer. I also tried their avocado toast, which was hearty. I would suggest, if you're not into a kick, to get it without the red pepper flakes. I do wish they had some more menu options, heck even the desserts seemed to be a bit lacking, but that's something that can always be added. Very cute and modern coffee spot! Spent the afternoon here doing work. There are large tables and big windows, perfect for natural light, which serves as a perfect working spot location. I got some coffee and a turkey sandwich. Both were good, nothing out of this world, but tasty. The music can be great for working, but some songs I think weren't try the best for working conditions. I was shopping for beans and found that there was a branch nearby, so I stopped by in store to try some of their single origin coffees. The Guatemalan Gesha was bright with lovely floral and citrus notes I came by on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty packed, but there's plenty of seating space and outlets. They actually have a good assortment of communal tables and individual seating. My friends and I ventured here just after an hour at the nearby playground. We were thirsty and needed hydration. I was on Yelp earlier and noticed it was a trending new business. The kids were liking the simple but comfy decor. I was enjoying the air conditioning and sitting on these oversized seats. Nice. I must mention the monkey bread from the bread section. It was light and delicious. I would totally get that again. Baked with cinnamon and brown sugar with a buttery soft texture. I also ordered a cup of the organic Lemonade. For fifty cents more, you can get it with a fresh mint leaf. Didn't bother. My friends shared a green tea latte which looked great. This is one of my favorite study/work cafes. The only down side is parking. It can be very hard to park here since the lot is constantly full and the spots outside are mostly metered. Neighborhood parking can be the best alternative. This coffee shop and roastery is all organic and now offers a wide variety of lunch foods, pastries and even wine. I usually get a cappuccino or corrado here and I like both a lot. They have a rewards program but it's hard to tell when you get a reward. The baristas are very nice, patient and polite. PLUSES: + Natural lighting and the large windows is great for working + The music is pretty appropriate to study with and at that perfect, calm volume that's not disruptive at all. + WiFi is reliable + Transportation wise, the Q12 stops right outside of the cafe, which makes it easy enough for me to get back to Flushing. Figured that if I'm willing to commute out an hour to Manhattan for a work space, I can also commute 45 minutes out to Douglaston. Got a small honey latte ($4.90), which was alright. I ordered a acai bowl today it comes with banana , blueberries, coconut , sunflower seeds, granola and strawberries. When ordering on line I asked for only strawberries and granola which I order many times. Today I picked up the bowl only had a little granola and 1 single strawberry sliced on one side for $13.00. We've been going here since it opened. Their honey latte, hot or cold, is quite good, and a gold standard. They remained open through COVID as best they could, so props to them. I'm a bit unclear about what they're doing with the food offerings - the sandwiches, breakfast, salads and bowls seem to come and go - but the food's been good. Monkeybread can run a little stale though. Tends to run crowded with the 20 somethings working on their Yelp Elite status or flaunting their LSAT/MCAT/USMLE books. Sometimes you get the joker wearing scrubs in public - so impressive, and so non-sanitary for us and your patients! Then you get the mix of ajummas, or new baby moms gathering for a break, or the occasional local who doesn't know what USMLE or Yelp Elite means. Two of the walls are floor to ceiling windows, south and east facing, so there's a lot of sun, if not too much sometimes. Shades are absent. I miss the couch area seating - they took much of this away for storage from their other locations, it seems - and it needs to come back. One suggestion to the staff would be to lighten up and smile a little - most of you seem fairly sullen. You don't have to resent my non intersectional appearance!
