I love Bean and Bean and the mother-daughter partnership to make great coffee available and encourage us to "take it slow", sloth style, and enjoy the little things in life. Service is friendly and efficient. Nice ambiance for hanging out or studying. Always crowded. Roasting facility on site. Smells great.
This cafe is so cutely designed. It's industrial but it's balanced out with a homey feel with the wooden tracks and chairs. When we ordered, the cashier/barista was soo nice. She even let me and my bf try all the Ice cream flavors. I thought the matcha flavor was so strong which I love. I got the tropical harmony and it was pretty good. It was sweet even without added sugar. I would come here again to try different drinks here. It seems like they take their coffee seriously.
My first time here since it was Scobee diner. Needed a little pick me up and decided to finally try. Place and ambience is interesting with an open work area for packaging and grinding beans, I'm assuming. This seems to be a place for real, coffee connoisseurs. They have food but the menus are a bit confusing because it's only drinks and promotions on the monitors and a typed out menu is clipped to a board by the register. Menu seems very vague and simple, I was also looking for a bite to eat. Ordered my mom the poached egg and avocado on toast. I ordered the salmon and cream cheese on toast. That's literally how it's worded on the menu however what you actually get is a big sprinkle of hot red chili pepper flakes all over the poached egg and avocado... not cool. Not everyone loves spice and that's overkill for someone who likes ZERO spice. I had to scrape it all off so my mother could eat it. My toast was topped off with pickled onions (that's blasphemy on nova salmon) with huge capers. To top it off, both pieces of bread were not toasted. Just hard crusts and doughy bread. Maybe specify what you put on your food, not everyone likes those extra things that were not disclosed on the menu. The price of the avocado toasts were also very high, ($15-$17). Not worth it in my opinion. I could get a huge hero down the block at a deli for that price.
YELP has done it again!! I drove to Bean & Bean after seeing that they offered avocado toast, I decided to give them a try. The lay out is similar to a Internet coffee house that accommodates a lot of people with much to offer. I had the Avocado Toast with Salmon. OMGoodness. It was so tasteful. I actually love the combination and it's healthier than having sausage. Just when you find one place that has a good Avocado Toast, there is always another place that does it better. I believe they have about four different avocado toast and a almond butter toast. They offer a combo deal with coffee. It doesn't mesh well with my body so I ordered a hot chai tea and I added liquid cane syrup. The tea was very calming. I also ordered a almond delight smoothie. I didn't start it yet because I was already stuffed from the toast and tea. The ambiance is that of a upscale cafe and can not be compared to . I dare not mention the two in the same sentence. It's disrespectful toward Bean & Bean. The staff does exhibit high customer service skills and works coherently on a consistent basis. I loved my interaction with the person that took my order. He supplied enough information so that I would not hesitate when ordering. I did park on the street because I wasn't familiar with the area but they do have a parking lot for the convenience of their customers, if I paid attention when I drove up I would have parked in their lot, took my laptop in to use while dining in. Since Bean & Bean has all that you need for dining and parking, there is no reason to stay away. I'll be back!!
Decent sized corner location with a small lot in the back (entrances at both the front and back). There is a 2 hour limit, but that was more than enough for me. There is metered and residential parking as well. There is free Wi-Fi for anyone looking to work on their laptops (quite a few people were while I was there) The service is pleasant and quick. The coffee counter is fully stocked with a variety of add-ins (milk and sugar) and utensils. There are quite a few tables, but it does get crowded. The Vegan Carrot Cake Muffin is moist with lots of filling and nicely topped with pumpkin seeds to add a bit of crunch. A bit on the sweet side for me, but seems like the perfect amount of sweetness for an average person. It definitely didn't stop me from devouring it! The Iced Korean Earl Grey Latte (Medium) with Soy Milk and Unsweetened has a lovely Earl Grey flavor. It was not too milky, and not overly filled with ice like other cafes! Everything hit the spot for me. Would come again for a quick bite
A sloth-themed cafe owned by a mother-daughter duo. They have a roastery room which convinces me the beans they use are super fresh. The interior is spacious with ample seatings and two clean restrooms. Easy street parking. Excellent study/wfh spot. ＊Lavender Latte OMGGGG I didn't expect it would come with a cute sloth latte art on top. The lavender fragrance was strong but not overpowering. Very lightly sweetened. Shout out to their knowledgeable and friendly barista. ＊Cheddar Chive Scone ＊Blueberry White Choco Scone Their baked goods were unexpectedly so good. The scones were huge, dense and moist, with a slightly crispy crust. The savory one was perfect for breakfast. The blueberry scone was coated with crystalized sugar. Good amount of dried blueberries were studded inside. I couldn't really taste white chocolate, but that was great because I don't like it. Their barista recommended me to get Downtown Blend for making lattes, as they use this blend for all their espresso-based drinks. It is the most affordable option among all ($19/250g). They also sell small coffee sample bag at only $9 for 45g -- the best way to find your next fav beans. Also 10/10 customer service -- they followed up questions on my coffee beans order.
"Audyssey SoMa" Someone once asked me what makes a good cup of coffee, and I blurted that out from the back of my mind. No, it's not some exotic coffee blend harvested from beans that went through the GI tract of a Malaysian civet cat, nor is it some rare coffee brewing equipment costing thousands referenced by the likes of James Hoffman. The Audyssey SoMa is an old and discontinued iPod dock/speaker dating from 2011 that I was entrusted with by my ex-CEO Paolo as a parting gift in 2015. He was personally responsible for its design back when he was an acoustics engineer, and even back then I never used it with an old Apple device with the 30 pin connector as my 3rd Gen iPod died years ago and I was a Blackberry 10 loyalist back then. But somehow whenever I got a new piece of audio equipment, I'l pair to it using bluetooth and it'll make me smile when the sounds fill up the room ...be it my Blackberry Z10, a 2011 MacMini (used as an iTunes jukebox) or my AudioTechnica AT-LP120 turntable for listening to vinyl (Brubeck, Nujabes and Prince sounded that much better with it). When the original dock died I just went on the Goodwill Industries website and bought a used replacement for cheap (Audyssey stopped making docks years ago). My wife thought I was nuts but when I put on Miles Davis and poured her a freshly brewed cup she swore that the music from the dock made the coffee taste better - we had sound bars and bluetooth speakers but we tend to gravitate towards the SoMa time and again. The coffee that I made was some light roast Kenyan AA Karatu from Trader Joes, hand ground using a Timemore C2 burr grinder with hot water poured with my Vario crookneck onto the grounds via a V60 dripper/carafe, but she thought it tasted bright fruity and vibrant, so who am I to judge. The human palate is a fickle thing, and nostalgia can influence your objective opinion of even a single cup of coffee. For example, one of the best cups of coffee that I ever had came out of a Mirubiki vending machine at platform 17 of Tokyo station, and it was a cup of Nozomi blend - there was a camera inside the machine that showed the grinding/shotmaking/pouring process live, which took around 2 minutes. it's meant to show you that it's indeed real coffee and not some Keurig-like nonsense, and it's worth the yennie outlay. I am not sure if it was me getting up early for a weekend in Osaka as my train will be there in 15 minutes, maybe it was the jetlag induced headache that day, or it was the coffee itself - the entire experience just felt right and the coffee tasted that much better. I did remember coming back to the coffee later as the train pulled into Kyoto and having a much less positive opinion of it, but it could be the comparative disappointment of the ekiben lunchboxes that we had, or the temperature drop within the coffee in the past 2 hours on the train zooming through central Japan. Damn, did we hit 160+ mph on the train? What does it have to do with Bean&Bean? Well, me and the missus came across it doing a 10 mile walk from Great Neck to Queensborough Hill, and we stopped by on a toilet-and-hydration break - for me, it's just a cup of cold brew, black, nothing else, plus a Japanese Kuro-thunder chocolate bar. But somehow, it felt "right" - the coldbrew isn't as good as the ones I made myself (on a 2L Takeya mizudashi maker with Reilly French market chicory mixed with Cafe Bustelo espresso grind - strong, dark, cheap, not great hot but delicious when cold brewed) , but it was definitely serviceable, the restroom was clean, and the coffee area is lively with your usual cafe barnacles and their Macbooks. I whipped my MBP14 out, checked messages from work and took a breather - judging by the interior they probably roast and blend raw beans onsite and sell them retail and wholesale. My wife was wondering what the glass bridge in the parking lot was for until I pointed out that the space above hosted a gym and that's the separate elevator based access for the upstairs tenants. "Wow, so this is what happened to the old Scobee diner, huh". The place reminded me of "The Elm" in Elmhurst, except their coldbrew isn't sour. Cafes in Koreatown tend to use Bean&bean coffee, and they are okay. For a dark roast I stick to Brooklyn Coffee Roaster's Shay Shay Osaka or Intelligentsia Black Cat Analog as that's what Paolo used to stock for the Gaggia coffee bean-to-espresso maker at the old gig....oh. I guess a little bit of Pavlovian response applies here. So yeah, decent enough coffee, got the usual paraphernalia to give it some creds, reasonably comfy interior, sleek and okay. I'll come back again to try other things...
- Chill atmosphere with ample tables for guests. - Spacious and clean. - Great coffee - I ordered an Iced Americano then got a bag of Indonesia Sumatra coffee beans. If you purchase coffee beans, it comes with a free drip coffee, cold brew or tea and espresso drinks are a $1 extra. - Fast service and cashier/barista was friendly. Next time I'll go back for a cup of the Panama Janson Gesha which goes for $110 for 11oz (mind blown)!
I've only had the coffee. Good latte. It was strong and made well! Service was attentive, kind, and prompt. Both baristas were helpful and connecting. Ambiance: I loved that the space is relatively big and airy. There are lots of tables and wifi works well. I showed up late morning and there were multiple open tables. Good place to get some work done or read. Big plus: there are some parking spots in the back. Cool bit: one section of the cafe has their coffee bean production machine.
Wow, another cafe winner in the suburbs! I got a cortado and my friend got a honey latte. We also shared a pumpkin pound cake. The drinks were absolutely delicious and so well made. Loved that the cake wasn't super sweet or heavy on the flavor. It didn't taste like it had fake pumpkin in it or anything. Also, shout-out to the barista, whose name I could not get, but it started with a K. He helped me decide what to get and he knew what he was talking about (like he got into coffee details and proportions!) and he was really friendly. The place itself has so much space and a lot of seating! It's quiet so you can work, and the WiFi works well. There's a good amount of parking in the back, too.
This place has the four C's: Coffee, clean, cozy & convenient! I was there for several hours so I had both their delicious hot & cold latte! I also ordered their turkey & cheese on multi grain bread. It was perfectly toasty and scrumptious! The staff is really nice! Only downside is the 2-hr parking. I had to keep alternating between parking lot and muni meter. The landlord definitely enforces the parking restriction, since I saw a car with a big fat yellow boot on it! Yikes that's one expensive coffee break! read more
Finally got to check out the new place. Bitter sweet. Miss the old scene, that was cozy. New place is spacious which I like and it s a great study spot or to do some work. Modernish vibe and lots of light and bright inside and they have a variety of breakfast and lunch menu. Haven't tried the food but ordered iced coffee. It's good. I have been here multiple times and I have never been disappointed. The big open space, the tables, and the ambiance make it a great environment to study in. Their lattes and food are not too overpriced either; I would say they have typical coffee shop prices. It does get busy on weekends in the afternoon, but it does not get so loud that it makes it hard to enjoy whatever you're having. read more

Great cafe for studying or even for a coffee chat. There aren't too many items on the menu but they do offer items to satisfy the sweet tooth, savory sandwiches and most importantly, coffee! The coffee is made fresh and hot by the kind baristas. The cafe itself is very big, spacious, and clean. There's seating alongside the windows that's primarily directed for those who come to get work done and there's also other seating more towards the middle that's a no laptop zone which basically tends to be people who come to socialize for a bit. The music is a bit loud and they do get quite a lot of customers so it may occasionally get loud but it isn't bad. If you're coming to do work, I recommend coming earlier so that you can get a good seat! read more

I work for a manufacturing company based in long-island, usually work from home but i like to change atmosphere. So i come here to stay connected with my clients. Am here up to three times a day. Great staff with smiles and once they know you, your coffee is working by the time you pay.. place is clean and well kept. Manager i see daily, keeps the place on point.. Consumers need to understand that for a cup of coffee you sit for hours and not be bothered.. read more

The ambiance is so open and light inviting. The huge floor to ceiling windows allow for so much natural lighting to enter the space. I got the japanese matcha latte and it was so good, I loved that I got to actually taste the flavor of the matcha. Their chicken club sandwich comes with an amazing balsamic glaze that makes it taste so good. Their banana nutella bread is also a must try. This is a great place to work, study, and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. The workers are extremely friendly and helpful! read more

I like this place and I like this place a lot! - Cool Clientel who are extremely civilized. Lots of very serious Medical Students studying for their USMLE. Lots of "Cool People" that are trying to act "Too Cool" - but they are harmless and amusing. Coffee is really good. Really excellent set up with very kind and cool staff. WiFi is exceptional - works amazing! Spacious and comfortable - You may get so comfortable; that you forget to get yourself up to walk around - that's ain't good. Great location! - Practically in Long Island - but in the City of New York. I dig this place a lot. Kudos to the owners and to the folks that designed this place. Well done! read more

Love love their coffee! Move over Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, this place has some really seriously great and simple organic coffee. It doesn't need sugar, whipped cream, fairy dust or whatever crazy flavors are in those pump bottles at other coffee shops. Pumpkin spice, salted caramel mocha? I always wonder exactly what is in those few pumps a Starbucks barista so lovingly shoots into the cup....I'm a little scared to find out so I've decided to just stop drinking them. Thank goodness I now have Bean & Bean and it's so conveniently located! I haven't actually been inside Bean & Bean yet since my husband so selflessly makes the coffee runs while I watch our two monsters, ahem, sons. I do plan to make a jail break soon though and Bean & Bean will likely be the first place I go! read more

Really loved this open space coffee/wine/beer cafe concept right here in little neck! Emphasis is still on the brewing of the coffee though of course :P. They really take the time and pride to carefully roast and brew their coffee. My friend's favorite is the Jamaican Blue Mountain drip. I had their honey lattee with a chocolate croissant. The cafe itself is huge with lots of open space and plenty of long tables and couches for people to work/study or simply catch up with a friend. There were so many outlets all around. Their Wifi could get a little slow if there's a lot of people using, but overall it was fine. Parking is super easy in their back parking lot with a decent amount of spots. When we went, the lot wasn't full but even if it were, there's always neighborhood parking right around the corner. read more

I love the modern-industrial design of bean & bean. the glass windows allow for plenty of natural lighting. This is a great cafe for friends to catch up or to bring your laptop and do some work. There is free wifi but there will be a few glitches here and there. There are plenty of outlets but there are some tables that are labeled as laptop free zones. Coffee is pretty much Starbucks pricing but all their beans are roasted and ground in house. You'll see a section of the floor that is blocked off for the roaster. They also offer pastries, baked goods, salads, and sandwiches. When you check in on Yelp, you get a free drink (any size) with a purchase of a salad or sandwich. They also have happy hour all day. $5 for draft and bottled beers. Other drinks include whites, reds, and sparkling wine. P.S. Parking out back limited to 3 hrs. Staff will come around to remind customers that the parking lot has a 3 hr limit. But there is plenty of residential parking anyways so no big deal. read more

Hip coffee roasters, about 10 mins away from LIJ hospital. I ordered a double espresso shot, tasted strong. Avocado toast was delicious with oil and red pepper flakes on top. Staff was kind and friendly. Lots of space to bring your laptop to sit and relax for a while. Parking in the back, very convenient. I recently started going to a work out place a few blocks away and needed to kill some time before heading to work. It's a large space with couches and tables all around, plenty of space. It wasn't too busy so my order was quick. I did a medium Iced caramel coffee with a marble loaf. It was $7.92 which is a little pricey to me since the medium was more like a small. The newest cafe addition to the Little Neck area! I almost don't want to write this review for fear that too many people will find out about this place! OUTLETS (insert a million heart emojis!). Cafes with outlets really get me nowadays - they are so rare in San Francisco and the fact that this enormous cafe with plentiful seating also has numerous outlets is just mind blowing and gets me seriously hyped! I love cafe one of a kind a little ways down the road, but Bean & Bean oh my. The open work space and natural lighting is exactly what I've been looking for! Comfy couches, high tables/chairs, long picnic style tables and even standing areas - this space just makes me happy. As for coffee, ice soy latte is the only thing that I've been able to try, but why go forth when you've hit jackpot. I like the quality of the coffee here and the options on the side next to the register. The space is so clean and you can add your own creamer, milk, simple syrup - everything is neatly organized! I think it's great for work, for catching up etc etc. It's a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and I'm excited to visit again and again! :) read more

FINALLY a cafe in Little Neck. New favorite spot to study and hangout. This Bean and Bean location has a nice parking spot in the back, really spacious inside, there are windows all around the cafe that allows for natural light to light up the modern and industrial interior space. There are outlets around the cafe for you to charge your laptop or phones which is really convenient. Really friendly and experienced Baristas that helped me choose what drink would best fit my taste and recommended a drink that would give me a good caffeine boost (thank you Megan). I loved the Honey Latte. Not too sweet, not too bitter. They also let me see the labels for the Almond milk because I had allergies to some Almond milk brands. Overall: Great space, great drinks, and great staff. read more

Reason I give three stars out of total five is because the price is on the high side of coffee business. A new Bean & Bean place just opened in Little Neck! Until 5/5 (I believe) from 8am-4pm, it's giving out free cold brew (small size) drinks as part of its grand opening. This new coffee shop close to the Little Neck train station is super spacious and great for large groups. There are several long tables here and even like a lounge area with couches in the middle- it's a great place to just chill with friends or to study and do work. Also, there is a small parking space behind the place, which is amazing since it's usually difficult to find parking spaces on Northern Boulevard. As for drinks, I tried the honey latte and of course, the free cold brew & I absolutely loved both! I especially liked the honey latte- not too sweet and just the right blend with the milk and the coffee. The cold brew is really right on par with that of other great coffee places in NY. I want to come back and try the pastries here! read more
I pretty much say this about every new cafe I go to, but this is my new favorite. It's a really big space with plenty of seating, and most importantly, plenty of outlets! It's pretty convenient to get there by bus and they also have a lot in the back for parking. They have 2 really big tables with benches and seats that have a lot of outlets against the wall. The table is super big so you and the person across don't feel claustrophobic. They also have smaller round tables and high top tables. They also have those tables that you stand at, which I guess is good if you tend to fall asleep while working. I used the yelp check in and got a free large mint cold brew. It was pretty good! Strong enough coffee to keep me up with a nice hint of mint, plus it was free! After a while I got hungry and got a blueberry crumb muffin. The guy offered to heat it up for me which was nice since I usually have to ask them to do that. The muffin was actually really good but you can rarely go wrong with a blueberry muffin. They also had little free samples out! There seems to be a lot of options and its really a great place for working since its bright and pretty quiet, but that could be because it's still relatively new. read more

My first time to drop by here while waiting for my boss. I normally go to one in Bayside which I don't have a problem with. I like the place. But This place is humongous! There's just so much space to seat and have coffee with friends or do your work too. Tables are very accommodating and they have variety of sitting. From high chairs to some kind of dining chairs and even roomy couches you feel like you're at home enjoying your latte or enjoying meal with friends on what seems to be a dining table. One more good thing about this place is that they have a lap top free area which I found some middle aged women enjoying themselves. You will see people from all ages and background. The lighting is just right which highlights the hue of their interior. Light and chic but elegant. The high bolted ceilings just add to the chic appearance of the place. Their staff which I wish is more than two at that time I went, we're still very attentive. The barista especially he's all over the place. The place was jumping but he was able to keep up with the orders. And oh!! This place offer wines and beers. So if you're looking for that booze anytime of the day but your friends wanted coffee then you guys are at the perfect place . Didn't get alcoholic beverages so I can't say much about it. 3.5 stars Came here to catch up with a couple of friends who I haven't seen in a while. This cafe gave off very good vibes. I think one of the main reasons why is because the windows are very large so you get a lot of natural lighting inside. There are a couple of communal tables around the perimeter of the cafe near the windows and some small group tables and couch seating near the center. So no matter if you're going by yourself or with a group of friends, you'll definitely be able to find a table that comfortably seats your party. Like other reviews have already stated, the clientele here all seem like well-mannered and civilized people who are here to get work done or just to grab a snack/coffee and socialize. I decided to try their iced honey latte and I think the barista made it wrong because I couldn't taste any honey? Regardless, it was a little too watered down for my liking and they put a little too much ice for a drink that costs $4+. I also got their almond croissant and that was really good. Very flaky, had chocolate inside, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. It's a shame this place didn't open until after I graduated college. Went here with my fiancé for a weekend breakfast. It's so nice inside. Huge with ample seating! Clean decorating and modern looking finishes. I enjoyed cold brew coffee which was really smooth and delicious. They have a nice bar of milk and sugars to fix your coffee with- and liquid sugar for iced coffee which is clutch! My fiancé got an iced mocha, but wasn't a fan of it. We got a raspberry pastry, chocolate chip muffin, and marble loaf and all were good! We had the option to get it warmed but chose not to. Prices were a little high, but not outrageous. All of the above cost $20. Overall, a nice spot to relax and grab a good coffee and treat! read more

I don't know how this place is making money when you have all the people sitting there for hours on their laptops. If I were the owner I would def do something about maximizing your revenues here. Also the menu is minuscule as in the font, signage. What's up with that? Lovely space but not sure if it will last long. Also wondering where that glass bridge on top of bldg goes to. This little neighborhood is finally catching up to the times! I'm just gonna start off by saying that I'm really glad that there's finally a modern cafe in littleneck. This spot has a really clean and modern feel to it, furniture is monochromatic, with wooden tables. Thumbs up for that! As for the coffee, I am in LOVE with the honey latte! Its not overly sweet, you can still taste the espresso and I can definitely tell it was made by an experienced barista. AND GURL! let me TELL YOU about their blueberry muffin!! Its super soft, but not crumbly, and if I could I would eat it everyday. It has a bit of a corn bread-y flavor, not your typical "muffin", I would definitely try it out. Everyone come here and get a blueberry muffin, maybe catch up with some old friends, bring your date here after dinner, study for finals, idk just try their muffin and latte! read more
