This place seems to be well loved by the locals. When I went in, I noticed the owner seemed to know all the costumers and was asking them how their day was going. When I sat down, I noticed many people used this coffee shop as a place to catch up with family and friends, have business meetings, or just to catch up on some readings. I liked the overall atmosphere this place had. My only complaint was that the fireplace didn't seem to be working and the place was FREEZING! Here's what I ordered: 1. Mint Mocha: Very rich flavour and the mint added the extra touch to make the drink special. 2. BBQ chicken panini: I didn't enjoy this dish that much because I thought the panini bread was very hard and crunchy. I was worried it would cut my throat if I didn't chew it enough. This place is so welcoming, kind of like being on the cast of Cheers. I may only go here once every six months as we pass through town, but the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel like they're regulars. I was excited to see some creative treats on the menu including a Rolo Latte and Banana Mocha that myself and a guest ordered. The banana mocha was lightly flavoured in a way that avoided an artificial taste. The Rolo latte included a good balance of caramel and chocolate. Bean to Cup is adjacent to the lobby of the Lord Aberdeen hotel, within the village of Silver Star Resort. Where Bugaboos (a block away) features large display cases packed with baked goods, Bean to Cup seems to be more about the coffee than pastries. The espresso drink menu is more extensive, whereas the small selection of baked goods is sitting on a metal rack behind the counter. According to their website, sandwiches, wraps, soups, and salads are also offered. Location is OK (it's the first coffee spot you when entering Silver Star village), but I found the service to be slow, the clientele a bit snooty, and the temperature WAY too hot for us bundled-up skiers (the staff was in shorts - how nice for them). Despite the overheated interior, my banana mocha was far too cool (though very tasty). I would've taken it back for re-heating, but was in a hurry to pick up my kids from ski school. Free wi-fi was a plus for us hotspot-seeking Americans with iPhones. It just saves them from a negative review. read more

Popped in for breakfast here, ended up getting a rolo latte, cinnamon bun and the breakfast panini (my bf ordered a raspberry muffin that I tried and it was super tasty). I was kind of scared to order the rolo latte because I thought it might be too sweet, but it was different from anything I've seen anywhere else so I thought I'd give it a try. SO glad that I did, it was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! Not too sweet at all, in fact perfect. Whatever espresso they used tasted amazing! From the first time we walked through the doors we were greeted by a sincere and friendly owner and staff that makes your experience feel like you have been going there for years. The coffee and food are great! Fresh cinnamon buns and other pastries and a decent breakfast selection. On Wednesday's there is a great butter chicken curry. Almost everything is made in house.
