I've seen reviews for this place, but never knew where it really was. My husband and I went on a road trip and stumbled across this cute little coffee/food shop. Many places to sit and eat too. We ordered coffee and their signature beignets just like New Orleans. We got the originals. They were hot and fresh and delicious. Our drinks were made and delicious as well. We had to wait on the beignets, but our waitress told us they'll be hot and fresh and they were. It was worth it. Many other things I'd like to try, but it was a quick stop. Next time I'd like to sit down and eat inside. Very quaint, very cute. read more

Stopped on a Tuesday morning, service was great! Food was great. We ordered a 4 ct of the Beignets. This is called "My Girlfriend's Not Hungry" . Lol. Tried the traditional, which was my favorite, we also had a Lemon, and Cinnamon Sugar. They were all great. Wife said she enjoyed the Lemon. There is another flavor called Holy Hot, but we didn't try it. Also, added a half order of the biscuits and gravy, which was very good. We also each got coffee. I got an iced coffee and my wife ordered hot. Coffee was great as well. This is a small coffee shop, but has great service and food. Definitely worth a try. A wonderful gem in Earlham. The coffee has always been on point and the breakfast burrito was a generous portion and the perfect potato/crunch to meat ratio. Service with a smile (though it can be busy in the mornings) and the restaurant has a nice industrial farmhouse ambiance. A nice getaway from the typical breakfast places in Des Moines. read more

My daughter and I regularly take trips to review coffee shops and bakeries. We ordered the Traditional, Lemon and Cinnamon Sugar beignets. They came out hot and fresh. The lemon is to die for. Very light and flavorful. Iced coffees were also great. This place is worth a stop for sure. The only drawback was a very grouchy older female staff making coffee. Not sure how you can be so annoyed at customers filling the restaurant. read more

We were excited to see a cafe like this in Earlham. The area has evolved so much since I grew up in the area and it's great to see their commercial businesses picking up. We had lunch and split an order of beignets. Lunch was okay (a French dip without the au jus, soup, and salads) but nothing special. The beignets were disappointing as we love NOLA and I've made my share of beignets. I'm not sure if it was the batch or the recipe, but these were much closer to sopapillas- good but NOT beignets. They also seemed to struggle with staffing. Lots of grumpy folks and unbussed tables. Hopefully they'll get things sorted! read more

Nice gem of a place. Hidden in Earlham. I went here specifically for beignets. I had been craving some and determined to find traditional ones I was directed here by a FB group. The place is very welcoming and the lady that greeted us was very nice. We ordered a dozen beignets. 6 traditional with the powdered sugar and 6 with cinnamon sugar. We also got a hot chocolate, which was delicious. The beignets were amazing! They were fresh and warm and crispy and soft and oh so good! They have an ice cream bar which I cannot wait to try. Well, we came here on Monday, don't go then, they are closed! :) Came back today. What a nice surprise, small town and a "hip" coffee shop. Liked the decor and the folks were very nice and polite. We came for breakfast and of course, coffee. Woman at the counter was helpful and pleasant as we made our order. We went for the breakfast plate. Eggs, bacon and sausage with a pancake. Everything seemed very fresh and tasty. Coffee was good and fresh as well. If you are on the interstate and looking for a unique eating experience verses McDonalds or a chain, I highly recommend giving this place a try. There are plenty of seating options from large tables for groups to small tables if you want to sit and work. There is guest wifi available. You order at the counter - large menu boards are on the wall so that it is easy to review. All drinks are customizable with type of milk, flavors, etc. My caramel latte was fantastic. There is a nice variety of breakfast and lunch food available to choose from, and all is very affordable. The fun treat is the beignets - mine were made fresh to order when I arrived. The ice cream bar is around the corner in the connecting building - a nice counter you can eat at and several more tables available as well. read more

This is a great place to eat in Earlham! The service is so friendly, and fast. I ordered the cinnamon and sugar beignet, it came quickly and was so good! The prices were good and affordable, for example, a kids meal is $6, and you can get ice cream, a drink, and food. The coffee was very good too, it was made really quickly. We drove from Clive, and it was so worth it! The cinnamon sugar beignets are amazing, but the lemon was...better than amazing! Supremely smooth Americano and latte. We arrived too late for breakfast, but the menu was impressive. We will go regularly. It's like a little weekend vacation away from the house. I was very excited to try this place. I had seen it all over Facebook so I decided to make the 45 minute drive this weekend. However, I left very disappointed that I made the 45 minute drive. I was with my daughter and a friend and her daughter. I ordered two coffees and food and my friend ordered two coffees and food. My coffees were given to a whole other table. I went up to the counter to inquire about my coffees and got attitude from the barista about how she sent my coffees out and how they should be at my table, but they weren't. She said she would remake them with attitude. My food and my daughters were almost eaten by the time we got our coffee. My friend had issues receiving her order as well and was met with the same attitude when she went up to the counter to inquire about it. A couple at the table behind us did not receive their coffee and had their meal almost gone by the time they got it. They were comped with a coupon of some sort for their next visit. We received nothing, but had I had gotten something I would not have gone back so not that upset about it. Not sure if they were short staff or the barista was just overwhelmed. However, multiple mistakes were made on just our visit and I definitely will not be going back. Don't waste the gas. I did give this a two star only because of the beignets. read more

My family stopped in to support a small local business we had only just heard about. It was clean and cute inside. The people were super friendly as well. We had 2 mochas, hot chocolate, French toast, egg sandwiches, and beignets, of course! I love having a choice of chocolate in a mocha, so I chose the dark. The drinks were served in large coffee cups and were frothed perfectly. The food was made to order and was tasty. We liked it so much that on the way out, I tried their chai, and we got a gift card for friends. The chai was also wonderful, and perfectly spiced. All in all, this is a great spot just a few miles off of the interstate and worth the drive. read more
