I make the trip between Charleston and Myrtle fairly often and Georgetown usually is the stopping point for gas, snacks, and bathroom breaks. I've wanted to stop at Beanz because I drive by all the time but it's often closed because of the early hours (which I totally understand as it's a coffee shop). Well I finally caught them open on a Friday before 4pm because I was able to leave town early. I ended up chatting with the owner and he's a super nice guy. He's been running the place for almost 7 years and the hours are based on him running the place on his own. If you catch them closed one day, he may have just needed a day off because they are open 7 days a week. I wanted something cold and asked about the iced cafe which he told me had a shot of espresso and that the ice cubes were made of kona coffee so there was no watering down the drink. I was sold. While he put it together I snagged some chocolate chip cookies which were the perfect car snack and some espresso candies that I remember from back in the day. Plus my coffee was great too. I hope that I can connect with them whenever I'm driving that route and will definitely be more inclined to stop if I see them open. read more

Stumbled upon this place on our way to Charleston from Myrtle beach and loved it. The owner(?) or staff member that was working there was super friendly, definitely was consuming his own product though. He was super energetic and friendly which was nice. This is a local shop that is run by a really friendly guy. No it's not Starbucks, but that's what we like about it. You don't have people sitting there for hours on their laptops because it's for coffee to go - take out! They have a wide variety of drink options, but most are simple. Hot coffee, iced coffee.....they also now offer a frozen option, which is a newer item. It's $4.44 for a large frozen blend with any flavor you want. Service is quick & friendly & the coffee tastes pretty good. We will continue to stop here on our way through the area. read more

I never have good luck with many coffee shops. But today this was the only place to get an iced latte. Walked in and was greeted warmly by the owner. Talked to him about my coffee problem at other places. He said he had the BEST ice. I thought that was funny. But do you have the BEST coffee? Well.....YES! Beans was our stop on the way to pawley beach in early May. I got a mocha, which was not frothed ( I feel like that's the point of a latte?!) hence my reduced rating. The baked goods we passed on, they looked "purchased" over "homemade " .The staff weren't wearing masks (I suppose the ordinance applied down the road but not to Georgetown proper). The parking lot wasn't full, but very small, and the staff were talking about going to bang on the window of someone who had parked but not come in yet, which was weird. I had no inclination to go back, so we chose to stop at a chain. I would definitely prefer to support local in the future. read more

The only reason to give it one star is because we had to. My girlfriend and I should have known by the styrofoam cups and lack of seating that this place was going to be disappointing. We were expecting a cute local shop and instead were met with a BBQ-restaurant style menu. My girlfriend ordered an iced mocha and it was just iced coffee with milk in it and a little chocolate syrup. Hardly a latte. I ordered an iced coffee that tasted like it was made with gas station grade Maxwell house coffee that had been sitting out for three weeks. We ended up pouring the coffee out on the side of the road and went to the Dunkin Donuts in Pawleys island. Yikes. Of course Dunkin did not disappoint and they made a latte CORRECTLY. The building has so much potential for cute seating and actual decent pastries, and could be something really great. It's sad to see a lack of effort in the shop. Also no public restrooms for a coffee shop? And not a single table outside to sit at? Terrible atmosphere. For the only 'coffee' shop in Georgetown we expected more. read more

Beanz is a hidden gem in Georgetown, we make sure to stop by for some rocket fuel on the way from Charleston to Pawley's or Myrtle Beach for golf. Ordered the 100% Kona Coffee with a "Surprise" flavor shot. Couldn't quite place the flavor, noted some hints of salt, coconut, with a slight sweetness reminiscent of pineapple? My buddy Kyle really enjoyed it, I may stick with vanilla next time. Grabbed a blueberry muffin that was clearly homemade, although it was a bit dry and the crumbs went everywhere in the car. My closet is slowly filling up with Beanz merchandise, where do you come up with the amazing slogans? As a fellow small business owner, I appreciate the effort the owner puts into his product. idk what kind of crack these bad reviews are on because this is some of the best iced coffee i've ever had. i got a marshmallow iced coffee with cream, and it was perfect. not too sweet but just enough flavor to add something to it. my boyfriend got just an iced coffee with some cream, and he's usually really picky about his coffee and said it was one of the best regular coffees he's ever had. i would rather swallow a jean jacket than go to dunkin' over this place. this is REAL coffee with good beans and carefully made (the coffee ice cubes are a lovely touch). the service is quick and so homey. we aren't from here -- we're from atlanta -- and this was still some of the most joyful coffee shop experiences we've had. love how quick and kind the staff is! put a smile on our faces and let us get back to our puppies in the car super fast! definitely visiting again before we leave georgetown and returning every time we visit here in the future! read more

I haven't been in about a year due to moving but when he first started, I asked him about making the decaf into an iced coffee. The owner switched from being just the new guy on the street to my new best friend. He told me not today- as he was now going to put it on the list and he wanted it done right. I can't say no to that! He is so kind and thoughtful about the process and it is a guarantee that he will never serve you bad coffee. Ever. I got a decaf hot that day and the next time I went, decaf was sure as day on the menu to be iced. Decaf cubes and all. He made my week, year, and life. A good man and a good owner who knows his product and knows his customers. Whenever I can not go to Starbucks, sign me up. This proprietor takes pride in his Bean(z). In the short time I was in the area I went twice, it was that tasty. Brewed & Poured with pride and enthusiasm, I first had a Hot Café (like a latte but without the froth) and an Americano--both aromatic and delicious. I also appreciated his attention to already established regulars--recognizing them and knowing their orders--confirming that's what they'd like and expeditiously serving them up. Some rather impersonal and leaden youth as cashiers, but the star of the show supersedes any sullenness. I liked the coffee so much, I even bought a ball cap! (Only $7).
