This place is fab! Nice location in Litchfield. The store itself is beautiful with the beams and open feel. It's not the kind of place you stop to have a meal, but to pick up high quality supplies to create your meal at home. They carry wonderful varieties of meats, sauces, cheeses, drinks, wines, and sweets. I stopped for a sweet tooth with my friend. As it was late in the afternoon they only had a few cookies, brownies, and pie slices left but lots of cakes! They will cut you any slide of cake for $3.70. I love this bakery! I have been a regular since I moved here 4 years ago. I have noticed some major price increases on some of there items! Key lime pie use to be $20.50 and is now $25.00. The famous cheese biscuits use to be around $8.25 and are now $10.50. The cookies have also become smaller. At least they have kept the wine prices the same. I will continue to shop there, but I will not pay $10.50 for the cheese biscuits. My advice would be to be careful to not become too expensive; it will eventually put people off. read more

I arrived to the bakery at 8:51 am on a Saturday. I sat in my car for 6 minutes, and then saw the blinds raised up. I looked at my phone it was 8:57am. I got out of my car, tried the door, it was locked. I looked thru the window and two employees were right by the register, talking. I stood for a moment, and then knocked on the window. They did not even stop talking to one and another and when i continued to knock, they dispersed out of site. I turn around, waited, at this point it is 9am, no door open but I see a another person (not the previous two) I knocked again. She did not acknowledge me either, but looked at her watch and opened the door. I did tell her i felt it strange not to even acknowledge someone at the window and her response was "we just opened". Okay, it wasn't exactly 9 am, but certainly 2 minutes early and you raising the blinds, with a customer willing to pay $30 for a cake could perhaps warrant acknowledgement. This is my first and last time as a customer. Poor service seems is a consistent review regarding staff. Poor customer service can certainly ruin an experience, even if it is the best cake I have even eaten. read more

Love this bakery in Litchfield beach, the cookies are wonderful , love their oatmeal raisin , chocolate chip , macaroons and my favorite is the Rugelach cookies and apple turnovers. The cakes look Devine plus they do have fresh made sandwiches in the fridge. Their French bread is great and they have local jams and jellies and wine and kitchen items . It is located behind the shopping plaza on 17 south and Willbrook Blvd. in a section called Mingo .The only bad thing about it. It's very , expensive, I usually get a box of 6 assorted cookies but never really could afford the cakes . They are great to bring to a special occasion that you want to impress people. The original Kudzu bakery was in Georgetown and there was one in Myrtle Beach both have closed so I think this is the only one left ,but try it on a payday when you have a lot of cash left to try all their goodies! read more

I stumbled across this place a few years ago, it is located at Mingo- a set of shops in the Litchfield Beach area. It is a second location of Kudzu Bakery out of Georgetown. The Oatmeal Raisin cookies alone are worth stopping here. That is not the only reason to stop though - they bake bread fresh here everyday, and they rotate what they bake. Sad that they advertise as a deli when they are really a bakery. I would give them many stars as a bakery but I went there for their deli. All they had was a dozen Dry boring sandwiches‼asked for a deli menu and they have no such thing.I just kept my hopes high that because of the high price, I would get 4 sandwiches that were wonderful for my friends. Went to the cashier with the sandwiches, and was told to pick out the soda, chips, and cookies. Being on a diet, I did not want any of those things. They said that I was paying for them anyway. You cannot beat the baked goods that come out of this bakery, however make sure you don't arrive at 5 minutes to 2 on a Saturday! They close at 2 on Saturdays and they lock up the doors a few minutes early I guess so they can escape promptly at 2? They actually pull the shades down in your face as you are approaching the door to enter. Customer service would have been celebrated here, "come on in, we're about to close, what can we do for you?" After all, you're closed on Sunday's, so I would assume to exhaust your inventory on Saturday at 2 would be helpful? I bought 1/2 key lime pie and 1/2 coconut cake, $24. (They were out of the full cakes, only halves left). The very not so happy employee behind the counter left me uncertain about returning... This is more of an upscale market then bakery. They have nice breads and delicious cinnamon raisin bread (Friday). Bread is a good price. They have great looking frozen meals, entrees, etc. Their pies also look great, but pricey; they are probably worth it, but we didn't try them. read more

Bought a loaf of french bread that was wonderful - well-done crust but not overdone + wonderful flavor for the soft inner bread. Cinnamon rolls were also terrific - bread not too sweet, icing nicely flavored. One note though: we were there around 10 AM, and they had very little bread left. Get there early! read more
