I called one morning a few weeks ago and was able to get my cat Kuechly in (never been there before) that afternoon. The receptionist was very nice and helped me calm down as I was a little frantic about my cat swallowing string and throwing up for days and not eating. The vet was super nice and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. I felt as if she truly cared (I think her name was Dr. Yow) and she helped me understand everything we did for Kuechly. I felt like they were more focused on helping me and Kuechly than just running unnecessary tests for money. We did an ultrasound and gave him anti-nausea meds along with b12 shot. He began feeling better as soon as we were home and is doing great now. I am so happy with my vet visit and will definitely use this vet again in the future. read more

We are new to the area and was looking for a Veterinarian in our area. We were waiting to be seen, and in the hallway area, right outside of the exam rooms, and a dog was whining/crying loudly, which made our dog very apprehensive, to say the least! We waited for a very long time, my husband was post op for his hip, and the bench seating was very uncomfortable. We finally were put in a room, with urine all on the floor. An older, very stern and unfriendly woman with a clip board came into the room. She didn't say hello to our dog, or greet him at all. She walked over to us, and our dog bit her finger. Bear Creek contacted the Sheriff dept. to report it!!! MAYBE, IF YOU WERE SHOWING KINDESS AND A CARING ATTITUDE TO A DOG WHO WAS ALREADY APPREHENSIVE DUE TO THE DOG CRYING WHILE WE WAITED, IT WOULD HAVE ASSURED HIM THAT YOU ARE NICE AND NOT GOING TO HURT HIM!!!! A Sheriff came to our house to take our dog to quarantine for days!!! The bite was small to her finger, and surely being in the business of Veterinary care, this is a frequent thing to happen! The vet was rude, and very uncaring female, and we will never go back or recommend them to ANYONE. read more

Thank you for the excellent treatment that you gave my dog Annie in the 12 years that I had her. She was a rescue mixed lab. I never saw a vet nor a vet tech that I didn't like. We had to put her down yesterday and Dr. Pike was so caring. I will never forget the treatment that she received from all of the vets here. She lived for 13.5 years. very friendly staff! I've taken my dog twice now (once for regular check up and again for x-ray after eating chicken bones) and I was really impressed both times. they are really thorough and informative, yet are able to get you taken care of in a timely manner. I felt like both doctors I saw were up front and didn't try to up sale like other vets we have been to. also really love the location! my dog doesn't do well in crowded areas so this place being out in a rural area with a big parking lot , etc. didn't stress him out as bad. read more

Me and my family are extremely disappointed and displeased with this place. The lack of care and knowledge about my pet and his condition is disgusting. My Great Dane was brought in for a surgery and a neuter one morning and later that evening upon picking him up I noticed a large mass around his heart. Within less than 24 hours after those surgeries my dog had an open wound about a 6 inch hole around and about 6 inches in depth due to such rough and lack of staff and care during my boys surgery. Of course I brought it to their attention and came in the next day and what do you know the doctor that performed the surgeries is gone. No one had any answers for us. Another doctor there doctor jordan took the brunt of it and gave my boy 6 weeks of free laser treatment twice a week for their negligence. Remind you this wasn't the doctor who performed the surgeries.. our doctor was Doctor Gray. All during these treatments we haven't seen or heard from anyone about what happened to my dog and his progress. I just now seen Doctor Gray today who preformed my dogs surgery almost 6 weeks later.. it took 6 weeks to talk to the doctor that is responsible for my dogs current condition. Meeting with her today she proceeded to say that this was my dogs sensitive skin and completely tried to turn it around off of her. Mind you she's been ducking us for over a month and when I sat down to speak with her she acted defensive as people do when they are in the wrong. This place is an absolute nightmare for your animal. I would not trust them with another animal of mind ever. And you shouldn't either! read more

Bear Creek has cut back their hours and if you have an emergency be prepared to wait for a scheduled appointment or go to an emergency care facility. I need a vet that will be there for my pet. Unfortunately we never know when that maybe so I need a facility that has an open door policy. I get it that there is a shortage of vets and finding a decent vet is hard to come by. Not sure where to turn to without driving an hour. read more

They have always done me well. It is a little tough to get in within a day or two, but that's not their fault, everyone knows they are just a great clinic. My cat came in for poor appetite and slightly dehydrated..was offered tests to determine the cause or to treat symptoms first and if that didn't help come back for tests..she had been a patient there before and had recovered after several days of IV therapy..at the time it was suggested she may have a chronic kidney condition but the costs of testing were more than a budget if social security and a pension can afford..so having this history I trusted that they knew how to care for my cat..they administer rather large bag of water through a shot in her side, gave her vitamin shot and a anti-nausea medicine..they also said she might be slightly anemic..the next morning she was breathing rapidly , her heart was racing and her eyes were dilated..I called the vets office but did not receive a call back til later in the afternoon and they said to take her to an emergency vet ..called them and they said as they didn't open for an hour to try back with Bear Creek..it's now 4:15 and they close at 5:00..would not see her and said they didn't have all the required procedure for emergency visit..an hour later I arrived at the end vet and was told my kitty who had been walking around the day before was going to die within hours..that her mind was gone and she was blind..they told me she had been given too much fluid too fast which pushed her anemia over the edge and her oxygen was .05 ..the decision was made to euthanize my beautiful kitty girl as there was no blood available for a transfusion..which may or may not have helped..Bear Creek never even bothered to call the next day..I gathered my self, dried my eyes and called them..after 3 attempts they finally answered and said yes they were aware she had been euthanized...she was treated so carelessly I feel because didn't have the $ for all those tests..which I had to max out my credit cards to get her an ER vet appointment and euthanasia (which ironically was the same price as the tests I couldn't afford)..I had had such good treatment there before I couldn't believe that my kitty was essentially just murdered because I couldn't afford testing..zero stars read more

They definitely know their business. Very compassionate. Will call to check on sick animals, answer questions, and explain things in terms you can understand. Most amazing vets around! Dr. Amy & Dr. Preston (and I have to mention Amy the receptionist) are all so patient and informative, compassionate, respectful and without a doubt, you can feel it, they truly love caring for animals! Their fees are probably a tad on the higher side, but like everything else you get what you pay for. The horror stories I've heard and read reviews on regarding vets in my area (Locust) I'd rather pay more for Dr's I can trust than save a penny. They are a slight distance from me, but I'd drive from across the country to see Dr. Amy - and that says a lot coming from a practice manager in health care. I have made three appointments and three times they have either canceled or have been at least an hour late. Very understaffed and their inability to keep appointments is unprofessional to say the least. Front desk staff was very pleasant and apologetic so they have that going for them at least. Not saying they do bad work when they actually get there, but plan like you are expecting the cable guy...to wait all day. Changed vets as of today's cancellation. read more

It was the greatest experience to have my two boxer's annual checkup conducted at home!! The Doctor and her assistant had everything they needed with them, including a machine to conduct heart worm tests. The dogs were happy campers, and so was I. As a bonus, one of the boxers was scratching her ears. The Doctor cleaned her ears, and gave me an antibiotic which cured the ear infection within a week. This veterinarian is excellent, She has a fabulous bedside manner, and the dogs love her even when she is drawing blood. Veterinarian house calls are an added bonus! read more

Don't take your animal if you don't have an appointment. They charge $32 .00 work in fee. I have never heard of this. I might understand if it was a first time customer or someone that does this often but not a regular customer that's been going there since the day they opened and before that. They knew this was a emergency but the office staff didn't care. My animal died. read more

My husband and I came to Bear Creek with my 14 year old pit bull in respiratory/cardiac distress. He was clearly suffering and needed emergency care immediately. The staff and Vet were AMAZING. They worked us in quickly and handled our case with upmost professionalism and compassion. When the doctor filled me in on my dog's condition and the prognosis was grim, she was very comforting and supportive in helping me have peace with the decision to let him go. Having my boy euthanized was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever faced but the staff at Bear Creek did everything in their power to comfort me and take away my boy's pain and let him pass peacefully. I was not rushed and was encouraged to take as long as needed to say my good byes to my beloved fur baby. I am eternally grateful for their compassion in handling this difficult time along with their fairness on the invoice. I was very emotional and would have paid anything without thinking twice to help my boy but they didn't take advantage of a heartbroken mama who was saying good bye to her fur baby.
