The man was holding a tool bag. He knocks twice, waits 1-2 seconds, enters the door code and enters the cabin. I was not notified of any maintenance happening nor did I approve of that. We contacted the local police and alerted them of this. I feel deeply uncomfortable and appalled that this has happened. We contacted Yonder but they were no help at all. Do not book with this company!

Truly not what I expected, in the best way possible…read more We stayed in the Raccoon Loft through LivingSocial, which has a lofted "bedroom" upstairs over a living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and another bedroom with a door. There were raccoons everywhere! From the lamp, to the salt and pepper holder, to every figurine, to the beanie baby hanging off the curtain rod... there was no mistake where we were! We had a great porch with a grill, and then next to the cabin was an outside area with chairs and a fire pit. Oh, and our cabin had the BEST MOVIE COLLECTION EVER. If you don't agree with me, there is also directv. As comfortable as our loft was, I could not get over the nature trails. We stumbled upon one after finding the tree house, and couldn't stop searching. So much thought throughout the whole area, I loved it. I commented immediately on our arrival how I thought someone had sprinkled the whole area in silver confetti (I believe thanks to the micah), but honestly, I would not put it past the owners to have sprinkled it themselves. So you can pan for gold in the "river", hang out on groovy way, play checkers in a hen house (beware the fox!), and oh, so much more. I think my favorite may have been the tree of prehistoric creatures... not to ruin too many surprises. it was a little odd being the only ones on property during the offseason, but during its peak times I could see some great times for kids as they make new friends in the common areas, playing horseshoes or checkers. Seriously, so awesome, I definitely could have stayed much longer! And I can't wait to return! Cell/internet was definitely spotty, so if you're looking for that type of seclusion, you can get it here!

Inside we had a full kitchen, plenty of heat options because for this Florida girl it was cold as an icicle hanging off of Jack Frosts nose. Plenty of comfy fluffy pillows (I love a ton of pillows) and blankets. In winter bring slippers (floors stay cold...duh! Lol). It was too cold to sit outside on the cute porch. I would come back again. Are there fancier places close by, yes, but I would come back here again. If you are expecting one of those "fancy log cabins in the mountains that you see for $100's/night" this is not that. It was just as advertised and was on a main road leading to downtown.

One of the unique features is that the back deck has large tree trunks coming through the floor and roof. They add to the treehouse atmosphere, although they aren't actual live trees and do sway, so don't plan on hanging a camping hammock from them. One thing to know before booking is that there's a short hike down to the cabin from the parking area, about 1-2 minutes on a downward slope trail with rocks. We packed light, so it wasn't an issue, but it could be an unpleasant surprise for elderly guests or anyone bringing heavy luggage. The treehouse cabin next door, River Pines, has a shorter walk, and the other regular cabins have parking at the cabin. The back deck overlooks the river as well as a few long-term RV sites. There is a path behind the cabin leading toward the river, but the waterfront areas directly behind the cabin are occupied by the leased RV sites. To access the river, walk to the right toward the tubing entrance, or continue past the playground and bathhouse to the main riverfront common area, which is also a convenient tubing exit point. There's parking near the common area, making it easy to bring coolers, chairs, floats, fishing supplies and other gear for an afternoon by the water. The tubing was the main event and very relaxing. The website listing is somewhat vague, but the cabin does include linens (sheets and bath towels), kitchen basics (dishes, utensils, cookware, dish wash basics), a refrigerator, small oven/stove, microwave, toaster, broom and charcoal grill. Bring your own pool towels and shower essentials. A few downsides: there is no fire pit, only 1 parking spot, and the main bedroom mattress has poor support and dips in the middle. Some arcade machines were broken or took quarters without working. The biggest drawback was the value. Our stay came out to more than $600 for two nights after the cleaning fee. The $95 cleaning fee felt steep considering guests are asked to wash and put away dishes, leave the cabin tidy, and take out trash. This price would be worth it if it had designated river access directly behind the unit. The campground is largely RV residential. Overall, it's a unique and enjoyable place to stay, especially if you're visiting nearby Tallulah Gorge State Park. We enjoyed our stay as a one time experience. The front office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our friends stayed in the honey bear cabin, which was about a 10 min walk from Rushing Waters. Although not as charming or spacious as Rushing Waters, we liked their screened porch, extra bedroom and easy access as you can park right in front of it. Plus, it has a firepit.

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! 3 bedrooms on the main floor (one king, one queen and two twins), two full baths and a living room / common area with balcony. There is a master suite above this living room / common area with a queen bed, full bath and balcony. The lower level is the kitchen with laundry area, table for 6 and common area. Outside are several decks to choose from including a nice one on top of the boat house. There's also two kayaks, one sit on and one sit in. This property is right across from the dam and this cove is a great place for some kayaking. We (5 friends) had a great week here and Debbie was wonderful to work with and we're already planning a return visit.

This was not our first choice of rentals, but since our reserved property was sold, this was the recommendation (and also $1000 more expensive). Do NOT stay here if you can avoid it for the money. The pictures on the website are old and deceiving. We were not expecting luxury, but for that price, we did have some expectations. The house is dated. That could have been overlooked had it been a little cleaner and cared for. The kitchen is a disaster. The dishwasher door just drops to the floor when you open it and might be from the '80s. The fridge does not have an ice-maker (something you would expect for the price), is dented and one of the door shelves is held together BY TAPE!!! Again, not looking for luxury, but you do have some expectations at that price. The view is great. At least what you can see of it. The pictures offered are a bit outdated - the trees are in desperate need of trimming. When you book a house on the lake with a view, you don't expect to spend that much time indoors, and we didn't. Which brings me to the screened-in porch. OMG, disgusting is the first word to come to mind. The furniture is beyond repair and filthy, not to mention and huge liability. When I mentioned it to Melissa (owner of Exclusive Mountain Properties), I was told that furniture was "a family heirloom" and "nostalgic." Ummm, in what century?? Imagine your parents patio furniture. Then your grandparents and that is what you will get. Rusted and broken metal junk. A genuine safety hazard. And the cushions were in deplorable condition. We were told it was water stains from the rain. If that's the outcome of rain in Lake Lure, NC, I'd rather never visit again. In no possible way were those stains from rain. Human body fluids (pee, dirty diapers come to mind)...you get the point. We spent our first full day there talking to and waiting on maintenance (the hot tub also didn't work but that's another paragraph) only to drive 30 or so minutes to WalMart to buy cleaning supplies and chairs to even be able to enjoy the screened porch and boat house (again, another paragraph). Yes, we spent the first full day of vacation shopping for cleaning supplies and chairs and cleaning. And guess what?? We got a two day refund because the items in the boat house were not properly put away. I'm tired of typing...I think I made my point. If you want to stay at Lure ME, buyer beware, there is no way on earth this is their most sought-after and requested property. I encountered several issues that made my stay uncomfortable, including: * Smell - Mold/Mildew/Smoke - very stale and irritating allergens - it was hard to even stay inside the smell was so offensive * Jacuzzi tub - black grit/dirt coming out of faucet with water; loud squealing noise in pipes? * Hot Tub - green slime in tub, odd chemical smell - not related to chlorine products * Tub/Shower - brown water coming out of faucet for extended period of time * TV remote would not work * Yellow stained sheets, smelling of smoke All of these were discovered upon check-in. It appeared that the cabin may not have been used for some time and wasn't updated for guest arrival. We attempted to eliminate the odor with sprays/disinfectants that we had to go and purchase. We then attempted to use the hot tub, jets would not stay on and there appeared to be some sort of slime in the tub. Upon exiting the hot tub, we tried the jacuzzi tub to rinse the slime off; that water was just as bad, then attempted to shower only to find it much worse. We gave the cabin a chance even though we weren't happy upon arrival. Things just progressively got worse. This was such a disappointment for our Anniversary stay. We travel often and have rented cabins in a variety of areas across the country. Older/aged cabins are common to us; this was well below expectations and description. We unfortunately did not trust that we would be able to seek resolution at 10pm and chose to check into a cabin owned by a different company. We did not get settled until well after midnight somewhere else and lost so much time.

The house itself is exceptionally well stocked. It truly feels like a cross between a five star hotel and an Airbnb. When we walked in, it felt as though we were the very first guests. Everything is brand new, in perfect condition, and spotlessly clean. Truly, all you need to bring is a toothbrush and food. Everything else has been thoughtfully provided. The layout was ideal for our family of four with two adults and two kids. The main level includes a comfortable living area, dining space, kitchen, and bathroom. The hot tub is just outside the back door, making it incredibly easy to enjoy. Upstairs, there are two matching primary suites, each with a very comfortable king bed and a spacious bathroom with both a tub and shower. The laundry is also upstairs and conveniently located. The listing mentions three bedrooms, which can be a bit confusing. The bunk beds are more of an extra sleeping area adjacent to the two bedrooms. It is really a very spacious two bedroom home, and it worked perfectly for us. We were visiting friends who have a home in Wolf Laurel near the new Hatley Pointe ski resort. I did not want to stay in an old, moldy cabin, and while this home required a bit more driving, it was absolutely worth it. We loved this house and are already looking at dates for our next stay.
