I strongly urge anyone seeking to book through Yonder "luxury" rentals to book through any other platform. We booked a property that turned out to be unsafe due to hazardous road conditions and a polluted lake (the home sits on the lake) because of Hurricane Helene. This poses a significant fire risk from propane and gas contamination. Both conditions are confirmed by state and local government. Almost all WNC, is without safe drinking water and electricity. Any essential resources needed to make this trip SAFE, would be taking away from the community. Despite our concerns and the imminent nature of our trip (just three days away), the company refused to provide any proof of safety or make accommodations for us. Safety should be a priority, and it's concerning that they would overlook such critical issues. However, Yonder has proved that they do not care for their customers safety and well being. They are in the business of scamming their customers out of their money. The way that they have handled their customers during this natural disaster is absolutely disgraceful. They have failed miserably in their line of communication and do not deserve anyone to continue lining their pockets with any more money. To make this situation more comical, Yonder's own website clearly states travel to and in the area is unsafe.

My wife and I rented the Whispering stream house to see if we wanted to spend a week here with the whole family next year when our daughter gets married. First of all, the view is great. It has five full bedrooms, numerous well-appointed baths, and numerous table games and TVs throughout. The kitchen is big enough to accommodate cooking for everyone if all the rooms were full. The parking might be tight if you bring more than 3 cars, though. There is a nice seating area in the side yard that is fenced with a fire pit. As of our rental, it is pet friendly, though no more than 2 dogs. 15 minutes to Hendersonville and about 30 minutes to Asheville. Found a photo album that showed the house had been renovated in 2012. It is still in good shape, but the furniture is dated and has a lot of wear. The cushions were faded, dirty, and torn. Some of the outdoor furniture was unusable due to rot or damage. The company was told, so that might be remedied soon. Keep us posted. The view is still spectacular, but the trees have grown up a bit so not as good as the photos on the rental site (nature gets 2 stars for blocking the view (lol) ). Would rent again if the furniture situation gets fixed.

DO NOT BOOK - PREDATORY COMPANY USE AIRBNB FOR YOUR NEXT ASHEVILLE STAY I booked a property for a trip scheduled to start in just 3 days. After the heartbreaking destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, I reached out to Yonder for next steps. Through my own research, I discover that the home is located on a lake polluted with propane, gas, and debris. State and local government have issued a Do Not Travel Advisory as the roads are UNSAFE or being used for first responders. Despite the obvious safety hazards, the company has refused to refund my booking and has NOT provided any updates on whether the property is safe to stay in. This is theft as they cannot render the service. The lack of communication and disregard for customer safety is appalling. I expected a "reputable company" to prioritize the well-being of its guests, but Yonder has failed miserably. I strongly advise anyone considering booking with them to think twice. Your safety and peace of mind are clearly not their priority. I highly recommend all potential customers book through Airbnb, who offer a "Major Disruptive Event Policy," to protect yourself from dishonest businesses like Yonder.

Yonder rental property, NOT as Advertised!! This storage unit is blocking the one path to house. The garage is not for guests to use.

Cubs Den is located in an incredibly beautiful setting close to Asheville with easy access to great skiing and hiking. It feels wonderfully remote while still being very convenient to town and nearby amenities. Watching deer wander into a field below the house at sunset was the best. The house itself is exceptionally well stocked. It truly feels like a cross between a five star hotel and an Airbnb. When we walked in, it felt as though we were the very first guests. Everything is brand new, in perfect condition, and spotlessly clean. Truly, all you need to bring is a toothbrush and food. Everything else has been thoughtfully provided. The layout was ideal for our family of four with two adults and two kids. The main level includes a comfortable living area, dining space, kitchen, and bathroom. The hot tub is just outside the back door, making it incredibly easy to enjoy. Upstairs, there are two matching primary suites, each with a very comfortable king bed and a spacious bathroom with both a tub and shower. The laundry is also upstairs and conveniently located. The listing mentions three bedrooms, which can be a bit confusing. The bunk beds are more of an extra sleeping area adjacent to the two bedrooms. It is really a very spacious two bedroom home, and it worked perfectly for us. We were visiting friends who have a home in Wolf Laurel near the new Hatley Pointe ski resort. I did not want to stay in an old, moldy cabin, and while this home required a bit more driving, it was absolutely worth it. We loved this house and are already looking at dates for our next stay. Huge thank you!

NEVER AGAIN! When we…read morefirst arrived at our Airbnb, hosted by Carolina Mornings, the first thing we noticed was how dirty the hot tub cover and outdoor tables were. Granted, this was a cabin surrounded by many trees, so a light layer of dust would be expected and acceptable. However, these were well beyond that. As we approached the front door, we noticed that the outdoor couch had several holes. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious a rodent had been living in it, making it completely unusable. We walked inside the cabin, unloaded our vehicle, and settled in. Immediately, we messaged Carolina Mornings to express our disappointment, stating that it looked like weeks or months had passed since these items were last maintained. They responded that "the furniture and hot tub space are exposed to the elements, and sometimes dust, pollen, and even critters can build up quickly between cleanings. That said, it should have been better prepared for your arrival, and I apologize that it wasn't." Later, Vince called and said they would have the couch cushions cleaned and sanitized. We explained that the items were likely beyond repair, having already sent photos. A few hours later, they called back stating they couldn't repair or replace the item during our 8-night stay. They advised us to throw away the cushions and pillows, then suggested we use indoor couch cushions outside. They offered tickets to nearby attractions, but we declined, explaining that we specifically booked this cabin to enjoy its outdoor space, not local attractions. The following night, we decided to relax and tried turning on the TV for the first time, only to find it unplugged with no working remotes. The soundbar remote didn't work, and the Dish Network remote wouldn't sync. We sent photos and explained we had to hook up our laptop to watch anything, which was absurd. They said a technician would come in the morning. The next evening, after being out all day, we returned to find nobody had come and we hadn't received a call. Carolina Mornings then claimed, "From your message yesterday, we understood you had sorted out the TV issue, so we didn't send a technician." I reiterated our frustration and asked for escalation to a manager. They replied, "I apologize that the technician did not follow through this morning as expected." I asked which statement was true since both couldn't be. They avoided answering, then said they'd send a tech. The technician later confirmed it was a syncing issue requiring Dish Network support. Again, there was no follow-up. After 24 more hours with no contact, I messaged Carolina Mornings. They apologized and said a new remote had "already" been ordered. I responded, "Are you not going to escalate this? Is there no manager? Are you refusing? 'Already'? We checked in Thursday. Tomorrow is Monday--halfway through our stay. This should've worked before we arrived. Communication would have gone a long way." They said their admin team would reach out Monday, but this was wrong because Monday was a holiday. Someone finally contacted me on Tuesday. Jodi, a team lead, called. When she learned we had to move the indoor cushions outside and back in daily, she claimed they'd told us to flip the original cushions and put a throw on top. That was false, and I reiterated what had actually been said. I explained there were too many different people involved with no resolution and again asked if she was a manager. She was only a team lead. After several back-and-forth messages with Jodi--and declining free tickets again--she offered to remove 1 of 8 nights (not including fees) as their "best offer." I told her my only recourse would be to contact Airbnb directly, which I did. Airbnb reviewed everything and responded with a fair resolution, stating they would contact Carolina Mornings and that situations like this could result in a suspension of the host's account. Interestingly, while reading prior reviews, we discovered that another guest also reported problems with rodents. This confirmed our concerns weren't isolated. To make matters worse, Carolina Mornings' rental agreement is over 7,800 words long--unbelievable for an Airbnb stay. Throughout this entire experience, they consistently pointed fingers, avoided accountability, failed to escalate issues despite multiple requests, and even contradicted themselves to cover mistakes. We booked this cabin to enjoy the outdoor space and relax. Instead, we spent our vacation dealing with filth, unusable furniture, rodents, a broken TV, poor communication, and outright lies. Avoid Carolina Mornings at all costs.

It's perfectly decorated, cozy and the layout is very family-friendly or bachelorette/bachelor party-friendly with several huge communal areas. My kids went wild over the tree house bunk room and the master suite is incredible. We LOVED the view from the hot tub! There were LOTS of things I loved about the house, but I was really impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with quality items. I usually bring my own serving platters, knives, trash bags, paper towels, etc. and we never even had to unpack any of those items. The kitchen had everything you could need -- from a variety of coffee to ziploc bags to massive serving platters. The rest of the house was thoughtfully stocked too with things like laundry detergent, shampoo & conditioner, firewood, etc. Another feature that was hugely helpful was every thing was labeled in the house -- all of the remotes, switches, speaker system, wi-fi, etc. Lastly, Jay (the owner) is an incredible host. He had his phone number posted in several places so you can easily reach him and was a breeze to work with.

Let me start by saying that Jay, the owner of the 3 Upstream Way homes (Penthouse, Bachelorette,…read moreBohemian), is amazing. He has built a beautiful oasis of upscale, modern, cozy homes overlooking the French Broad River and the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. I highly encourage you to book 1-3 of his side by side homes (soon to be 4!) for your family, friends, celebration, etc. He spared no expensive in constructing and decorating the homes and it shows. I wish I could live full time in any of his houses. They have literally any amenity you could need and then some. No detail is too small for him to notice. We booked his 3 houses to hosts guests in lieu of an isolating hotel block for our wedding. Our friends were super excited- we planned to put friend groups together in different houses and it was going to be a reunion weekend for so many people! Sadly we had to cancel because of the pandemic- but that can't stop me from recommending Jay's accommodations. In addition to staying at one of the houses ourselves, we were going to hold the ceremony at the end of the road directly adjacent to the houses. Jay was incredibly generous with his time, giving us tours of the property, discussing modifications to fit our needs, figuring out bed arrangements to fit our guests, etc. We had several calls and meetings with him over the course of a year as we planned our wedding on his property. Of all the people we worked with over the course of planning the wedding, he was the one we felt the most confident about in terms of seeing our plans through. Such a friendly guy! He really care about making sure you have a great time during your stay. If you're just looking for a few days vacation in Asheville, it's the perfect spot. Great house, great location. Borrow his inner tubes and go for a ride down the French Broad River to the New Belgium Brewery. Relax in the hot tub. Enjoy the high quality, high tech amenities. Perfect for friends, families, anyone. If you're looking to plan something more than just a few days vacation- whether it be a wedding, corporate retreat, reunion, etc- this is the place. Jay will help with whatever you need to make your special event function smoothly. I truly can't recommend him enough. He's a gem.

Excellent stay! Second time at Asheville Cottaged and we cannot say enough about the experience. They think of everything to make your experience top notch! We arrived and were feeling a little snacky. No problem! The snack tree and variety of waters/soft drinks/juiced beverages in the fridge were welcome! We browsed the binder for suggestions on where to grab dinner. After dinner at White Duck Taco, we stopped Ingles for a few groceries. Of course, Tracie and Marshall made sure each cottage had an Ingels savings card to use! Need a battery? Under the kitchen sink. Ziplock bag? Yep..,check a drawer in kitchen. They think of everything you may need and have it on hand for you! Loved the soaking tub! Loved the heated bathroom floor. Loved heated toilet seat. Accidentally hit a button on the bidet in the middle of the night and got a little surprise rinse off. . The big surprises were seeing a few bears late one afternoon behind the cottage (Magnolia). Thankfully, we just sat quietly on the deck and they looked at us and took off for the woods. Overall, it was a great trip and on the flight home, I started to look at availability to come back for a girls trip later in the Fall with my sister and niece. But before I could book anything, Hurricane Helene severely impacted the area. My heart breaks for all the families who lost loved ones in this disaster. By finding them on social media to see if they were ok, I found out that thankfully Asheville Cottages did not sustain much damage due to their location. Since Asheville tourism is essentially stopped, Tracie and Marshall have graciously opened their cottages to local families who have been displaced by the hurricane as they still have electricity and water. They also are still paying their employees salaries during this time (as they did during Covid) - taking care of them like family. THIS is exactly the kind of small business that my husband and I are proud to support so we will be staying at Asheville Cottages next time we come to Asheville...whenever that can happen.
