I thought I had an appointment confirmed but then I was told because I didn't call someone back it was cancelled..then they showed up?? The guys were nice. Eli explained what they were doing. They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

That caused the pool solar to spray water toward the chimney. The mortar was falling apart in some places too, so water could potentially leak in through the sides of the chimney. Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. The installers were quick and professional and did a good job installing the new gas insert, everything looks great and the fire is warm. :)

After reviewing the damage, Marvin indicated that it could be rebuilt and upgraded. After securing all necessary parts, Marvin and his associate completely rebuilt and upgraded the fireplace. Also, there is stuffing coming out of the back rest cushions because there is no liner between the filler and the Sunbrella fabric. I am deeply disappointed in the quality of what I purchased and the store's inability to ensure I get everythingI paid for. Update 12/6/24: They ordered furniture covers from a different place now so that I can get covers sooner. Have been promised delivery in 5-7 business days. Fingers crossed. Update 12/26/24: I got the new covers in that timeframe. They work well and the store called me to make sure they arrived and that I am satisfied with them. This follow up was a nice touch.
