I explained the need for a written quote before scheduling so that I could provide the details to my Home Warranty company for reimbursement. Karla was right on top of the situation. She provided my quote and scheduled the installation. AB Construction sent out 2 awesome guys, Victor and Jacob. They arrived on time and they were professional, personable and just the best subs I have ever had. The electrician was awesome and had the hard wiring done without any issues Both Victor & Jacob knew exactly what to do. I had a bad leak from a window and AB Construction came out right away and placed a tarp (which was what was needed) and saved my unit from getting water damage. They explained exactly where the leak was coming from and make a recommendation. I know that's a small job, but because of their clarity in communication and attention to detail, I would definitely contact them for a larger job. read more

My wife and I wanted to get our windows replaced in our house. In April he came out and took measurements saying he would give us a deposit receipt to begin the work and start the project. After multiple calls and no follow-up, it is now JULY and nothing has been done. Although I have no bad project results to judge this business on, I have terrible customer service experience, empty promises to get the job done before June 1st, and the same old windows. I have paid nearly $5,000 to replace my shower and drain 5 years ago. Now, the shower drain has come loose. When I took photos of the drain and showed them to 2 plumbers, they told me a properly glued drain should not just come loose and that I should contact my original contractor who installed it. So, I contacted Andy the owner to come out and investigate and send someone to fix it. Instead of coming out and looking at it, he wanted me to text him the photos, which I did. He responded my text and he will charge $125 to fix it. I did not feel I needed to pay any money to fix the problem and I sent him a text saying so. He completely ignored my text. After 5 days, I sent him another text. Then, he responded he will not fix the problem without my paying him. This company do not take their responsibility of doing the job properly in the first place! read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Andy, his office, and his crew. We had a very unfortunate situation with a previous contractor and Andy was a breath of fresh. He, along with his architect Clay and engineer, were able to repair the damages from previous contractor and complete a beautiful ADU garage conversion. I think the photos speak for themselves. I couldn't be happier. They also offer repair services or small jobs which I've used them for both. They have been super responsive. Andy even showed up late at night on a Friday when my water heater broke (Andy showed up in a suit on his way to a function! I felt terrible calling afterwards- face palm). Where do I start, a nightmare, we trusted AB Construction and we were greatly disappointed. The owner Andy has so many unfinished jobs for us and has excuses and overcharged us on so many items. He actually tried to charge us $350.00 to hang a light in our Kitchen that took him 10 Minutes, When confronted about the price he actually said that he had to cut the wire. He also tried to charge us $700.00 to take a mirror off the wall. He said he had to patch up the wall and still there was on the same bill a charge of $1500.00 to patch up the walls in my house, He also tried to charge us $200.00 to move my refrigerator 20 feet after he moved the Refrigerator away from the wall and tried to charge me $250.00 to put a different outlet into the wall. I'm not saying that every job was bad, but the majority of them had problems. they stuccoed one of my 3 fireplaces and the hearth came out 2 inches larger on one side than the other. Andy said he would take care of it but it's been 3 months and nothing has been taken care of. The list goes on and on. We hired him to install our Kitchen, they put the cabinets in before they painted the walls, he wanted an extra $400.00 to put the handles on the Kitchen cabinets even though he agreed to do our Kitchen at a certain price, He tried telling me that handles aren't included in the price of my Kitchen. My kitchen still isn't done, he started in March, it's the 3rd week of July. It took him a month to put a switch on the other side of our kitchen to turn on/off the lights when entering or exiting. There are other things his workers destroyed in out House. I paid $3500.00 to do my garage floors, his worker stacked liquid leveling compound on my floor and the bag was broken and leaked harden on my Garage floor and basically destroyed the finish of the floor. He had one of his workers put epoxy on the spot but it peeling off already. It need to be done over again. I can go on and on but what's the use? I have such a headache from these people. Andy is a shmoozer, and a hustler, I can respect that in him, but for me the work is substandard for a high end house. Andy has a problem following thru on what's important for the client. read more

Do not use these people. I live in Lincoln Hills, they charged me for work that WAS NOT DONE. Specifically I paid big bucks for interior painting. The lazy SOB's DID NOT PAINT THE GDAM WINDOW FRAMES OR THE SILLS!! Unbelivevable. I was out of town therefore I did not monitor this shoddy work. They splattered the wall paint on the base board. Working with AB Construction was just awful. Simply put, they ruined the experience of moving into our forever home. Andy (the owner) came out and twice walked through the job task by task. I even wrote out a workload description on a Google Sheet since he never provided a workload summary. He said it would take no longer than a week since it was all basic stuff (a dozen or so recessed lights, tv mount and outlet, four overhead fans, a window and door glass, and porch post and eave repairs, and some odds and end other things). It took TWO Months and that was not the worst part. Here is a list of some of the things that were not done right or needed to be redone multiple times (included pictures for some). 1. Install a TV mount (with the exact TV on site for measuring) - Holes all through wall like Swiss Cheese. It was like they just kept drilling without measuring or detecting studs. 2. Recessed lights marked all over the ceiling or holes drilled next to them. 3. Recessed lights not hung flush to the ceiling. Had to have him come back multiple times to adjust. 4. Instead of replacing a light and adding one in the kitchen his team added another light, which resulted in us having to change the aesthetic and lighting arrangement in the kitchen and patch & repair work. 5. Installed the incorrect lights in our hallway even though they clearly marked (and talked about during the walkthrough). 6. Marks on the wall from his crew leaving ladders against them. 7. A razor blade was left on my kid's bedroom floor at the end of the day. 8. Not repairing all the eaves and having to come back for a missed one. 9. A post bracket was installed poorly and is hanging off the post. 10. The bedroom fan remotes were installed or not installed three different ways or nothing at all. 11. One of the fans was installed with the blades rotating the opposite way even though they others were all rotating the same direction. I could go on. The point is that Andy and his crew never executed with quality and attention to detail. They were either rushing to get through or just lacked the accountability to do the job right. What makes it worse is that Andy (as you will read from other reviews) verbally attacks the customer when you hold him and his crew accountable for their work. He is unprofessional, lacked oversight of his crews, and delivered poor quality work. AB Construction failed to deliver on the most basic project. I would strongly consider this experience and whether you want to risk having the same thing. read more

Incredibly fast, friendly, and affordable relative to other contractors in the area. Andy and all of his sub-contractors are great and very detail-oriented. I used them to remodel my entire kitchen as well as a few small fixes around the house, and it's turned out amazing. It feels like an entire new house. I hired Andy to provide me a fence report. The assistant was very responsive. Andy went over to my house and unknowingly to me used my call for request of service to provide a signed report to my neighbors who we are in a lawsuit instead of providing me a report. Andy and team to the rescue again, today. Appliance deliveries never go according to plan, and today's was no different. What was supposed to be a delivery, install and haul away found me instead with a brand new 500 lb. built-in refrigerator in my driveway, and the old refrigerator still inside. One phone call to Andy, and an hour later I had four guys at the house ready to go. Another two hours later and I have a new refrigerator inside, hooked up and working, and the old one is gone. Very rude workers and unresponsive owner! There are two workers working in the outside of our building where I work. They parked two vehicles and blocked off a third spot where they are actively working. I asked them if they could move one of the trucks to allow better access to our building and they refused. I can understand why they have one truck there because it is bordering their workspace, but the second truck does not need to be there and is right in front of our entrance, making it hard for our patients to enter. When I pressed him he was very rude, stating he didn't work for me and I was just a troublemaker (no, I am looking out for my patients!). He told me he didn't work for me. I called the business and the owner apologized and said he would have them move it. Then said he would come out and make them move it. I guess he either doesn't care or has no control over his employees, because it's late afternoon and they are still there. read more

Andy and his team helped us with a full cosmetic upgrade of the interior of our house. They helped us raise a few of the ceilings, put in new lights, baseboards and helped coordinate painting. They were on the job the day after we closed and moved the project along quickly and efficiently. In my experience, any delays with work were due to materials shortages and were unavoidable. Andy has a lot on his plate so I've found that it is best to coordinate timing with his two office assistants. I'm personally grateful to Andy for getting us into our house within eight weeks of closing! read more

We contracted this company to do a few jobs around our house, which included restoring our pergola, updates to the washer / dryer placement, and fixing a bunch of broken brackets on our cabinetry and replacing a broken switch on our fume hood. We scheduled and agreed on a day for them to complete this work. Then, day of, they say they cannot complete all of the work due to scheduling issues (cabinets and washer dryer work). Then we rescheduled to another day, and then on THAT day, they again say they cannot come that day. When we finally try to reschedule the final time, they say they need to send cabinetry carpenters to do the job, which they initially quoted as something anyone can do easily and for 150-200$ tops and on top of that, they still cannot schedule the work. Mind you we are on our third reschedule at this point. Another thing to point out is that they said they could restore our pergola, the damage was minimal and that we could get another 10 years out of the restoration. Guess what, the guy that came said it was in much worse shape and that the effort would only save us about 5 years. Bait and switch much? What an incredible waste of money, I could have just purchased and installed a brand new pergola for a reasonable cost. On top of that, it was an incredible WASTE OF TIME. If you value your time and want someone that actually honors their commitments, please DO NOT CALL this company. 0 stars if I could. read more

Great service! Unbeatable price, and honest, nice guys. I had someone previously come and repair my washing machine, but they couldn't re-install it because there was some piping issues. I talked to Andy at AB Construction and he was very knowledgeable. He had his plumber, Alex, come out within a couple of hours of calling. Alex fixed my problem quickly and effectively. Our realtor recommended AB to do the miscellaneous work involved after our inspection prior to selling our house. Andy came over and reviewed the inspection report. He made notes on our copy of the report. He promised to get everything done before the House was listed. He also said he would give us an estimate for doing additional work on the frame for our front door. As the date to list the house got closer, we started calling to find out when the work would be completed. The scheduler has no clue as what was going on. Our realtor and us had to inform her so she could schedule. The biggest item was to straighten and add support to the piers under the house. They had completed some work and some additional items that we added. When we contacted Andy about the piers he said, they would be done after the House was in escrow. After we had an offer and a new inspection, they found the piers and added a new foundation inspection. During this time he sent out the initial billing. Included in the billing was a front door repair that was never completed. Andy responded rather curtly in an email that it was not in the billing or needed to be done. I had to scan and send him his own invoice to show it was in fact included! The work for the piers was done the day before escrow closed. A few weeks later we get the bill - we were charged significantly more for the work, than the initial estimate. Andy said it was because the second inspection showed additional piers that needed work and time was of the essence and it had to be done. Time should not have been an issue we authorized the work 2 months before the closing. We were never contacted about the extra charge. We were never informed the work was to done so late in the process. We were never given a formal estimate or timetable to complete the work. Andy never gave us an estimate to do the extra work on the door - in the end it was not required. Communication throughout this entire process was terrible at best. I would never recommend this company for any work. If you do hire them get a formal estimate and a set timeline. read more
