Never trust Luiz Ramirez…read more He charged me $600 to replace my flashing, but never took out the old flashing. He just added flashing on top of the old one only ON ONE SIDE. He then SPRAY PAINTED the other 3 sides black to make it look like new. It's still leaking afterwards, he said it's because the chimney has cracking on it. Lie after lie. I had another roofer to replace the flashing this year. Had to pay again.

I struggled with leaving this review because overall, I believe that Luis Ramirez is a very…read morefriendly and knowledgeable handyman who seems to have some pretty decent carpentry skills. I don't doubt that he can handle most repairs or any type of woodworking. Unfortunately, I hired him to paint the interior of my house and things didn't go so well. I initially invited him over to provide me several quotes to repair my deck and my roof, but seeing that it was still a bit too chilly for that type of work I decided to ask if he did any interior painting. He responded enthusiastically that he did and even provided me and my wife with a booklet of paint swatches from Sherwin Williams. We walked him around the house and basically told him we needed every room on every floor painted except for maybe 3 rooms. He provided us with a very reasonable quote and said he could get started in a couple days. He said that he and his guys would move/cover all furniture and fill all holes in the wall provided we removed all pictures/fixtures. Our house hasn't been painted in 16 years, so I asked if he would repair any existing damage to walls and he replied that he would. He also said our doors would be painted, too. Happy with his answers, we signed a quick contract and paid half up front. Well, the first day he showed up with roughly 7 people. They immediately went to work. It was chaos every where. I assumed incorrectly that they would focus on one or two rooms at a time, but there were people working all over the place. My family and I were fighting to find quiet spaces to telework and for the kids to take their classes. At the end of the first day, only one room was completed and it looked pretty bad. That honestly should have been my first clue that this probably wasn't going to end well, but after I learned that Luis' 15 year old son had painted the room, I decided to let them proceed after they fixed the mistakes. Plus, the new paint on the walls was starting to transform my house and we were excited for the change. Unfortunately, that's where the enthusiasm would end. As the days wore on, Luis and his crew were all through my house painting each room but doing a pretty mediocre job of it. The next several days consisted of me walking around the house and putting pieces of tape on the walls to indicate spots that had been missed or areas that needed to be redone. It was exhausting. By the end of the project, it felt like I was teaching Luis' workers how to paint. It was amazing to me that holes/nicks in the wall were not repaired. Tape was not used to cut around trim. My carpet and furniture was covered in paint. I eventually just gave up because it was clear that his workers weren't painters and they just simply lacked the skill to do the job right. That's not to say that they weren't hard workers because they were. They just shouldn't be painting the interior of someone's house. It took Luis and his crew six days to paint my house, but it's taken me almost three months to correct the worst of their mistakes. I've had to do touch-ups in every room they painted, and in a couple cases I've had to actually repaint entire rooms!! The really sad part is that many of the mistakes we've just decided to live with because it's too much work for me to do by myself and we don't really want to pay more money to have someone else come out and do the job right. And don't even get me started on all the paint that was spilled on my carpets. Now in addition to painting my house, I also asked Luis to replace the baseboard in my basement, remove a light fixture in my kitchen, and also build a new enclosure for my circuit breaker panel box. He personally completed all of that work himself and I'm extremely pleased with what he did. My only complaint here is that he did not replace the baseboard in my media closet (which is also part of my basement). Luis insisted that the media closet wasn't part of our agreement even though he measured it before we signed our contract. When he and his team packed up to leave, I noticed that they left a huge piece of baseboard in my garage. Coincidentally enough, that piece happens to be big enough to finish my media closet. Luis and his team were super nice guys and they worked long and hard hours. I would probably feel pretty good about hiring them to do carpentry work or maybe some other handyman-type of projects. Maybe I'd even be okay with them painting my deck. But I think I would look elsewhere if I needed someone to paint the interior of my house. This is a lesson I learned the hard way and I recognize that I shoulder a lot of the blame for not doing enough due diligence. Hopefully someone else can learn from my mistake. Oh, and did I mention that they didn't paint any of my doors?

They replaced the entire roof in 5 hours. They were very conscientious about keeping the work area clean, tarping around the entire house, with people on the ground dedicated to cleaning up the entire time. They left it neater than they found it. Thank you!

I was recommended to call David as he worked on my neighbors roof so he already was very familiar with my roof as well. We spoke on a Wednesday night, when I first noticed the damage, and we spoke about the height and type of house before he assured me that he would have people over the next day and "don't worry" because I was "looking at less than $200." Thursday morning he texts me to say that people won't be there until Monday because it won't rain soon (despite raining lightly since I called him) and my roof would be fine. Big red flag. I should have listened to my gut and cancelled. On Sunday I had a very reputable insurance appraiser come by to look at the damage and he told me the vents were fine in every way except for the caulk sealing had a corroded and needed to be redone. he also commented that my neighbors roof, that David had done, had a "Frankenstein patchwork job" and to not call those people as they were liable to break something on purpose to get more money out of me. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the good in people but that is exactly what happened. I explained to David that just the corroded sealing needed to be replaced but he had his guy rip up the pipe and seal it somewhere it didn't need to be then charged me $400. When I asked for an explanation for the sudden price double David told me that was the minimum for a 3 story house and that he was "sorry" for the misunderstanding and blamed it on the gas prices. This man spoke to me about my 3 story house the first time we talked, told me no more than $200 then had the audacity to charge me $400 for a $25 job. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They will scam you and steal your money.
