Great people that own the place. Real community oriented. Excellent steaks and cocktails.

Dear Senõr Fernando, I want to shout out from the rooftops…read moreabout your wonderful restaurant! During a long overdue reunion, my family had an absolutely wonderful time eating great food together in your restaurant. While sitting in your festive dining room complete with vivid color, carved furnishings with images of people from a cultural world personal to your history made us feel we were in different part of the world. A group of 5 adults (some local, some from Boston) rolled into Kettle Falls late last April. Your food was both nourishing and delicious. This speaks volumes about your commitment and true character as a restaurant owner. True hospitality starts behind the scenes. It embodies empathy, love, and respect to your customers. Your genuine love for food and people is revealed by the way you prioritize customer satisfaction. Your gracious hospitality rivals no other. Bravo, Senõr Fernando and to your team!

Once in a while you step into a restaurant that makes you feel right at home. This place does…read moreexactly that. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated like old friends, even though half our group had never been there before. We quickly learned this is a true family-run spot--mom, son, and daughter--and that warmth shows through in every detail: the service, the cleanliness, the décor, and especially the food presentation. We started with chips, a fresh cabbage mix, and generous bowls of house-made salsa that had just the right kick. For those who like it hotter, they thoughtfully offer bottles of well-known hot sauces: Tapatio (3,000 Scoville Heat Units SHU), El Yucateco green habanero (7,900 SHU), and El Yucateco red habanero (7,600-9,500 SHU). For comparison, classic Tabasco ranges 2,500-5,000 SHU. I really appreciated the attention to detail in giving customers a choice of heat levels. The service was fantastic. Drinks and salsa were refilled promptly, and everything came with a smile. My chimichanga was perfectly crisp--not greasy, as we've found at other places--and the Mexican rice was light and flavorful. My wife ordered a chicken taco salad and asked if she could add shrimp, even though it wasn't on the menu. Without hesitation, our server replied, "No problem, my friend." The shrimp arrived grilled to perfection. Even better, the hot ingredients were served inside the taco shell, while the lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and cheese were placed on the side. No soggy lettuce on hot meat--a thoughtful and refreshing presentation. Everyone in our party raved about their meals. Portions were so generous that most of us needed boxes to take food home. Final thoughts: Next time we make the 9-hour trip back to this area, this will be our go-to restaurant. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Bonus touches we noticed: * Pool table * Big-screen TV * Enormous margaritas being served * Beautifully painted booths and chairs * Plates served piping hot

Knotty Pine sounded like a cool, place to try and they brought the goods! The interior is not classy or "upscale," but it is clean, comfortable and welcoming. It's a seat-yourself kind of place, so it was a moment before we were handed menus and asked for drink orders. Then it was a rather lengthy wait before our orders were taken. However, it didn't take that long for the food to arrive and, I will say this, it was definitely worth the wait. I ordered the Crispy Dill Chicken Sandwich with tater tots. It arrived piping hot and oh-so-good. The fried chicken sandwich was indeed crispy, VERY flavorful with three crisp pickle slices in there. The chicken itself tasted like it was brined in pickle juice as well. If you like pickles, you'll love this sandwich. It was excellent! The tater tots .... well, how can you screw that up?? They were hot, tasty and plentiful. Now, while initially a little slow, the service is friendly and attentive. My iced tea was refilled without even getting halfway down. Prices were reasonable. We look forward to stopping again when we pass through Republic (and skip the local hustle).

My Turkey Club was pretty epic, size-wise, and the Tomato Basil side was actually quite good. Wifey was less satisfied with her French Onion, but it was more the portion than the flavor. All in all, a necessary meal to soak up the early evening's libations. Our visit deteriorated from that point on, but I sure can't fault the kitchen staff for a testy bar manager's attitude. And the other half of my sammie made for a nice end to a rather bacchanalian evening. At least I think I ate it? Wink wink...

Servers would stand to make more tip by actually waiting tables...but here you go to the counter and order at the register and they bring it to you instead. The overall feeling of this establishment is a snack bar not a diner restaurant that has prime rib on the menu. Getting your own drinks seems like a waste of money with the cups. Anyway, the food was okay. I think its too much bacon for a clam chowder lol like where was the clam just call it bacon chowder lol. Patty Melt was decent but I think the grilled onions need to be grilled more its like they barely touched the grill. My biggest gripe for me is the ranch.. thats the worst ranch Ive ever tasted. Please just buy hidden valley ranch seasoning then add mayo sourcream milk etc and dont mess with the flavoring too much your ranch was too sour (lemon?) or way expired lol... People seem to like to hang out way after they are done eating mostly an older crowd. Service was polite.
