Following some…read moresigns from the main road led to this small campground in a pretty little valley, where we were welcomed by the proprietor Dennis. He only charged us $20/night, even though it was eclipse weekend! He also offered us eclipse glasses for $3, if we hadn't brought any. Our spot had a flat area big enough for two tents, a little grassy area, a concrete slab with a picnic table, and an electric outlet. Dennis provided an anodized tub for a fire pit (most spots had fire rings) and had a stock of split firewood bundles at a very reasonable price. The bathrooms were nearby, had showers, and were clean the whole weekend. The campground had a swing set and playground, a nice grassy field, and a small fish pond with ducks to feed. Our seven year old had a great time playing and making friends. It's not big or fancy, but if we are ever back in the area, we know where to camp :)

Have made so many precious memories of our times together. Pictures of the great grandkids growing from year to year. Taking turns making meals & the fun & of exchanging gifts. The dirty Santa gift swap. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Jeanette is a fantastic hostess. Couldnt be more helpful. Have come to regard her as a friend. Cabins are the best. Will continue as long as we are physically able. Leaving today for a rare 3 night stay on a summer vacation at cabin #3. Can't wait. Highly recommend to all.

Group of 7 from Texas rented these cabins for a week to enjoy the local roads. WOW is all I can…read moresay. We fell in love instantly and enjoyed every moment at this cabin. We wish we could buy one for ourselves lol. The views aren't substantial, but the location was prime for reaching all of our destinations easily. This layout and floor plan easily accommodated all of us comfortably. If you are worried about space, don't even sweat it. I bet it could fit double with zero issues. All the amenities worked and Jeanette is so timely in responses and getting our needs met. There is something for everyone, seriously. The only bad thing you could possibly say is that the roads to get into the cabins is a bit confusing and a bit technical to drive with a full size truck and trailer. However, once you're in, you just hate to leave. I found at the end of every long day of riding, I was so happy to get to come home to Wildflower cabin #1 as my home. We checked in with friends who rented another cabin #7 and they raved about it as well. Look no further for your family lodging needs, this is the place you are looking for! =)

No issues until we check in when the management claimed we can have the service dogs during our stay, caged or with us at all times. We of course had no idea of this last minute demand and do not have a cage nor have we ever been told by any other establishment to have our set iced dogs in crates if left unattended. We have travel from Colorado to Florida for almost a decade with our service k9's. Mind you we travelled 6 hours for this trip. Once in the room for the evening the only bed in the cabin was as broken. The bed frame was broken in two pieces and collapsing in the middle, rendering it unusable. We called/text the manager/owner at the time of the incident , 11pm and the number we were provided . We received no response or reply. We slept on the floor until the next morning and still no manager contacted us. We called again the next morning at 0800 and got the owner and told her the situation and we are checking out early because of the above. Her exact words were, "ok" "I'll send maintenance". We waited for maintenance and they never showed. We finally left. No offer for any compensation for our subpar accommodations, no apologies for the terrible experience. In fact we got charged for the entire stay!!! Of 2 days yet only stayed one horrible night. Just disgusted. They are not pet friendly as claimed and lack professionalism and a basic sense of duty to their business and customers. The management was informed via cell/text at the time of incident no response at anytime. We had to contact them. It's ironic management responded to this review faster then a call for late night service. At no time were we contacted back from management for the service/ maintenance issue.

Some may call this glamping and that's fine call it what you want but I will call it the best place I have stayed at to date and it was 10x better than a hotel or an AirBnB. Jeanetta was so welcoming and hospitable and checked in on us via email and was also very easy to get a hold of with any issues. The Yurt itself was amazing! Pictures and words will not give this place justice it looks so much better in person. Not to mention you're only 20-30 mins away from the Great Smoky National Park. We are already in the process of booking again in the future. 10/10 recommend!

This year, had the same internet and tv problems again the last 2 nights of our stay. Decided to forfeit these last 2 nights and get out of this damn problem(s) place. Enough is Enough!!! Also, the hot tub water seemed dirty and no disinfectant tablet was in the floating device, completely empty. Had to have maintenance lady come for 1/2 day and completely drain all tub water, scrub the nasty sides & bottom, refill and add disinfectant tablet. Already mistakenly got in filthy tub one night. Just POOR MAINTENANCE ISSUES all around. In addition to poorly maintained gravel road that is so bumpy we probably need to replace vehicle shocks. Our $,$$$ with go elsewhere next year and beyond. Never Again!! BEWARE Folks.

I am so glad we found this place, even if it was for one night only. It was so worth it. The owners live on site, so they take care of this place and they are super nice and helpful with everything. We even sat with them at night down by the river at the covered fire pit. Wow! It was like sitting with family or old friends. The service is great... towels and soap for the shower... you have an ice bucket, a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The TV is on the wall and has DISH network. You see a lot of nature by the river. The elk are HUGE... and just take over... LOL. If you don't need a fancy place to stay, but want a down home friendly motel... this is the place. And the pool.... Super clean. The owners take pride in their establishment and it shows. We would stay again.

In the mornings you can hear the trains and whistles getting ready for the day of trips they do out of the depot. It's very nice and makes you feel at home. The cottage is well decorated and very clean. We loved the landscaping with a wide variety of flowering plants. The beds were very comfortable and claw foot tub was very cool. We met a lady at the chocolate shop that knew about Virginia and her home. Also, Faye at Walnut Creek Farms knew Virginia and told us stories of her. The cottage was the perfect jumping off point to explore the Smokies and surrounding towns like Cherokee. We did 3 waterfalls in the Deep Creek area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Lots of places to explore and check out in Bryson City as well. So much history and Nature to check out! We even watched Fireflies while sitting on the porch. A++++

After staying at the Deep Creek Campground for a few days without a shower, I felt quite grimy and…read morewas desperate for a shower. This campground / RV park is one of the few places that allows people from OTHER campgrounds to use their showers (for a small fee, of course). You just drive into the parking lot, find the trailer near the entrance with the small golf cart next to it, knock on the door, and the man who runs the campground will come out. Each shower is $5 but you'll feel like a million bucks afterwards. Try to bring exact change since he may not have change. If the office trailer with the golf cart isn't obvious, there should be a paper posted on the door of the little building closest to the road directing you where to go. Though the interior was very dimly lit, the showers in the women's bathhouse seemed clean. The toilets were not clean, though--I advise not using them. There are also electrical outlets around the sink where you can charge your stuff. No one else entered the bathhouse while I was in it. Bear Hunter Campground is pretty close to the Bryson City downtown (though you'll definitely need a car). Hike all day in the Smokey Mountains, take a shower here, and go back to your campground to rest at night.

Plenty of pillows and extra blankets/sheets. Very clean but no smell of artificial fragrances or cleaners. The views are incredible. The hot tub was relaxing after a day of hiking near by. Love how close the cabin is to the cute Bryson Cit's downtown and convenient to grocery stores. We want to come back again with our families- the game room downstairs would be a great spot for the teens (& husbands) and there were more beds in the loft that we didn't even use. Loved this cabin and will definitely be back!
