I would have to agree with all the pervious reviews. I won't regurgitate what everyone has said but I will say. The owners are nice and make you feel comfortable. They keep an eye on the place but you don't feel like JOHNNY LAW is keeping an eye on you. If you can handle highway noise and freight trains passing by every couple hours you will like this place. Right now there is road construction on the main highway which causes the semi's to use there jake brakes as they slow down adds more road noise. I found a good trick for people in Rv's / trailers. To help kill the road noise I turn the central air fan to ON rather than auto. This continually runs the fan to drown out the road and train noise. Your AC / heater will kick on as normal when it is needed. THE BIG THING!! The on ramp headed towards Missoula is closed. You must get on the on ramp heading towards Butte (the opposite direction) and cut back through the cones to head towards Missoula. Otherwise dive something like 15 miles to the next exit to turn around. Star rating: 2 Road & Train noise. 1 road construction added noise and confusion. 5 clean and functional bathrooms. 5 host friendliness. 1 River access. 1 things for kids to do. (No playground, pool or anything). 5 open space /common area (play soccer or something). 4 cleanliness of campground (owner has a lot of toys around the property otherwise it would be a 5). 5 size of campsites. 1 dump station location. 5 food truck and coffee cart on premises. 5 free live band on Friday or Saturday. 1 location 30+ miles from Missoula. 3.5 view. Overall I feel this place is above average even with the road and train noise. I just wish it was closer to anything; it's literally in the middle of nowhere.

Great place to just stop and relax right off the highway. Not a lot to do. You can't get to the river. The scenery is pretty. You can see the river. You do hear the highway and the train. It's to bad. They have electric and water at each site. The dump is on your way out of the campground.

Had the RV sites with hookups been $25 I would have rated this a 5. Or if they had Sewer hookup for the rate charged. 30amp sites are $35. 50 amp sites are higher. That's cash or check. They do not take Credit Cards. Sites do not have sewer but they do have a dump station. The park is right along the beautiful Clark Fork River. That is a plus. The negative is right across the river is the interstate. Just beyond that is a well used railroad track. There is background noise from both. Though not loud enough to silence the chirping of the birds. Some sites are in full sun. Others are under large cottonwood trees and pine trees. The owners do maintain the grounds very well and are super friendly. If the timing were such I would definitely stay here again. Update: I have actually stayed on two additional trips passing by this location. Mostly due to the friendly staff. That goes a long way for a few of the other things lacking.

The first thing as…read moresoon as we pulled in I couldn't get out of my car because of the dogs that were barking aggressively at us right outside the door of our car, right next to the signs that say "No pets in this area" and "All pets must be on leash." When I finally got inside to check in, I mentioned the dogs and the lady working inside said,"The signs don't apply to the owners dogs." Later that evening there was an older gentleman with 2 smaller dogs on a leash trying to take his dogs for a walk, but the owners dogs ambushed the guys dogs, running up to them barking and nipping at them. The owner was nowhere to be seen to control her dogs. The next night when we returned to the campground when I pulled in I turned the corner real slow because I knew the dogs would probably be there, and stopped at the stop sign and continued to our site. A few minutes later the owner came rushing over on her golf cart with her pack of barking dogs and started chewing my husbands ass about how he didn't stop at the stop sign and that the speed limit is 5 mph in the campground and that she watched him pull in, and when I said that was funny because he wasnt driving and I did stop at the stop sign because I knew there were dogs around there. she then told me that I was wrong and that I needed to follow her rules and that I needed to move the car because we were parked on the grass, which there is no grass, it's all weeds. When looking around I noticed that half of the people staying there, or I should say living there were parked on the "grass." While this was going on her dogs were running around our camp site barking at us. The dumpsters were filled with garbage, the noise from the highway is loud, and the people that live there have junk and broke down cars all over the place. The only good thing about this place is that the bathroom was clean.

Make sure you stop at her stop sign or she will chase you down and yell at you. Heck, I stopped and she chased me down at yelled at me because she did a California stop.... Yup, I stopped completely and then continued but since I am from California it wasn't a stop... The 2 dumpsters were overflowing with trash on the ground, one resident is building flower boxes and stairs for his income to pay his monthly rent. The laundry is not ventilated but read the sign and don't open the window or you will get yelled at. Our daughter lives in Missoula and we will be going to see her again, but we won't be staying at this location, because when our daughter went to check in at the office to say she was visiting us, the lady want going to let her into the park to park her car behind our rig and car (there was plenty of room. They make you sign a long list of conditions when you arrive but do not give you a copy for reference. We set up our dog fence and just when I was finished a young lady, who looked like a college student working there in the Summer, came up to me and abruptly, in an authoritarian manner told me they don't allow dog fences. She told me that they, "have had dogs get out and get hit on the road out front, people leave there dogs alone in the fenced area which can also cause problems". Just a boat load of justifications for why they don't allow dog fences. So I told her I would comply and take down the fence, but I'm not happy with the rules. Then she saw that we had some solar lights with stakes that I had put in the ground a few inches and she told me to be careful and not put those in very far as they have had tent campers punch into the water line because it's buried so shallow. That's when I knew I was dealing with poor management and an authoritarian woman child throwing her weight around. She then left, I never spoke to her again and the rest of our experience was okay. In summary, we like to stay at places that aren't so strict with rules that punish good people for what a few bad people do. As far as punching into water lines, if someone breaches a water line because the infrastructure was so poorly built that's not my problem. That' just the cost of doing business. Yellowrock is a nice setting, but my main problems and complaints are. 1. They are not clear on their rules and do NOT give you a copy of the huge page of rules you sign off on. 2. Unprofessional attitude. The young lady who let me know I was not in compliance with their book of rules could have been more tactful. Given all of this we will NOT return. We are just trying to enjoy some outdoor time and relax with our dogs in a nice setting when we are out in our RV. It is not worth it to be lectured and have to put up with a bunch of rules that impede our ability to enjoy ourselves.

There are two kinds of spots, those with full hookups and those with water and power only. The ones without sewer are down by the river amongst the trees and this is where we stayed, right next to the river. Very relaxing. The site is nicely landscaped and maintained, with plenty of grass and trees dotted around. There is a slipway if you have a small boat. The river can also be fished and the on site general store sells all kinds of fishing gear, as well as many other things, including locally sourced preserves and honey. I bought a jar of the organic salsa and it was so good that I ate it all in one sitting. The store also sells souvenir items and alcoholic beverages, including local Montana brews - so I had to try some - very good! They also sell propane. The staff in the store are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a 'restroom, shower and laundry' block on site - I didn't use the laundry, but the showers are nice, you are provided a code to get in. There are also poop bags provided and doggy waste collection container. The rear area of the site by the river is behind a lift up barrier and you are provided a card to operate this to get in, it automatically lets you out. There are nice views of mountains in the distance and a cycle path all the way to Missoula if you want to go that far... We've certainly enjoyed our stay here so far and would recommend it to anyone.

At about 9:30 PM, I was sitting in my RV when I looked outside and walking up the road, about 20' from us was a HUGE Bull Moose! It stood at least 6' at the shoulder and had the largest rack I have ever seen! From ground to the tip of the rack he was easily at least 10'! I'd say between 600-800 lbs! He casually walked through the camp like he owned the place, walked to the fence and leaped over to the neighbors property. He was BEAUTIFUL! You won't see that in Seattle, Portland, New York, or even Missoula!
