He ended up advising to cut a third tree down because it was right next to the creek that runs behind our house and the roots were exposed and it could come down if the ground got too wet. This is the reason we took down the other trees. He gave us a very good quote compared to the guys that came after. They arrived on time on the day of the service. They even had to take my fence down and did it seamlessly. They took care of my property as well as the plant and grass in the area. When they got finished they left my yard clean of any debris and they put my fence back up to where it looks like nothing ever happened. The team took down about 13 trees for me in about 5 hours and they were clearly experienced. However, the clean up process left me wanting more. Unfortunately the team showed up a day after a heavy rain and my entire back yard took a beating, as did the lot next to me where they drove the log truck and bobcat. Additionally, the road in front of my driveway was covered with mud and I'm in a community with an HOA. I asked Josh about clean up, and he said the team would rake it over and clean up the road before they left, which they didn't. Josh even said he would come back and help me spread grass seed and straw over the lot beside me if I would go purchase, which I did but he never showed. I even asked if Josh would come back after the stump grinding to help grade the back area and I would pay him over his normal rate for two hours of work, and he agreed. That's where the transaction went sideways. Josh was hard to get in touch with and never showed back up. He didn't call to negotiate for more money or anything. The few texts I received just said I will be out this weekend or sometime next week. Three weeks later I called and left him a voicemail and said not to worry about coming back. I was left with about 25 hours worth of work and additional expenses for equipment rentals. Just beware what you are getting into when you hire for tree services. I was left with a mess for a backyard, many hours of labor and several hundred dollars of additional expenses for more work to the area before it will be considered "finished." Might be wise to ask your contractor these types of questions upfront and avoid unmet expectations. Price was competitive, tree work was good, cleanup and communication was poor, and follow thru was lacking. Best of luck if you choose these guys in the future!

Bruce showed up within two hours of my call, gave me a very reasonable quote, and said he could call me Monday with a time his crew could come out and do the job. I received a call from Sabrina who said that the crew had finished another job early and if it was alright to show up before lunch. The crew arrived and Bruce started working while his was eating their lunch. Long story short, they were done and gone with 2 hours of arrival and the trees were removed and the area cleared of storm debris. Very reasonable and efficient. John came out really quickly and gave me an estimate, and he was very professional. I ended up on a waiting list as there were many more urgent trees ahead of mine (trees on houses, etc). It took just over a week to get mine worked in (9/12 was the quote date, and the work was done this morning - 9/21), and he showed up promptly at 8am (the scheduled time). The downed tree was hanging about 15-20 feet over my vegetable garden (it was not fully on the ground), and they were extremely careful in not damaging any of my plants. I was really impressed with how much care they put into their work. There was one small mishap with a trunk coming down on my fence, but while they pulled down the next tree, someone ran to the hardware store to get a new top rail for my fence, and before they left it was back up and nobody will know that it was ever damaged. The big pine they took down was a monster (80+ feet tall), and it fell exactly where he said it would. They cut everything up in small chunks that we can easily move (we requested that we keep all the wood, as we'll use all of it for bonfires over the next year or two). The whole process took right at 2 hours (which is what he originally estimated), and I felt like it went really well. The whole crew was polite (and funny), and I'm definitely recommending him to neighbors that have trees damaged by the storm. I'll likely be bringing him back later on to take a couple more trees down that aren't a problem now, but will be at some point in the future. Definitely highly recommend. He responds quick, he was fair in pricing (maybe he's not the cheapest - although he was the least expensive of the two quotes I did get - but in some instances you really do get what you pay for) I had a couple people call me and tell me that they would quote cheaper, but they never showed up to do so.
