Mr. Culp and his team re-graded the soil next to the basement wall and replaced the drain pipe with a PVC pipe and pop-up emitter. They stayed with the job and fixed my problem, even after unexpected difficulties arose. They kept me informed at each step. I felt that the price they charged was very reasonable, particularly considering the thoroughness of their work. Highly recommended. Dan has a lot of experience and was a straight shooter when discussing the project. His communications were exactly what I expected and we had no surprises. Once we signed the contract, our project was moved up a few weeks which was awesome. All the onsite workers were awesome, hardworking, and professional. Taylor our lead was always available for questions when we had them and even made a few adjustments when we asked and they were done without one bit of pushback from the team. We had to have the stump ground due to being more exposed than expected once the work started and they coordinated with a company that did it at a very reasonable rate and time that did not disrupt the workflow of the overall project. I signed a contract with them to install sod, cut down and grind stumps of 2 large bushes, deliver…read moreenriched soil and plant some shrubs. The time frame was about 6 weeks out about mid July. I asked if the space for sod and shrubs should be weed free and they stated yes. I did receive instructions on how to care for the sod a week before they came. The sod was installed fine, the enriched soil was delivered and the shrubs were cut down with about a foot left. The stump grinder would come a few days later and the planting would be done in October. Well the stump grinder was actually someone with a tractor and a plow and the mess left was unbelievable. Dirt and large pieces of wood all around the area. The contract specifically stated "grind stump". I called the company several times to speak to the owners with no result, and I even took pictures and brought them in. I also had questions about the enriched soil, since weeds grew almost immediately and covered the planting area. Finally, I received an email from the owner who stated she had told us we would have to be meticulous about the weeds. She did not, nor did she state how soon and prolific the weeds would grow. They did come out and do a "courtesy" weed removal and therefore I would have "no further reason to contact the office", and also stated that someone had cleaned up the stump area. It was not done very well as I still had protruding stumps and chips of wood present along with dirt on top of the grass. I did complain about the stump grinding while they were there as I had expected a typical grinder. The owners then sent me an email basically ending the contract. Since I did not trust them anymore I agreed. The owners never once returned a phone call or took ownership of the stump grinding mess. I am so disappointed and angry that they thought so little of their customer they couldn't even make a phone call back and basically stated I criticized them therefore they would no longer honor their contract. I was extremely disappointed in the job that was done for me. The guy who has mowed my yard for…read morethe last ten years stated that the Bermuda sod was not even a pallet. I also found where you can purchase sod for $150 per pallet. I was charged 800 dollars for supposedly two pallets and 300 to lay the sod. Also, I had to pay him as I was going out of town from where my Mother died and he promised to purchase a water hose and sprinkler compliments of him and water the yard. When I arrived home four days later, no water hose, no sprinkler and the sod is almost dead. I have watered the sod every single day and not sure it is going to even live. I was in the hospital for seven days and he did the yard the day before I got out of the hospital, which I told him getting out the next day. He flat out lied to me about the water hose, sprinkler and watering what he had done. I would not recommend him to a single person. I am almost 65 and feel like I have been totally ripped off. I hired him without checking any references. He did do the job within the time he stated he would, which is more than Southland Landscaping Company did. Southland promised me for three months to do the yard and gave me a quote of $450, but he came up with every excuse in the world and lied to me constantly. It is a real shame that landscape companies take advantage of elderly women. I accept responsibility because I was overly anxious and did not check him out, but never again. This has been an extremely big disappointment. My goodness are there no landscape companies in Gwinnett County who is honest and will perform the job and not lie to an elderly woman. I was totally shocked when I started looking at the prices of sod how I was ripped off. I do not care how many organizations he is signed up to, check out references and do not pay this company unless he does the job as promised and make sure you do not make the same mistake I made so that you will not get ripped off. You are more than welcome to come and see how much sod is put down and what the sod looks like. I water every single day and just pray that the amount of sod in the yard lives. He was supposed to cover all the bare spots, but that did not get done either. I have taken numerous pictures. I would give him no stars if that was an option other than he did the work with the four days as promised. The rest I totally regret having him do the job because it is truly a horrible job. Please feel free to come by and discuss with me and see the job if you want to see a reference for yourself instead of trusting someone else to give you a reference. I strongly believe he had no intention of purchasing a water hose, sprinkler and watering since I had to drive out of town for my Mother's funeral.
