Came to look for a black lace dress with the hopes of it having long sleeves and a train. I'm a proud drag queen so I'm here trying to buy for an upcoming show. I'm going through the racks and looking at all the dresses at which point the owner woman comes up to me and ask me if I need help and I describe what I'm looking for and she of course knows her store and what she carries in-store. Wanting to make a sake she says that there is no dress like that there but she can help me order one I told her I would need it the day of. She asks me if its for my mom, to which I say "no, it's for me". Her face is in disgust which then turns to laughing at me in ridicule. My friend who had come to help me, Mikey, than said to her that I'm very pleasing to the eye and if I want to see a photo. "Oh god, please no" is her answer. I can't really knock the service, the lady behind the counter really did try her best. More so then anywhere else I've been. And let's face it, dressing a fat woman is hard to do. But their dresses are cheaply made and even the woman who worked there admitted they ran small. In most stores I wear a size 22, which is about a 2X, but their 2X would be more like a 16 or smaller. Even their 4 and 5 Xs didn't fit me. One was too big, the other wouldn't zip up. I can understand the dressing room rules, especially the part about men not standing around them - there's no doors, just curtains, and pull as I would, there was still an inch gap on either side. In the end I felt bad because I left with nothing. However, what could I do? Most dresses didn't fit. The ones that did were so huge even on a fatty like me I could've fit an average size woman in there with me. One thing I don't get, and even the saleswoman agreed with me that it made no sense, why do formal dresses always have to be sleeveless? A lot of women, both skinny and fat, should not show their arms. I guess if I dropped more weight I could fit into their 4X, but at this time, I guess I'm stuck with having to have the dress I need custom made because this was the only store I've found that carried formal dresses that actually looked like formal gowns. (Even Nordstroms has failed me recently.) But their idea of a 2X is just too small. read more

Main place is known for being a pretty ghetto mall so I don't expect much from the stores here. However, this store exceeded my expectations from customer service to the style of dresses ! Though it was not easy finding a dress here, I really appreciated the old lady who had broken English trying to help me in the beginning. Later the owner came and helped me select a dress and even offered to have it altered so that it fit me perfectly! Great customer service !!! I would definitely come back again :) read more

Still in shock at the horrible customer service! I took my daughter there for a dress and we weren't there for 5 min when the sales lady told us she had no dress for us. I pulled an xs off rack that would fit and she told us it would not, she had nothing for us and could not try it or anything else on. We were quiet, well behaved, dressed nicely and ready to spend money. I have 2 daughters that will need dresses for many years. I will never visit this store again and will be calling the owner later today. read more

I came looking for a bridesmaid dress. The saleslady was definitely rude. I fit in Medium but when the lady measured me she said I only fit in XL. She only let me try on Large and XL. Those didn't fit at all. They were really loose. The selections are definitely overpriced. I recommend going anywhere else. read more

This place is....okay. It's difficult to find formalwear in any part of the mall in Mainplace...it's all kinda slim pickins. I'd normally have gone to South Coast Plaza, but this was for a school project and Mainplace is much closer to campus. The dresses are pretty cheaply made, but there's a lot of selection, comparatively. The lady who runs the place is a nut, she wouldn't let the director of the project I was working on take photos of me in different dresses. Why does it matter?!? Afraid someone is going to steal your knock-off dress ideas? I didn't get it. She also had a huge list of rules in the dress room that I thought were so outrageous that I took a photo and will be posting it shortly. Also, there are NO returns, which is fine I guess, considering the clientele is probably teenagers who want to buy a dress for prom and then return it. It just would have sucked had we found a better dress someplace else but had to keep this one--but my director was able to talk her down a little bit because of that. This lady was super rude. My son and I went in the store just right now. There was a very unsturdy rack that accidentally fell while my son and I passed it. I apologized and even helped pick up the clothes on it. The lady came back and said she will help me like I had the obligation to do it. I decided to leave after helping her. She was making me pick it up all the items. I told her that's not how she should run a business being so rude. I would give this lady a zero if I could. If she is just a worker the owner needs to fire her. She is losing business for you. If you are the owner lady you certainly don't know how to run a store that should cater to customer service. Hands down will never go in there. I hardly write bad reviews but this warrants one. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. Honestly the lady at this store was rude and a *itch. My girlfriends and I were looking for prom dresses and we had tried only a few on and we were already starting to realize they were all *hit and overpriced... When the witch sales lady came up to us and asked when our prom was to which we responded it was a few months out. She proceeded to ask if we were planning to buy today and we said we were just starting to look around. Like wtf who buys one of the first 4 dresses to an event that is months out!!! Then she had the nerve to tell us that we had tried enough dresses on, telling us to basically leave. I am 18 years old with a job, I could have spent money if I had wanted to. The lady discriminated me against my age. I highly recommend you to never give business to this store.. EVER!!! And no my girlfriends and I weren't making a mess or trying on dresses as a joke! read more

I went in this store yesterday.. I was looking for formal dresses for my daughters royal court for her Quince's. We found a couple of dresses but nothing we can use ... Small selection and not the best quality for the price (they have lots of pinks) I think the shops at 4th street might be better. read more

We recently went to this store for a family wedding to purchase the bridesmaids dresses. We found a gorgeous dress in a beautiful short length style and color to match the wedding details. We ordered 7 dresses from them and thought everything would be great. When the dresses were ready we went to the store to pick them up and notice the dress was not the same color as what was picked and was not fitting the same way as when was tried on. The store at no time contacted us to advise that the wrong color was received. We were extremely unhappy with the color and when we complained the store said that it was due to them ordering the dresses from a different manufacturer and tried to match the color. The only way to fix the problem and get the color we wanted to was to order the same dress in a long version only and they would not alter the dress to what we original wanted. We were not happy with this but with not much time left before the wedding we had no choice. We ordered the dress in the long version and had all of the girls go back to the store for refitting. The long dress were ordered and when those came in we went into the store to pick them up. Once again problems arose. All of the dresses are wrinkled, two of the dresses have a sharp metal piece poking there skin at the top which the store refused to fix said we can fix it on our own. And three of the other dresses did not fit the same way as the dress that was tried on. When we complained to the owner of several issues with the orders the owner did not have any regard to the problems there store caused and how unhappy with the service. At no time did the owner apologize or try and make up for there mistakes. Two of the other ladies who work there are extremely rude and should not be dealing with this kind of business. We will make sure never to visit this store and strongly would not recommend this store for an important event. If the dress is not physically in the store do not order it. WE ARE EXTREMELY UNHAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
