I went to pick up my contacts on my lunch break only to be deliberately locked out of the office 10 minutes before their hours stated they were supposed to close. Wasting an entire hour driving to Beaufort and back is not my ideal way to pass time. In my line of work, the only acceptable solution to this would be to deliver the goods directly to the customer--because at that point, I had no intention to return. A verbal apology was simply an insufficient reparation. The fun doesn't stop, either. My dad went to pick up his contacts only to find out when he got home that he was given another patient's contacts as well. The solution? My dad spending another hour driving back to Beaufort returning the goods. Once again, patients internalizing the consequences of poor customer service so clearly demonstrated by this practice. I lost a screw in my glasses while visiting Ocracoke and a Google search showed the closest optician was Beaufort Vision Clinic which was one block off of our return route. We stopped in unannounced late one afternoon and asked about getting the missing screw replaced. We were helped immediately by a very pleasant young woman. She worked us in without delaying those who were already present or who came in with an appointment - as it should be. She also cleaned my glasses and replaced the nose pieces with a "no slip" version which has proven to be a great improvement over what I had. I could not have asked for a better experience and had no reason to expect the excellent service I received. This is an impressive firm! read more

Thank you Dr. Angela Gray of Beaufort Vision Clinic! I have only good things to say about Dr. Gray. She is knowledgeable, efficient, thorough, professional, and very pleasant. Of all the eye doctors I have visited, she is the best. I have an eye condition that could render me blind without any warning. The previous eye doctors that I visited NEVER informed me of anything being wrong, they just did the exam and prescribed glasses. Dr. Gray saw the problem, thoroughly explained the condition and its consequences if I neglected to get treatment, then referred me to a retina specialist. I travel from New Bern, which is about an hour's drive and I will continue to do so as long as I can, the trip is well worth the service I receive. Her staff is professional and helpful and cordial.
