Great place. Now Beau's Chateau for Pets. Great spot for grooming, boarding with personalized care…read more The staff is the same, now with new owners. Undergoing renovations now!

Even though we paid extra for either grooming or bathing, they come home smelling. The grooming prices were outrageous for a trim. Over $150 to trim our Shitzu and a medium sized mixed breed. They smelled when we picked them up and as other reviewers state, they are always dehydrated and thirsty. We called them after the last time and they gave us crap for calling and the owner was supposed to call but never did. We thought we would give them one more chance, it was horrible. Last time. I do not recommend you use this place for grooming or boarding. Our dogs don't deserve to be treated like this and as owners we don't need to be disrespected and scared to bring our animals to a place. 30August2019...update. We received a typed letter from the owner in the mail. She states there is no place for the dogs to get stinky and she has no idea what we smelled because her place is sanitary and that it was probably their ears or anal glands (weird because we just paid for a bath and grooming). She also stated they always have access to water and it was probably because they were excited to see us, they have stayed with friends and other kennels and never ever have been thirsty like this. She blamed my wife for playing phone tag and not calling back. And finally blaming us for hurting her business. So basically it's all our fault, we are correcting this by updating to one star from two and ensuring we will never let them touch our dogs again.

After much research and knowing what a good kennel is to look like, this place is beyond amazing…read more I am so happy my friend at Penrods Canoe Livery recommended it. As soon as we pulled down their beautiful path you could hear dogs playing and staff interacting. I first peeked around a very nice wooden fence with a viewing area to the fenced in play area and the happy dogs confirmed the sound from the drive. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by an employee at the front desk. Or one appears within minutes (they have multiple employees but if you did as me and created a surprise visit, its good to know they are always alert and the staff was happy to greet me and my puppies). The took my puppies to one of the play yard to interact with other dogs about their size and energy level. I was provided a tour. Remember they were not expecting me so it was even more pleasant to see everything spotless, no unpleasant odors, some older dogs happily resting on cots with the more energetic broken up into different play groups and yards outside. They even have an adorable puppy room (my puppies being a large breed were a bit large for that area, but was in use and was staffed. Since then I have used Carol's Acme Creek Kennel many times. My puppies jump up and down with excitement as we get close and cannot wait to get out of the car. We have normally used the day care, but I just boarded them and when I returned they were bathed, happy, not anxious at all and the feeling was similar to dropping your kids off at kindergarten the first time and want to stay and play. Thank you Carol and the entire team for taking such good care of my 2 very large puppies. oh and check at their website, it has all of the pricing. And as most places they do have a strict pick up time unless you call to say you will be late, but in my mind thats to avoid everyone from taking advantage and being late. Again sort of like aftercare with human children. This is a wonderful place.

Staff are okay. They dont say much or tell you about your pet's day. I always had to ask. Our…read morebulldog ended up with kennel cough after a few weeks of going there.

We love Meadowpond! We have used them many times. This kennel is super cute! The rates are good!…read moreThe rooms are large, clean, and well kept. The anytime drop off & pick up is super easy. Our dog ( a 65 lb wirehaired Viszla ) is comfy & cozy here with lots of space to visit and play with other pups. Megan and her crew are compassionate and caring. They handle food and meds with ease and accuracy. They respond quickly to emails. They are always friendly and best of all, they treat our boy well! New to the area, our vet recommended Meadowpond to us a year ago and we are so glad she did!

We were looking for a place to board our dogs for a night or two while we visited Charlevoix in…read moreorder to enjoy the city without having to worry about them. I had contacted a facility closer to Charlevoix, but they wouldn't accept our dogs because they are pitbull mixes, and they recommended Meadowpond to us. I immediately requested a reservation on Meadowpond's website because any business that doesn't discriminate against our friendly pups deserves our business and support :) Anyway, the reservation process was super simple. You fill out the information on their site, and they called me about the reservation that week because we requested the reservation a month before our trip. They answered all my questions about how everything works with it being a 24/7 facility, and quickly got our dogs set up for their upcoming reservaton. Drop off was a little confusing because I didn't realize that there were two codes - one for the door into the facility and a different one for the code to their actual room. However, once that was figured out, they were in the room and ready to go in no time. They are able to share a room, and it is a good size for both dogs (45 and 55 pounds). The room also has a dog door so they could go to a private outdoor area to go to the bathroom or be outside whenever they wanted. We got to see pictures of the dogs on their FB page which was nice to know they were having fun and enjoying their time there. You are able to pick your dog up at any time during their stay, so the checkout process was as easy as us accessing the room with the code, gathering their belongings, and taking them out to the car. It was a breeze, so much so that I never even had to talk to anyone in person at the building. If we need to board our dogs in the area again, we'll definitely come back to Meadowpond!
