Fantastic grooming salon! We've visited the best - and these ladies top them all. Our little Brussels Griffon is a bit of a cranky Diva ... We have been traveling the country with our doodle and ran into a family that had two doodles that looked awesome. We were in Petoskey Michigan and I asked where they had theres groomed and they said Doggie Stylez in Traverse City. This was our next stop on our adventure and we made an appointment. I could not be happier with the way our doddle was treated and looks. She has never looked so good. This place really knows how to treat and groom dogs. I just moved into TC and my dog needed a cut. So I yelped around and found Doggie Stylez... it certainly helped that it was in my neck of the woods. The place is quite packed - they were booking out at least a week. That tells me good things right off the bat. Then when the day came, the groomer took down the info on my dog, asked what I would like, had a nice little demo of the different lengths that they can do. And I left for the 2 hours it took for them to finish up the pooch... I was actually surprised that he was ready so quickly. The cut was just as I asked it to be - the same all over. There were a few strays, but that's okay. The other good part is that I told her not to touch his ears because he tends to go nuts for days and weeks (if not months) after getting a hair cut. I've had him back for a couple days and he hasn't been itching at his ears at ALL. This is probably my favorite part about his cut here. My least favorite part about the cut is the smell - he was WAY too strong perfume-wise. I'll have to make sure that I either bring in my own shampoo, or ask them to use something different next time. I LOVE to hang all over my dog after he gets a cut b/c he is so soft and clean. I wasn't able to do that this time b/c I could barely stand being near him. :( I ended up with a headache for the entire day after picking him up. Overall good, but definitely watch out for the strong smell! read more

Excellent business. The pricing is very fair, especially for my Newfoundland. Heather is ver pleasant to work with. I've taken my dog to other groomers and he has wanted to leave and acted very traumatized when I came to pick him up. But, when I pick him up at Doggie Stylez he does not want to leave Heather. That makes me feel very comfortable about leaving him with her. At other groomers I've gotten my dog back with cotton balls still in his ears, cuts and razor burns, but at Doggie Stylez I've never had any issues. read more

My two standard poodles get groomed here at the same time. They always come out looking gorgeous. They are the best groomers I have ever used including numerous groomers in the Twin Cities area and Naples, Florida. Also - they are both extremely sweet and seem to love animals. I can't say enough good things about this place. We bring our pups up from Lansing to come to this groomer. Often we visit TC so having such a great pet salon is just reassuring. Our pets love it here and when we pick them up they look great and are be lavished with love. The grooming is top notch. I have been to quite a few groomers here in Traverse City, most of those places either couldn't work with my schedule or I ended up leaving my poor pooch there for much longer then she needed. I am so impressed with Doggie Stylez, either morning or afternoon, they have my little four legged girl out of there within 1-1 1/2 hours. This makes bringing her in to get a haircut much easier, its a great convient location, and the prices are very comparable to what I have found in this city. Brandi and Heather both care so much about the animals they are working with, my Melody always looks so fresh, clean and pretty after she is done at Doggie Stylez. This is the best dog groomer I have ever had! My dog has a very thick coat, and he unfailingly looks like he lost ten lbs. of fur! Clean and shiny, with well rounded and shorter nails. Nice operation! read more

Our beloved rescue poochie got a mouth infection from having her teeth cleaned by this groomer that needed a trip to the emergency vet with a week of antibiotics. They do not require any immunization records thus placing your beloved pets at risk of illnesses such as kennel cough, parvo and coronovirus. The friend I referred to them has a sweet puppy who came back with cuts on his neck after being groomed at this facility and they never gave her the referral discount and tipped themselves without her knowledge when she paid by credit card. When I tried to bring this to their attention they claimed her infection was an "allergic reaction and due to damage from a stick, bone or toy" despite our vet telling us that the infection had to do with forceful teeth brushing that had separated the gums from the teeth and had significant damage to them. No responsibility at all was taken. I was not asking for any financial reimbursement at all just wanted them to know that they might want to be more careful when performing this service. read more

Called about getting my dogs nails cut and Heather was extremely helpful. Took the time to answer all my questions, as I am new to town. Took my dog in 15 minutes later and she was so good with him. He usually whimpers and whines but the table is out where the customer can see so he was able to focus on me and barely cried at all. Great experience and fairly inexpensive!! I've had 25 years of experience with various groomers in Traverse City (and with a variety of dogs). We've struggled to find a groomer that fits with our somewhat challenging 12 year old small breed mix, but I can stop looking. Erin at doggie Stylez did the best job, in the least amount of time, for the lowest cost. My "boys" are my children and prior to Doggie Stylez I was unable to feel comfortable leaving them alone at the groomers. Heather is very sensitive to their needs and knows both of their quirks. Now I am able to leave them in the care of Heather and know that they will be well taken care of. Before, both Gizmo and Bear would shake and get scared when we pulled into the parking lot to get groomed. Now they act as if it's a play date!
