Meredith herself touchlessly took my temperature to ensure I had no fever and asked me about signs of Covid-19 (none). I had my appointment with PA-C Gloria Barnett today. From a car accident back in the late 1990's, the skin under my right eye is stretched out (had swelled shut due to trauma back then), so I always have this shadow under my eye that makes me look tired. I had a consult with Gloria and we decided to do a correction that was within my budget and would definitely make that bag/sag/shadow go away, and keep my face's symmetry. With 1 syringe of Voluma she added a little sculpting to the the top of each cheekbone to give me a natural-looking and long-lasting lift. With Juvederm XC she filled in that low spot under my right eye and ensured the fill was matched under my non-droopy left eye. Despite being a non-smoker since the late 1990's (and then it was only a pack a week, on and off, for a few years), I have noticed little vertical lines over my upper lip appearing. I suppose it is to be expected when you hit your 50's!. With a subtle and beautiful application of Volbella, Gloria erased the lines that I was self-conscious about, and ensured I had perfect symmetry and just a touch of softness on my upper lip without looking artificial or unnatural. She came back on the line and told me they don't accept my insurance. So I called my provider. Sure enough this office is in my network. So my provider called them and conferenced me in after explaining to the new person that answered the phone that they did accept my insurance. Then they tried to say that the Dr. Goodman wasn't accepting new patients. I located a different artist who has displayed 20 years of certifications and continuing education for training techniques and health certifications. Nima did not have any additional training or certifications displayed on the website or in the studio. She had one certificate in the displayed in the studio. I asked for more natural looking hair strokes as seen in the sample pic below. She clearly did not listen to my needs as a client. She did not check in with me until after mapping and then at the very end. Lord- I should have stopped her at least 3 times between each pass to ensure we were sticking to the mapped lines. She went way outside of these lines. She as a professional- should regularly check in with her clients to ensure this as well? This was my first permanent make up experience. What a Nightmare. Pain and an alternative look. She gave me permanent eyebrows that are super bold, full, and eyebrows that have definitive prominent outlines than we discussed. These are identical to powder brows, but not natural at all. They look drawn in with a fat brown crayon. The finished session should have been the final look of what my brows would be for the next 1-2 years after healing. I left there with a completely different look than expected and paid for. I told Nima that I one arch was also higher than the other. She said that we could correct it once it heals and that the size and shade of my brows would shrink and log item significantly after healing anyways. You mean I have to walk around with a crooked eyebrow for 4-6 weeks? Lastly, the pain that I experienced during our session was much more than anybody should have had to tolerate for a normal tattoo. She was heavy handed , she blew out the nano lines form a doubt 2/3 from the center to the ends and ended up shading them in completely to the tails. She did at least 5 passes on each side and she re- mapped after 2 passes for some reason - I did not ask her why. My fault again. Ugh. The strokes on the bottom lines where she started each stroke were clearly too deep as these lines are currently deep, thick dots of brown. There are a lot of things I should have asked for before we ever even started. But this being my first experience has been a lesson for sure. Do not just give her the tattoo gun and trust she knows what she is doing. Because she clearly does not.
