I had her do my hair for my wedding and was shocked at the great updo I got. Not because I doubt her skills but because I have the worlds finest hair but even after a full day of things to do and dancing all night my hair was still perfect. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else with such an important day. She's also terrific with my constantly changing ideas for haircuts and makes suggestions along the way. The salon also invests in ongoing education for their stylists. It's a local place with lots of the same clientele in there. Most of the stylists have worked their for years and have a great repoire. I always enjoy my visits. I've had highlights, perms, updos and multiple hairstyles/haircuts all successfully and happily completed. The one time I wasn't happy with my hair and tried to live with it and then could get back for weeks, Jamey made a point of reminding me I didn't need to live with it, but should have come in earlier and she would have fixed it. Since I change my hairstyle about every 10-12 months I always give myself 2-4 weeks to adjust to a new style. So it was my own fault I lived with it...but it's nice to hear a stylist say "hey you didn't need to do that, I'd have fixed it for you!!!" Claudel (@claudel_pottle) was in charge of hair, Diana (@beautybydiana.ct) for makeup. I will say, once I saw myself in the mirror I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked! They not only made me look like a beautiful bride, but they also catered to the needs of my maid of honor, bridesmaids, flower girls, and mother. Amazingly, with my mom, she said "do whatever you think would look good" for hair, and Claudel came up with a breathtaking hairdo! Not to mention the hair and makeup stayed put the entire night, some of us into the morning! This was with the high stress of dancing ourselves silly. If you want quality hair and makeup that will make you look like a princess AND stay in place, book with Elle. A second point: Mahnaz, the owner, was originally supposed to do my hair. She unfortunately injured her hand the week of the wedding, but was extremely communicative and helped me get a second trial with Claudel so I was comfortable and confident the day of! While I was sad I would not have Mahnaz there that day, I do hope she has a speedy recovery and is proud of the work her employees did on our special day. I had a very disappointing experience with a brow lamination service here. The technician skipped…read moreimportant steps in the process, which led to uneven gaps and an over-trimmed, choppy look. During the service, the wrap was repeatedly lifted while the solution was processing, and my brows were trimmed before setting both of which caused poor results. When I raised my concerns, the owner did not take responsibility and instead blamed the outcome on my brows rather than acknowledging the process errors. The handling of the situation felt dismissive and unprofessional. I paid $75 for a service that left my brows looking worse than before, and the way my concerns were brushed off was very frustrating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. They keep deleting my review and somehow yelp is allowing this so I have to keep re-reviewing to hopefully warn others of what could happen if you go here. Here are my befores and after photos. I had very even brows going in, and left with fried permed brows in every direction.
