I decided to give him a chance, and I'm so glad I did. I asked a lot of questions about layers, styling, washing frequency, hair health, and he patiently answered every one of them. It's obvious that he genuinely enjoys what he does and has a great understanding of hair. He was confident with his techniques, professional, and very kind throughout the appointment. Most importantly, he fixed the face-framing pieces I had been unhappy with and gave me a haircut that feels much more flattering and intentional. I left feeling educated, listened to, and happy with the result. I would definitely return.

I paid $620 total (including a 15% tip, $540 before tip) for a balayage and haircut, which felt extremely high--especially considering the haircut alone was only $80. During the appointment, the experience itself was uncomfortable. Chemicals were dripping onto my face, leaving stains on my forehead, and when my hair was washed, the water was cold and splashed everywhere. A few days later, after washing and styling my hair the way I normally do, I noticed how off the balayage looked. My roots already appeared very grown out--almost halfway down my head. I understand balayage is meant to grow out naturally, but this looked like it had been done months ago when it had only been a week. Even my family commented that it looked grown out. I called the salon to see if they could fix the top portion, and I was told my stylist, Angel, would call me back--but I never heard from her. Overall, I'm really disappointed. Not only was the service expensive, but the results didn't meet expectations, and there was no follow-up or effort to make it right.

From the moment I reached out to Amber, all my nerves disappeared! She responded to my inquiry quickly, sent over examples of her work and even did a phone consultation before we decided to move forward. I'm post-partum, post-divorce, and in need of a serious glow-up to start feeling like myself again…read more It's finally becoming a hot topic to discuss what pregnancy does to the body, which is a nightmare in itself that I still can't bring myself to embrace, but one thing we still aren't talking enough about is HAIR. My beautiful, luscious wavy locks were completely transformed by two rapid-fire pregnancies. Now coarse, dry and with sections growing in grey, it's like I don't even recognize myself! Caught in the middle of a "season" of not being ready to date, but not wanting to avoid mirrors anymore, I called up Ministry Salon. Suspicious of both the friendly tone of the person on the other line, the easy availability to book an appointment, and the convenient location, I was pretty nervous walking into the first appointment. I've been burned before. Somewhere along the way, I've been programmed to think scarcity of availability for salons means they're better quality, since the appointments are seemingly more in demand. Thankfully, my nerves were quickly quelled. Emily was so kind, personable, and NORMAL. She didn't make me feel uncomfortable, the salon was welcoming and the color service? Phenomenal. There's a moment during a foil color treatment where you have no idea what you're going to look like in 10 minutes. Not a clue. It's a kind of stress and anxiety that's hard to explain unless you've already personally experienced the bowl rinse out after a color treatment. Wondering, have I just made a terrible mistake? This is my new spot. The foil came off, the rinse completed, and after the blow dry I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe it. I looked..like...myself! The self I remembered from before kids! It's been a month since the color treatment and it's growing out SO WELL that you'd never know what a disaster I was before the appointment. Thank you Emily!

(Bonus, next door to a great little coffee shop with fresh pastries and excellent espresso.) First, I booked myself with Rachel Galati, who is so skilled (and highly educated), creative, and also lovely to hang out & chat with during your appointment. She gives the BEST short, cool, alty hair and is a glorious old-Hollywood glam/gothic fae scissor wizard! Today I brought my 11 y/o daughter in when she decided it was time for a fresh new look - she just started middle school and made a decisive change. It could not be more flattering and was exactly what she wanted. Rachel was so excited to support this transformation and had great rapport with my kiddo. 12/10, no notes, highly recommend, and THANK YOU!

Really disappointed with my experience after seeing so many good reviews/great pictures on social…read moremedia of the blowouts here. No heat protectant was put on my hair whatsoever and my ends were left crunchy, dry, and frizzy. I am due for a haircut soon but my ends were absolutely not this fried when I arrived. I was never asked what I wanted as far as styling beyond that I wanted the bouncy blowout. I arrived with my bangs clearly down and styled, but they were completely ignored. He just tried to smooth my bangs into the rest of my hair at the last second as a last resort leaving my hair very strangely parted and my cowlick just dangling there. I was at such a loss for words I just paid and left because I was on the verge of tears looking at the top of my head and my ends. The people were very nice I just couldn't believe they let me leave looking like that. I should have said something but I was just so confused and at a loss. Definitely don't come here if you have any sort of bangs or cowlicks of any kind and if you do please request they put heat protectant on your hair To update based off of the owner's reply: 1. I did leave through the back door as recommended, so my hair never came in contact with any moisture. I walked out through the back into the parking structure area. The photos I took are on the drive home and my hair had come into zero contact with any sort of water or moisture. 2. The condition of my ends is in no way just frizz from moisture in the air. I've since then washed and styled my hair multiple times and my ends are completely fried, which is not the condition my hair was in before the blowout. My ends were soft and relatively healthy. 3. As far as leaving without saying anything, that IS my fault. I'm generally too shy to say anything or express concerns after receiving a service. But even a restyle would not have saved the damage to my hair. However, my plan WAS to communicate how I wanted my hair to be styled. I even had reference images ready to show my bangs. Not only was I never asked how I would like my hair to be styled other than the original question (straight blowout or bouncy blowout), not a single word was spoken to me during the service and the person blowing out my hair had their headphones in and was talking on the phone with someone. That's not exactly a situation where I'm comfortable expressing how I would like my hair done. I was sat in the chair and my blowout began immediately as my stylist had headphones in and was on a call with someone, with no opportunity to express how I would like it styled. Overall, I'm willing to admit that I should've asked for a restyle on my bangs/front area. That is my fault for being too shy to say anything and just pretending that I loved it and that everything was fine. But I DID leave through the back door as recommended, my ends are fried (not just frizzy from moisture), and the behavior of the stylist (no questions asked, silence, headphones in, and on a phone call) didn't make me feel comfortable to express how I wanted my hair styled in the first place. I'm not expecting any refund as I know the no refunds policy and I'm aware that I could've and should've said something at least about the bangs. But to act as if I didn't listen to your advice when someone LITERALLY let myself and my partner out of the back door straight to the parking structure and that the damage to my hair is just frizz is really upsetting.
