Arrived at 10am on a Saturday morning and this place was packed! Learned of this shop on IG...I'm very particular about who I let do my hair so first I was really skeptical but today I was feeling a bit adventurous and I'm glad I decided to give them a try. A little over braids and wanted to give my natural hair a rest and needed something GYM friendly so let's see what this traditional install is giving. Arrived shampooed, blow dried & ready to go! But I appreciated learning that I didn't need to...honestly a good shampoo is the best part of getting my hair done. Noted for next time. The playlist was definitely a vibe... I didn't wait long. Arrived on time and by noon I was on my way out the door... Love did an amazing job on my hair today. I found the salon on TikTok, and as many say, you have to be wary, especially because they said they take walk-ins, but the appointment book was not showing availability until June, so I was concerned and called. They said to come at 11, and I got there at 11, however, there was a small hiccup with where the beauty supply was(Google lied, LOL), so I asked them to please bear with me as I went to go find hair, and they were extremely patient. I came back at 11:40, and they took me right away to the basin to be washed. As I'm driving away, I can 1000% say Worth. Every. Penny! Not only was the wash soothing and therapeutic, the sewing was extremely well done, and my braider took care to make sure that all the spots on my scalp on which I prefer loose braids were respected. As she was installing the hair, she did a great job of making sure it wasn't too overly full if you know what I mean, and then brought it to a different dimension with the addition of the flat iron. Everyone was kind, music was great, it does feel a bit like you're in and out of a factory, but timeline wise, itwas exceptional. I got there at 11:40, after having a massive runaround to find her, and was still out by 2:11 which is a win in my book! Very organized! Additionally, there was someone going by making sure the floors were swept at least every 15 minutes, which is important when you have that many heads being worked on. I've been here numerous times for a sew-in and the service is always great! They wash, blow dry, braid, and sew in my hair for $160, but I always tip the shampoo girl and the person who completes my sew-in service. I've also been here for just a wash and style with my sew-in already in place and the service was quick. Definitely would recommend!!! read more

I scheduled an appt 2 weeks in advance for 2:30 for a Saturday appt. I arrived a few mins early because I wasn't sure how parking would be. I found a lot close by. When I walked in, the salon was packed, but I was warmly greeted by 2 people. I gave them my name and she confirmed what my appt was for then asked if I needed my hair to be washed. I said yes and she told me to have a seat in the waiting area. I was taken to the shampoo chair at 2:35 and had to wait a few more minutes. After being shampooed, I was taken to a chair where someone else blow dried my hair. Then I had to wait a few mins for someone to braid my hair. At some point the person that started braiding my hair left and someone else came to finish it. Then I had to wait again for someone to install my sew in. She couldn't do curls so I had to go to another chair for someone else to curl my hair. Based on the customer service, price, and the look of my hair I would go back for sure. I found this place on tik tok and I thought I would bring my daughter here to try it. They have several women working. If you are not of middle eastern descent please be prepared to wait because they get priority over you no matter what time you got there. Currently sitting here with my daughter, had the owner tell me he was going do her hair when we first came in, he did not. 7 hours later and I had to show my color in order for them to get to her head. Women came in hours after us and were in and out but hey I get it service your people first but the rest of us yeah you waiting. Pretty good experience overall. I made an appointment online (dec 31st at 2pm) for a wash and flat iron/style. When I arrived, multiple people were waiting, it was a holiday but Josey had the salon running like a true professional. I sat for about 20-30 min and was called to get washed. The lady who washed my hair didn't speak English but my hair felt very try clean. I had glue in my hair from a prior quick weave and she managed to wash it out with conditioner. The blow drying process was pretty tedious and definitely feel like i lost some hair. They can be a little rough. I do have 4c hair. But overall, they did a great job! They switched between 2-3 stylists. One person for wash, another person for blow dry and someone else for straighten. For $70 I will absolutely return again especially if i need a last minute appointment. Parking is street or a nearby garage that's a 3 min walk. My hair is still straight 4 weeks later so they did a pretty good job! read more

8/10 experience Now before I get started I went on 2/14 I had a 1:30 appointment. I did have to wait a little after 1:30 to get started. But it wasn't anything crazy: the wash process could have been better I wish she would have really got up in there but still wasn't the worst. The blow dry part could have been a lot better, my roots weren't properly dried by the first stylist, but the second stylist did get me together. Now the style I wanted was half braid half sew in. I love it. Looking at the style now I wish we would have done it differently but I still love my hair and will be back to them. Extremely Disappointed - Damaged hair and No Accountability I entrusted a $1,200 custom wig to Beauty by Josey on May 13, 2025, for coloring services. Unfortunately, the wig was shown to me severely damaged. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly and amicably, including giving the salon 5 MONTHS to repair or reimburse me, I received no meaningful response or resolution. The owner still has my wig and won't answer my calls. Every time I drive there he tells me he's been too busy to handle it I expected professionalism, accountability, and basic respect for my property. Instead, I've been left with a costly loss and no communication. I've since issued a formal demand letter and will be pursuing further action through the appropriate consumer protection channels. I strongly urge others to exercise caution before entrusting this business with high-value wigs, weave, or color services etc. read more

I booked the appointment and for a whole week I heard nothing from them. My appointment was set for 9 am Saturday with Yosef Girum for a wig install. I called friday to confirm and the lady said they don't do wig installation I asked why I was never contacted and she gave me Yosef he talked in circles and promised to get back with me to confirm. I never heard back so I called hours later and I literally called 11 times pretty much in a row it was only 5pm the website says they're still open. The 12th time I called he finally answered and said "I'm just going to cancel your appointment ". Very rude and unwelcoming customer service. I drove all the way to the salon just now to ask them a question and the receptionist and stylist was very blunt, cold, and standoffish. I simply asked if they could do a cornrow style & showed them a picture (that the receptionist barely looked at), and they brushed me off so quickly like they didn't want to help me or do service for me. First impressions count and you've lost a customer and more customers because my friends also asked me to go on behalf of them for help and I will tell them their energy and customer service is horrible!!! read more

So 2025 to try a new salon, which I did. I messaged Josey late, January and after several hours, I received a reply. I booked an appointment and when I arrived, I waited about 35/45minutes but I was pleased with my service. In march I sent a photo of a style I wanted that he said can be done. I messaged his phone waiting for an appointment time that I never received so I walked in and waited for 2 1/2 hours Unfortunately, no one was able to do the style, but I still did braids. The stitch to seal my braids was not done properly and in one day the braids were down. I messaged Josey to inform him, but I never got a reply. I was disappointed by that. I had I such a great experience. I got smedium Knotless butt length braids including a wash and condition. I'm so happy with the outcome! I've tried a couple places in the DMV area and this place is by far the best. To top it off, the staff was amazing. I changed what I wanted literally 3 times and they were patient and kind. A great salon in the Silver Spring/DC area. I've been seeing Josey since he had his smaller space before he opened this one. This salon is great for natural hair. They do a good job with washes, roller set/or blow dry then Josey finishes it off with styling. I've also gotten braids done in this salon as well. Street parking available, across from the Target and walk-ins welcome. Recommend this salon to everyone! read more
